I understand they have been prompting, on login, that subscription information must be entered by this weekend. This has been being prompted on launch for the past few days, so I cannot argue that there was no warning. However, I find it profoundly unprofessional for a company of this magnitude to prevent the customers from experiencing the game.
The method at which they have established for waiting in the que to access the account summary - all now required for in-game access (regardless of the fact that the 30 "free" days are included with your purchase) is ABSURD.
I have been waiting for 40 minutes, when the cue says I may enter the site in 20 minutes. There is no indication of how many users are in front of me in the que - only a statement saying "over 100 users are in front of you" which doesn't actually give any clear understanding of how many users there are. There could be 101, or 1,000,000 - you simply don't know. After 40 minutes of waiting, I FINALLY have an estimated wait time of 24 minutes - even while the top of the screen still states 20 minutes.
It is completely contradictory. I find it extremely unprofessional for Bethesda and the EOS team to have subscription status/game play configured in such a crude and inefficient manner. I agree that if it is known how many users have purchased a copy of the game, that it is reasonable to believe that many people will be LOCKED out of the game and attempting to access at the time that this subscription requirement goes into effect.
They simply do not appear to be prepared, have not thought this through, and do not have the resources available to accommodate this flood of confused people. I find this issue to be minute in terms of technicalities and what network resources would be required to handle this implemented change.
I am VERY displeased thus far with how EOS is communicated with its customers. I can be patient and wait to play the game (even though I spent 80$ to play this), on one of the 2 days a week I have off. What I cannot understand, is why there are no customer representatives from Bethesda sitting here on the forums answering questions, creating discussions in the forums - updating the website to include newly implemented changes that seem to be effecting the vast majority of us.
Step it up EOS. The game is amazing. It may need some tweaking, and adjusting - but its a terrific piece of art. Your website needs work, and your customer communication needs a complete overhaul.
Thank you for making this game, keep up the good work, and please try to communicate to use more openly.
(is my 24 minute wait up yet?)
