20 Minutes to Enter Site?

I understand they have been prompting, on login, that subscription information must be entered by this weekend. This has been being prompted on launch for the past few days, so I cannot argue that there was no warning. However, I find it profoundly unprofessional for a company of this magnitude to prevent the customers from experiencing the game.

The method at which they have established for waiting in the que to access the account summary - all now required for in-game access (regardless of the fact that the 30 "free" days are included with your purchase) is ABSURD.

I have been waiting for 40 minutes, when the cue says I may enter the site in 20 minutes. There is no indication of how many users are in front of me in the que - only a statement saying "over 100 users are in front of you" which doesn't actually give any clear understanding of how many users there are. There could be 101, or 1,000,000 - you simply don't know. After 40 minutes of waiting, I FINALLY have an estimated wait time of 24 minutes - even while the top of the screen still states 20 minutes.

It is completely contradictory. I find it extremely unprofessional for Bethesda and the EOS team to have subscription status/game play configured in such a crude and inefficient manner. I agree that if it is known how many users have purchased a copy of the game, that it is reasonable to believe that many people will be LOCKED out of the game and attempting to access at the time that this subscription requirement goes into effect.

They simply do not appear to be prepared, have not thought this through, and do not have the resources available to accommodate this flood of confused people. I find this issue to be minute in terms of technicalities and what network resources would be required to handle this implemented change.

I am VERY displeased thus far with how EOS is communicated with its customers. I can be patient and wait to play the game (even though I spent 80$ to play this), on one of the 2 days a week I have off. What I cannot understand, is why there are no customer representatives from Bethesda sitting here on the forums answering questions, creating discussions in the forums - updating the website to include newly implemented changes that seem to be effecting the vast majority of us.

Step it up EOS. The game is amazing. It may need some tweaking, and adjusting - but its a terrific piece of art. Your website needs work, and your customer communication needs a complete overhaul.

Thank you for making this game, keep up the good work, and please try to communicate to use more openly.

(is my 24 minute wait up yet?)

Same thing happened to me. Not sure if my game crashed or it was a kick to initiate payment. But I have been crashing so damn much its hard to tell anymore. I am equally as pissed off as you are.

The quality of the web design for ESO forums and everything else is atrocious. You guys have a megaserver set up but have to instate a queue for your account login page?

Absolutely absurd. If I am still having login issues when I wake up I am going to be pissed off beyond belief.

Yes I just created a similar thread 20 minutes ago, no more vocal than yours. It has just been closed.

So they have staff online right now to close threads down and silence people whose views they don't like.

But not one of them has thought to perhaps put a thread on the forum to say:

"Sorry to hear you're having problems guys, this is why we've done it this way and we accept we have to make some improvements. Please bear with us, we're doing all we can to improve things."

Do I have to tell you how to do your job, Zenimax? It's not rocket science. Customer Relations = quite important.

One simple post can defuse so much anger, but you stay silent. That makes you look arrogant and like you couldn't care less.

Yes, I saw that they closed it as it's not constructive (their words). Well, let's see some constructive feedback on here from Zenimax about the shocking state of this game and how they intend to improve customer support over the next month.

Now, Zenimax, here is something constructive:

Host your web-site on Amazon or Azure and auto-scale and load-balance it. You will never run out of resource and we (the people paying you £9 a month) will never have a queue.

Only 1 hr and 4 mins to just enter an account page?

What the hell are Zenimax doing, we just seem to be bouncing from one f*** up to another atm.

Just to clarify - I love this game. I love what they've done and the effort they are putting in. It cannot be easy on them.

I am just trying to give some honest feedback so they might be able to improve their users' experiences. I am not trying to demean them in any way, just provide insightful feedback.

I should also state that once inside my account, it took all of 30 seconds to set up my subscription which instantly allowed me to login. My thinking is that they have their account information operating on alternative servers, which are being heavily weighed down right now. Your account information is likely not stored on the same mega server that you play the game on.

This would make sense to me as they would have to encrypt the server with more security due to the fact that it contains sensitive customer billing information. This server cannot be expected to match the performance of the mega servers the game is hosted on.

I would imagine that the launch of this game would actually begin to bring them revenue, which they HOPEFULLY in turn will invest into improving their network infrastructure to prevent large scale issues, such as this one.

Be patient people, go eat some breakfast, take a shower (we all know you need it), want wait your turn in line. Do some research on the website, read up about in game items you weren't aware of, learn of the other class's skills and abilities, and your que time will pass quickly.

Lets just keep our feedback positive and insightful, and hope it is taken into consideration - not deleted.

No idea what kind of clock they're using but mine has 60 seconds per minute.

The 19 minutes until I'm able to enter your website is already taking half an hour.

I am an engineer, not a wordmatician. I fixed it, just for you. Hope this makes you feel better.

If this is the 20 minutes thing you mention:

"You are in line for Queue. When it is your turn, you have 20 minutes to enter the site"

That just means when it's your turn, you have 20 minutes to login to your account or you lose your place in line.

Much of the rest of your post, I agree with.
