Quest: Retaking the Pass

In this quest, after having collected and placed the three skulls, you have to close three shadow portals but it is not possible to close the gates. When you kill the three mages who guard each portal, they will instantly respawn and quest dialogue trigger again. It is not possible to close the portals, nor are they actually interactable, between the time you kill the mages and they respawn.

This is blocking my passage to the next faction for the veteran ranks, and it is simply ridiculous how this issue has not been fixed yet after a week.

For me he disappears, the NPC "Indaenir" that you talk to after releasing the skulls will disappear once you reach the lower level on your way to the cave.

Though relogging seems to spawn him with you, but he doesn't have enough time to close the portals, and it will go into an infinite loop

Aldmeri progress is halted as well.

This is not actually 100 percent correct, yes retaking the pass is bugged, yes it halts progress and yes it sucks, you can simply go to Malabal tor, and continue to quest, once you get to reapers march you'll get quests from the queen again..

I'm not defending them, I wish this quest was fixed for many reasons including the fact that it halts progress on the main story to a degree, just giving you some friendly advice

That's good to know. Although I don't want to start skipping around, it's nice that there's a workaround for the time being. Thanks.

Np, and believe me I agree completely, I waited around for two days hoping they would fix this quest, and eventually I said screw it and moved on.

That's a slight relief, though i heard you have to do this in veteran as well. But i assume that is only for the other factions

Take your time do not rush this, I don't want to scare you so I wont, just take your time and enjoy the game lol

It has been fixed, but the patch hasn't been published yet.

I'd suspect that it will be out tomorrow, as Sunday is scheduled maintenance day (along with Wednesday).

The quote is from a moderator in response to another thread about the same issue. The quest has been fixed, but the patch hasn't yet been released. I suspect it will be rolled out on Sunday, but that's just speculation.

In the meantime, contact CS and they can manually fix the quest for you. Although at this point, I suspect the patch might come out before they have a chance to manually fix it for players with newly created tickets.
