I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

5100 health (out of 45K) for 3000 magicka?
That's good enough to use it for sustain on my tank.
But its Equilibrium morph also gives Major Ward and Major Resolve for 27 seconds!

It's a staple of my tank skills.

I use it to bloodport in Cyrodiil.

Spamming equilibrium while running into a resource speeds it up.

Need to port directly to the gates from a friendly keep? Equilibrium yourself down to low health, jump off the top of the keep.

    On my tank, yes.

On a dps? maybe? It would be very situational.

In Cyrodiil? That's a great tool to assist in death porting around the map.

Overall I'd say it's a more useful skill than most even if it looks like a bad tradeoff from many points of view.

Loosing a huge chunk of health for a comparatively small return on magicka? Not gonna lie, whenever I look at that skill I feel like it's some sort of joke. It's the most garbage skill in the game by a landslide - even worse than trapping webs (which is at least kind of fun to use).

Why would I use that skill on a magicka character and risk killing myself when I could just heavy attack to get resources back? Why would I use that skill on my tank when he's a stamina character and magicka return does absolutely nothing for him? The only use I see for the skill is if I made a magicka frost staff tank. Even then, the health cost just makes me shake my head and go "yeah, no... I'll just heavy attack, thanks."

It's a great skill for tanking. Very small health exchange when you fill in the passives and level it up, and a great way to help with magicka management.

Uhm. It gives you major resistance buff. So it replaces hardened armor. Also it last for a long time.

5k health on a tank is nothing to get back 3k magic. 3k magic is a good bit for a tank.

For a DD to help sustain.

You only can’t heal yourself good. Someone else can heal you no problem.

Try try try as you might. Can’t entirely kill yourself with it.

That being said. There’s some instances you don’t want to use it.

Your poll doesn't have "No, never." as an option. Tried it as a NB tank, hated it. I could up my magicka restoration game with it, but Siphoning Attacks is superior, and Deep Thoughts is better than both of them in every way.
AD is the best looking faction. I don't make the rules, I just enforce them.

You have to remember that on the vast majority of tank builds our Magicka is where almost every ability comes from. Stamina is for blocking, taunting, and maiming. That's about it. The staff heavy is so ridiculously slow that it's a terrible choice mid combat, so we need a better way to get Magicka back. Most tanks are also DKs, and Balance gives us the Major Resolve and Ward for far longer than Hardened Armor does.

Losing around a sixth of our health to get back around a fifth of our Magicka is a trade off most tanks can easily make.

It finds it's way onto my skill bars sometimes, even if it's just to see if the healer is still awake.

It's quite an old and outdated skill from before heavy attacks restored resources. When trials were just impulse spamming-skirt wearers and the warlock set was the most expensive and rarest thing in the game.

I don't really look at builds - I come up with stuff on my own. When the hardest content I do is vet dungeons and normal trials, I neither need nor am pressured to follow cookie cutters. I kind of refuse to make a DK tank, because... boring... lol. It looks like some folks have figured out some use for it, though it seems very niche. I suppose if I built my templar tank to be more of an off-healer it would have some use, but that doesn't really fit his character. If I could sacrifice health to get stamina back, though... man. I want that skill for him. :D
