Why do i need to setup subscription when i have 30 days, your having a laugh?

Sunday afternoon and after 6 days of not receiving items that were deleted you now come with this crap?

- setup subscription while we still have 30 days?
- putting us in a queue from here to vaeles room?

I am serious starting to regret this whole experience because it feels like a fail game considering the bad sales reports and now you want to milk out the ones that actual bought it in the hope we forget to cancel the subscription and you can take a extra month of us if we decide play!

What a bad show, serious. Fire your marketing team there *** at there job and this cost you even more players and bad publicity.

Shame on you.

This is the exact same plan every MMO has and every time people complain. I'm surprised people don't know by now.

They just want a "valid payment method" set up. You can cancel right after your 30 days are activated if you really wanted to.

Not gonna pay a monthly sub for this kind of service

yeah this is a joke , why do we NEED to have a sub set up cant i us the time i have all ready paid for , and set it up any time with in the next 30 days , or is having some ppl run out of time and not be able to log in next month for a few days coz they forgot to set it up, worse than being in a F**King Queue for hours just to set up a sub to get the time WE HAVE ALL READY PAID FOR.

What was that famous line that Samuel Jackson said in an interveiw, "Mediocroty seems to be the new norm in our society".
In my mind, the 30 day trial period should be where the customer has well 30 days to sign up for an account, if not, your account is terminated until you do so.
Pretty simple, makes sense. Thats why it seems companies dont do it.

This is true. Any new sub MMO I've played in past few years required sub info to be setup ahead of time. The fact that they waited a few days then locked everyine out ... is not typical however.

They are not charging either, just verifying payment method and placing a small pre-auth.

    Wrong.

Most MMOs don't have queues on their websites' account pages. Most MMOs don't put up a message telling people that their login information is incorrect when they actually just need to set up a subscription plan.

Doubting if I even want to subscribe after seeing all of this. It's just too silly having to wait for hours to enter your account page. Great website you got there.

And now they're locking threads that aren't constructive.

Every service with a recurring fee requires you put in valid billing information before you get the service. Free trials, such as Netflix, require this information before you get the free time. That's because they want to make sure that they have proper information once the billing actually occurs.

This is much the same. The billing isn't happening now. You're just verifying the information. Any immediate charges aren't actual payments, they're merely authorization holds to, again, verify the account. They'll fall off in a few hours to a few days, depending on the bank.

They just want a "valid payment method" set up. You can cancel right after your 30 days are activated if you really wanted to.

Then wait until it's time to actually start paying for a subscription. 30-day preauth is amateur at best and shows a lack of confidence that people will re-up when it's time to sub.

Could be wrong but don't remember having to do it in FF14:RR? Just installed it all and off i went until it expired.

I do have to say that I am enjoying the game but when stuff like this happens it does P**s you off. Theres also no excuse for this stupid Que system. You think when it comes to payments that a company would make it the smoothest thing to do!

Yeah, this was/is a bad habit ALL these subscription based MMOs show, and a major reason why I didn´t get the Imperial Ed. and instead bought a normal Digital and a Game Time card.

NO WAY is ANY game company EVER getting my banking data!

Not in these times and everybody who still dares to tout the "just cancel your sub after 30 days" line needs to seriously have his head examined.
Or simply the identity stolen and bank account emptied. >:)

Why are you "forced" to pay with iDeal? I'm not defending a specific position. This is common practice amongst all MMO's.

A 30 day pre-authentication process isn't "amateur at best". It's common practice amongst every MMO.

Every other MMO? Name a single MMO with a reasonable amount of players where you pay for the game and 30 days of play, then after a 2 days they revoke your 30 days of play until you re-provide a payment method.

which ones? not ff14, not TERA (before it went to f2p), same with RIFT, Secret World, Warhammer Online, not even WoW. Not Lineage nor Everquest. No Aion. I played all this games from the start and none of them required to use full value to set up subscription. Some (Aion only afair) required to provide CC and allocated 1 cent. Simple as that.

It is not a common practice and it is very amateurish.
And what if I don't want to pay by CC? I want to buy game time cards at my retailer, so I can't register my code at all?

I am also disappointed. This kind of launch is a fail. This famous quote belongs with this game, ""There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again".

So now do you see why a mass accounts email was a good idea letting people know they had to log in and update account information?.. i recall there was a game not to long ago that died fast because of these type of problems. makes you go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I can confirm that Rift didn't require CC pre-auth. Their CS employees also had a sense of confidence and urgency that made me feel comfortable with their company.

Like most MMO's, there were some major security issues in the beginning, but they quickly solved it with their "coin lock" feature. Too bad they went F2P.
