Definitely will fix shield stacking.

Your math needs work. 40% of 20k is 8k.
Besides, the actual average DPS HP is ~17k without Ebon or Minor Toughness.
Shield scaling should only take self buffs into account. 40% of 17k is less than 7k and that's crap. It's not worth running a 7k shield in endgame PvE.PC-NA Goat - Bleat Bleat Baaaa6 -

✭✭✭✭I’m curious what the base ability is going to be? Instant cast 40% sounds fine as a base skill Annulment, but there’s gotta be more to a morph than that. They definitely can’t be asking mag users to start out using a 1s cast time ability, then morph into instant after every one is comfortable with the style of play on live.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭An 8k max shield in PVP is useless. 1 hit that crits from most stam builds and the shield is gone. This may be worse that the cast time here. You will either never be able to keep your defense up reliably or all you will be doing is spamming the shield every second until you die. Especially when outnumbered.
In PVE, this seems ok. Not great, but the resistances on the shield and the inability for PVE to crit or reduce resistances make the shield stronger anyways. So 8K seems fine there.6 -

✭✭Well, it’s good to know they do listen. And it’s good that we do get an option between instant cast and shield strength, at least. Though with a nerf to shield strength, now I’ll be forced to shield stack!
Though I’m curious, if shield-stacking is the concern, why don’t they just disallow shield-stacking?4 -

The Devs ended our conversation with the thought whether or not a morph choice would be well received, that is if one morph had a one-second cast time and you got a large shield and another morph which removed the cast-time, but you’d get a smaller shield (the strengths were not mentioned specifically).2 -

So now light armour users the only glass cannons left in pvp are going to join the heavy armour high hp train in cp.PS4 EU DC
