    This "sorcerers are dead now" remains me when they introduced the streak nerf. Guess what ? Sorcs were still VERY GOOD in PVP and PVE. It'll be the same with this patch : we can still shield stack but not as fast as before, and we can't be interrupted to do it.

    The real concern is how OP NB are, and will still be compared to other classes, and how stamplars are still way behind the others. Other classes are in a good way to balance one from another.

    I don’t understand how Sorcerers still have the reputation of being overpowered to so many people. It is pretty much unanimous in the end game PVE community that they are one of the weakest classes at the moment. I don’t think any serious PVPers consider them top notch either. Somehow they’re still the subject of daily nerf threads and continue to get knocked down every patch.

    drop resto for s&b, slot spellwall and defensive stance (replacing harness), drop hardened ward for energy orb.

    Defensive stance is crap because it doesn't reflect physical stuff. Energy orb heals terribly slow and if you kite you loose the healing.

    I saw this same process happen in a different MMO which I played for years. Certain developers had a certain vision or a certain idea of what the game should be like, and they implemented it, completely ignoring the feedback of their players. Changes drove players away, drove players from pvp, at one point causing probably half of the pvp playerbase to quit at once. Did they reverse those changes they made that caused such a large departure of players? No, and in fact at some points they doubled down on those changes and made things worse.

    Your feedback really just doesn't matter all that much. Don't be surprised if things go live in a state that will upset a large portion of the playerbase, even causing some of them to quit, because of some developer's grand vision or whatever.

    Please stop crying about the cast time and just adapt. Sorcs have negated all crit chance, crit damage and penetration investment for the entirety of this game's existence. This is a good change. I hope zos doesn't just listen to the loud moaners on the forum and instead sticks to their guns.

    They enforce the meta shift. Remember morrowind? Cast time is nowhere near that sustain nerf. That sustain nerf completely changed direct attack based dps rotation. What would this cast time bring? Adapt or you have the right to leave this game.

    Is a known fact that Pools are useless when it comes to balance, that's why you never going to see the DEVs making pools for balance discussions.
    I saw the dozen pools you made last week, if i was a mod i would probably closed and/or delete the posts to avoid this exact situation. Balance is not done by going what the majority thinks, specially when the majority doesn't even understand the game well enough to actually give accurate feedback or is completly biased.

    Probably nobody in the dev team cares about the result of your pools, and nobody should. That being said, i dont like the cast time on shields.

    I'm completely baffled to see they didn't remove this idiocy entirely on 4.2.1. I HATE shield spamming sorcs and even I know this decision is completely awful.

    I have seen developers doing that on another PvP MMO (WH).
    I also have taken screenshots of when they closed down their last server.

    Apparently they had annoyed a bit too many players.

    Oh, I don't disagree. Just pointing out that its not "baffling" why they didn't revert the nerf in 4.2.1. They did exactly what they said they'd do. And they might (for better or for worse) make further adjustments later.

    I'm not comparing sorcs to thieves, i'm comparing a poll about sorcs to a poll about thieves (because both will be biased in a similar way).

    Community needs more than 1 week with the changes thou... I agree cast times are pretty bad but I've learnt to deal with them on Templar since beta.

    A better question might be: How can you have a statistically relevant poll on a forum who's responders are a minor portion of the game population and who self-select for whether or not they are going to answer the poll question?

    Frankly, you can't. The question/answer could be the most unbiased thing to ever be objective, but the sampling is just plain bad methodology.

    Counter-play to damage shields doesn't seem that easy to do without pissing off anyone who uses them routinely (mostly in PvP). Player 1 uses shields to counter incoming damage. Player 2 gets mad because Player 1 is too hard to kill and is OP. A 1 second cast time isn't that bad, they could have added a cooldown so you could only cast the shield once every "x" seconds.

    For those running builds that rely on shields, how would YOU counter your character if you met them in PvP? What counter-play would you like to see? Try to be constructive rather than "1 sec shield cast time sucks and kills sorcs!!"

    Already plenty of counters to shields. The problem is most folks don't want to work for the kill vs a sorc. If they can't kill someone in one GCD then obviously that needs a nerf.

    I believe counter play was mentioned. 1s cast time is not counter play. Zos took the lazy route.

    Other ideas have been suggested such as a weakening of subsequent uses of shields during a short time frame which would also effect stacking. This is probably the best idea. Especially if each application was weaker until the player allowed the debuff to fall off.

    It would mean a player could not keep the shield up for eternity forcing more strategic use of the shields which is what Zos has stated is their intent.

    People as for no more shield stack.

    Sentence seems incomplete. Well, at least I do not understand it which pretty much does not surprise me.
