In the class rep meeting notes they mentioned zos is aware of this issue. Hopefully it gets fixed: DW should have half value enchants, and half value nirn/infused.

Nerfing dual wield like this, won't make people use 2 hander or bow in pve. It will make people reroll to magicka. It won't solve anything.

- Update 23Ice Furnace: This item set now grants Spell Damage, rather than Weapon Damage for the 4 piece bonus

Whether they double the 2h bonus (which would apply to staves too) or halve the DW bonus is functionally the same. Devs already want to pull in the reigns on DPS so it would make sense to nerf a little instead of buff. Plus, fewer DW skill line than 2h skill lines. Not sure what would to do about 1h & shield though... (Infused crusher would take a big nerf)

Why nirn? Nirn on the main hand is the same value as nirn on a two hander, and nirn on the off hand is significantly less value considering the off hand only contributes like 20% of its tooltip damage to your actual weapon and spell damage stats. Nirn isn't the problem, the discrepancy between tooltip damage between two handed and dual wield is the problem, and it exists because of the off hand.

Because the nirn trait on mainhand gives the full bonus (same bonus 2h gets), AND DW gets infused on the offhand - a full value infused. So DW has two full traits, when clearly it is should work like sharpened, precise, defending, etc which each gives half value for 1h weapons.

This makes me wonder if it would be beneficial to go with unenchanted nirnhoned main-hand weapon and infused enchanted off-hand and benefit fully from this...
Anybody know if the enchant is guaranteed to proc on the off-hand when the main-hand doesn't have an enchantment, like the main-hand enchant on weapons is normally guaranteed?
I smell an easy exploit of intended game mechanics, which they shouldn't punish players ever for as it is within their power to correct and fast. Move it or lose it, devs.
So it starts for heavy attacked with h2 weapon, and we are now calling on nerf for DW. Lets just nerf everything guys it will be the best game ever.....

It would honestly be healthier to cut the strength of 1H enchantments in half than it would be to double the strength of 2H enchants. Can you imagine how broken an infused 2H enchant would be if they did that?

*They don't need to touch enchants at all. They can come with a new weapon type that give 2 hander crit bonus, and maybe rework a bit the 2 hander passives. 2 hander firestaff doesn't have double enchant either but still competitive, because of the passives in destruction staff skill line. If zos cut DW enchants in half and call that a solution, I'm quitting this game for good.

Can I have your stuff then?

Next patch, all damaging weaponing ablitys will proc off cooldown on a single attack, like rending Slashs. No need to do what you are saying, put a disease/absorb stamia on your main hand and infused berzerk off hand and you will have the main hand enchant going off every 4 seconds and your berzerk every 5. No light attacks needed. This is too strong.
Please let DW have something special to this skill line. You are holding 2 weapons. If we go to the direction all should be the same then DW needs a GAP closer like H2. Otherwise that is to overpowered for H2.
