The basic first tier crafting writs are now even more efficient and cheaper in terms of mats than they used to be, and the rewards, in addition to cash, are tier 1 mats, ornate and intricate weapons, armor and jewelry, crafting mat maps, provisioning recipes, glyphs, & alchemy ingredients. Top tier writs award you all of the above plus mats from all levels, a few rare ingredients, and occasional master crafting writs that you can do for special rewards via writ vouchers.
So gold, mats, various other stuff that you can sell for more gold (or make use of yourself).
