Another Blazing Shield nerf!

"Since shields now scale with your Armor, we wanted to ensure this ability wasn't doing too much for its cost and effectiveness." Really? Cost is huge at the moment and the damage...well abysmal.

    Both Blazing Shield and Bone Shield got a PvE buff due to resistance. ZOS nerfed them both keeping their overall utility the same.

    Blazing Shield: Reduced the amount of damage that this ability deals from a maximum of 42% of the shield size to 30%.
    Developer Comment:


    Since shields now scale with your Armor, we wanted to ensure this ability wasn't doing too much for its cost and effectiveness. The shield should now absorb more damage, but its total damage dealt has slightly decreased to compensate.

    This doesn't make any *** sense to me, this is the PTS tooltip of Blazing Shield:
    Surround yourself with solar rays, granting a damage shield equal to 30% of your Max Health for 6 seconds.

    Each nearby enemy increases the shield's strength by 4% when the shield is activated.

    When the shield expires it explodes outward, dealing 30% of the damage it absorbed to nearby enemies.

    See the problem here is that the damage that you deal is based on the damage that the shield take, and the damage that the shield takes is now reduced, which means it simply takes more hits/stronger hits to damage the shield. HOWEVER, the damage that the shield can actually absorb IS THE SAME. The Damage potential of Blazing Shield had not changed, if anything it required MORE damage to deal the same amount of damage. This is basically a double nerf to Blazing, a skill that was already nerfed enough to where people stopped using it for its damage. Radiant will be the go to for Templar tanks imo now. Still this is a BS nerf, it makes no sense.

    Bingo! It is like ZOS don't even understand what they are saying. Shields don't "scale with your armor".

    Yeah, in their response ZOS literally justified the opposite of what they did.

    Without the dmg nerf, blazing shield will do less dmg because it will absorb less dmg due to resists.

    If they actually wanted to do what they said they wanted, they would have lowered the max amount of the shield.. which would have still been a nerf to total dmg.

    It makes sense though because ZOS seems to absolutely hate Blazeplars.

    I have not given my Blazing Shield Templar a second thought in a long time but this, this is dumb why double nerf a morph so rarely seen?

    At least your shield is now stronger and you do not have to cast it as much, therefore safe the huge costs and benefit from longer and stronger shields. Sadly this rather hurts the one playstyle, which actually uses that skill.
