*grin*.5500 dot which ignores resistances and dmg reduction. It's kinda funny, after "nerfing" defiles they added even more powerfull, easily procced, mechanic which stacks with defile. And the only class which can really compete with this set is nb (due to cloak), which is highly overperforming atm. So ye, great design. Almost as good as shieldbreaker. But we can always slot shields to coutner it... Oh, wait...
Btw, metabuild next patch: heavy stamblade with troll king, master duals, sload and this set. This gonna be gud
So it does less damage then sheer venom is what you’re saying?
It’s not a DoT at all, it’s burst damage effectively because all the healing prevention happens upfront.leepalmer95 wrote: »DeadlyRecluse wrote: »What if they made it 2000, or even 1000 VS. 5500 and NOT be stackable? I think if it was 2000-2500 or so and didn't stack, nobody would really have a problem with it (especially if the proc chance was brought down a little, increasing the breathing room you'd get between procs to heal up).
Then it's locking you out of 2-3 vigor ticks. Or dulling (but not erasing) your next burst heal. No biggie, but still strong if there's burst in that window.
No one would use the set, why would you use a set that does less damage then viper? And didn’t stack.
I mean you realize this set technically only does slightly more damage then vma two hander right? If you consider it even damage.
Viper is a dot, this isn't.
So Its useless vs Hots is what you're saying and stronger vs Burst Heals
No it'll negate like 3s worth of hots is what i'm saying and it has a 4s cooldown.
3s of non heals after i burst you is more than enough time to kill you.
Oh and it stacks.
And again every 4s...
Only its not every 4 seconds; Its got a 4 second cooldown yes but its a 25% chance that it'll go off.
and 3 seconds of non heals? You realize the amount of healing I put out in 3 seconds?
On a what? A healer sure.
On a non healer? Or a stamina character?
The proc chance is a joke i can light attack + rending someone and thats 3 hits so 75%...
It's basically going to proc on cooldown.
I'm confused why you are defending the set?
That's not 75%
Its actually something around 57% or 66% chance I believe to go off.
Why am I defending this set? Because I remember everyone on here going off about how Sloads was going to kill the solo game and ruin the game.
you know how many times i've died to sloads before the nerf? 0
Its like people right now saying "Oh you're going to have 3 or 4 people running this set getting on ya and killing ya because you can't heal" while completely ignoring that if those 3 or 4 people swapped on some more damage they'll probably instant gib ya unless they're complete potato's
Last thing this game needs is more garbage sets, This set is going to be a Garbage set after everyone's done crying about it.

Soldier of Anguish
This set was designed to put pressure on single targets. Soldier of Anguish applies Heal Absorption, which acts like a reverse Damage Shield. Like Damage Shields, Heal Absorption was not intended to be stackable from the same source and we are already in the process of resolving this bug. Unlike Damage Shields, Heal Absorption is not currently affected by battle spirit and after reviewing some of the comments and testing the set in a greater variety of PvP scenarios, we’ve come to agreement that Soldier of Anguish is over-performing, and its values will be re-evaluated.

Here is a response. I'm glad they recognized that not only would it be too powerful if it stacked, but even in a 1v1 situation it would be the obvious choice for all stam builds. Hopefully the updated version of this set will be balanced, but we will see.

Working as intended sadly

You're not the real Xsorus because you didn;t make a reference to DAOC.
Call ZOS customer service, your account was hacked by someone who has never died to Sloads.

Then call for nerfs when things don't go well? Sounds like a plan! Working as intended. Bowtard forever
PTS Patch Notes v4.2.1:
Soldier of Anguish: Reduced the healing absorption value to 4800 from 5500, and the healing absorption debuff from this set can no longer stack with itself.
Developer Comment:
Damage shields from multiple sources cannot be stacked. We want healing absorption to follow this same ruleset.
While I'm grateful that they changed the set, it still looks a bit too strong to me. Imo, they should either further reduce the value for the healing absorption (maybe to 4000?) or give the set a longer cooldown/lower proc chance.

something needed to be done, it looks like a very good step in the right direction.
