Zone orientated Group Finder

Not to be confused with the group finder we all know and don't love.

It would be cool if there was something like a smart lobby. Something to automate the advertising in chats.

For instance, if you have a daily Summerset quest, instead of spamming, 'G for Gryphon, have quest' then adding people, it would be nice if there was a list of 'Public Groups', so you have the ability to make your group public and declare its stated goal per zone.

So, you could create a group, make it public, set the goal for Gryphon WB, anybody can join it up until the group starts attacking the Gryphon WB, and it will automatically share the quest.

Or

NORMAL Trials

Only the public group host can set a CP requirement.

I wouldn't recommend having Vet Trials like this.

Could have Public groups for all sorts of things, even RP. Like a Tavern Group.

Originally, group finder had an option for forming overland groups. It was removed years ago, presumably because nobody used it.

Other games have been doing this for 10+ years. ESO wants to be... unique. No LFG system, here. No minimaps. Nope. We can't do things like that. We would lose our uniqueness even if it adds some much needed functionality.

Cool, didn't know this, this was probably before they introduced all the dailies?

I'm thinking it would have to be more of a lobby like system, where the groups goal is clearly declared, and people can create groups with a name. I would definitely use that, jump back to wrothgar for some dailies there even.

I like this idea. Could even be used for a WB run through an alliance zone - I see folks sometimes advertising for those and enjoy healing for them on occasion. :)

Much better than trying to listen to the spam on zone chat for the occasional 'LF...' of interest.

Or better yet, for the WB's, have the fighters guild handle it.

If you go to the fighters guild, speak to an NPC, you will get put in a group with no leader, and it will designate world bosses to kill and give you any daily quests along the way. Save having to run back and cashing the quest each time, just moving onto the next one. Like a little crusade around the zone.

If you join the group, it won't matter what WB quest they are up to because it will keep cycling between them all. So people can join and jump out at any time, the rotation will continue.

That would be awesome to see a zerg stampede of PVE'ers running the zone between world bosses.

They should have done that from the beginning, rather than the present daily system, it'd also make the fighters guild something of value rather than just 5 quests.

Mages guild could have something similar for the Trials (Normal).

That sounds good in theory, but the number of times you join the group and the boss dies before you can get to it would get old fast. It woudln't even be the fault of anyone. How long does a group wait before engaging? At any point, someone else might get tossed into the group. Many world bosses take 1 minute or less to kill and the travel time to that boss can be at least that much.

That is the point, if it is a group on permanent rotation, no need to cash in the quest until the end, it won't matter. Move onto the next boss, the rotation will come back to the boss you missed in the end. If you plan on doing all 6 WB's on Summerset, but the first boss died before you got there, you just move on with the group to the 2nd, then 3rd, then 4th, then 5th, then 6th, then do the 1st. People will leave and join throughout all the time.

They'd need to scrap the going back to cash each daily, and just allow you to tally up all the WB's then cash them all in when you are done.

Edit: Actually, it could be the Mages Guild in charge of the WB rotation and have the Fighters guild in charge of the Geyser / Dolmens rotations.

The 'Rotation Groups' are not normal groups with a leader, they are groups that have the quest, and are permanent world events.

Ah, I see now. It would require a format change for how quests work so they may not be too keen on that, but it would add a level of functionality and ease of use to those doing world bosses. It would work in busier zones for sure. Older zones or those with less run WB's might run into some issues, but if the system works, then everyone on a WB in any given zone would all be on the same one. Still some issues, but it's an idea worth exploring.

Yeah, just move the quest giver to the Fighters / Mage Guild, and have the quest not require cashing in until the end. So the quest will say, Kill any World Boss (Optional Kill A, B, C, D, E and F for more). The unique thing is, this quest, if you accept it, will throw you into a group that has no leader.

Wouldn't need to do it for older zones, they don't have WB rewards. Morrowind, Summerset, Gold Coast, Wrothgar, and various others do have this function though, and are used, and would get more popular if they enabled it. If I can do the Summerset dailies easily, I'd probably do some in Wrothgar and Morrowind too.

Although, it would make farming overworld sets easier, so it will be popular for Spriggans and Mothers Sorrow sets.

Also it won't necessarily put everyone in the same group, maybe on the Gold Coast it would, what with there only being 2 WB's.

In Summerset though, 6WB's could have 3 groups. Boss 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Have Group A directed to Boss 1, Group B directed at Boss 3 and Group C directed at boss 5. Each group would be 1 boss apart. Or just 2 groups would also be fine.
