Snipe does not have a CC. Attacking from stealth with any ability stuns your target. Fix the desync bug and leave snipe alone. That's about all that should be done about it.
Yet another reason why cast time skills just don't belong in this game. A cast time warrants a more powerful skill, because the cast time makes the skill more slow/less efficient. They should just remove the cast time, reduce damage and remove defile, and make snipe the bow spammable. A lot more healthy for the game, and opens up new gameplay possibilities.
Spamming snipe from stealth on people who are already fighting requires 0 skill, 0 risk and it has huge impact on the fight. It is terrible combat design and empowers braindead gameplay.

It's not silly. With all the changes in other skills surrounding PVP, the one thing that is truly broken in PVP that is hard to counter is Snipe because of the dysyncing. It's different than animation canceling because the players who know how to use their rotation properly and hit someone with 3 skills in a second are doing so by their own skill. Snipe, on the other hand, is a broken desync in which ZOS has acknowledged. Its actually arguably the worst skill in the game by far. The dude above literally said the desync is the only problem...Umm...The skill hits for 6k and adds a defile from 40m away what on earth how is that even okay? There's too many things wrong with the skill. Desync just amplifies the problems, but the problems are still there even without the desync.
Seriously, all this arguing about mag shields which is in my opinion drawing away the attention from the biggest issue in PvP right now..
Snipe.
- They CC you from stealth (which exacerbates the next point)
- They desync meaning while you're getting CC'd by the first snipe, a second and third snipe will hit instantly which means there is NO counterplay
- They do about 5-7k damage on heavy armour builds, which is in fact stronger than most people's dawnbreakers
- They add defile, which is already *** considering the ridiculous scaling of befoul
- AND its now the first *** skill on the bow line, meaning level 20s can walk around in stealth making solo/small scale players lives miserable
- Nightblades have the safety of being able to stealth if their snipe fails, allowing them to then STALK YOU AND JUST SNIPE YOU AGAIN...
Like I dont understand. Rune cage got nerfed because it had uninteractable cc's that did damage, yet you have this god damn skill that basically nukes to death before you can even react to it
And yeah, you've nerfed shields to 40% of Max Health so you're basically putting a bulls-eye on most magicka characters saying come snipe me I'm free AP.
Who else thinks this skill needs to be one of the priorities?
