First of all I'm not a Sorcerer main myself
First of all I'm not a Sorcerer main myself but playing PvP for almost 3 years and encountering a lots of Sorcerers gave me a conclusion.
What is a Sorcerer? In the MMO genre Sorcerers, Wizards, or Mage archetype is a range magic user class that casts strong magic spells at a distance, this doesn't differ in the TES universe.
However, since the popularity of shield stacking build, I think sorcerers just lost their true identity and since then been a plague in PvP. Instead of being played as a range magic class, almost all of the sorcerers I've encountered plays them as a shield stacker which can facetank like a heavy DK whilst also deal tons of damage. With the current changes I think we are now going to see a proper mage that is squishy by nature but deals heavy damage at a distance with a high risk plays at close range. That said, the damage shield changes is good news for non-sorc players but I think they need to be somehow compensated in other areas to make them a truly proper mage not a spellsword wannabe since in TES universe, those two are different things.
You clearly lack understanding on this subject and I don’t know where to start. I will just mention the most obvious and that this change isn’t a kid shield stacking at all. It’s the use of magicka based shields at its core.

I've got both DK and Templar. I've never relied too much in shield stacking in either of them especially my templar which leaves Sorcs the one that truly benefits from this. I'm just saying that they are now proper mages as how mages should be played plus It's not l2p issue, fighting a sorc that is equally skilled as you still gives them a slight upperhand specifically once they pop those CC immunity pots.

No one cares how YOU think mages should be played. What is a "proper mage" and why does it matter in the absolute slightest? This change does the opposite of balance it creates imbalance.
