issue with login rewards needs to be fixed: end of the month rewards are too hard to obtain

Maybe I'm biased but I find it a little disturbing how many people act like it's the strangest thing in the world if a video game isn't your sole priority and some people aren't willing or able to plan the rest of their lives around it. I appreciate everyone's situation is different and not everyone has a job or family or other hobbies, but surely you can at least understand that for some people ESO is just entertainment - a fun way to spend some free time - and not something to schedule all your other plans around?

Imagine if a movie was only shown at 2pm on weekdays, for a couple of weeks. Sure people who want to see it could take the time off work, but is that a reasonable expectation? Or should the theatre recognise that seeing a movie is not the most important thing in their customers lives and attempt to schedule it so it's convenient for the maximum number of people? Why is a game any different?

(And yes we can, and do, just skip getting the login rewards. But IMO a reward system which is acceptable to players only because they can ignore it is not good game design.)

it simply isn't reasonable to expect people to log in a full four weeks within a month in order to get the big rewards.

I propose a new system: there should only be 22 login rewards total in a 30 day month, 23 in in a 31 day month, and 21 in february. the 7th reward, 14th reward, and the last 4 rewards of each month should be a big reward.

proposed examples of a "big reward" for this system include: crown crates, experience scrolls, 30k gold, 30k alliance points, 15k tel var stones, 1k crowns, 50% off an ESO+ subscription (applied to one payment of any size), or 1 piece of DLC. (please note: the value of gold, alliance point, and tel var stone rewards has been proposed under the assumption that, as this post suggests, big log rewards will be plentiful in quantity throughout the month, and easy to obtain.)

this new system would considerably reward regular players; as opposed to the current system, which discourages players from continuing to log in, because the big reward near the end of the month is, for all practical purposes, unattainable.

This is the first month we have a 28-pieces reward table, so it's an experiment. Besides I don't think it's hard to log in for 5 minutes every day unless you aren't at home for some reason...

It's not hard if it's all you've got to do at the time. When I've got 20 minutes between waking up and needed to be out the door, and won't be home again until the next day (or later) it gets harder. Then I've got to switch the computer on, wait for it to start, open ESO and wait for it to load, put my password in, wait for it to load again and hit enter to log into a character, wait for it to load again, collect the reward and then lot out and shut the computer down, all in between doing everything else I need to get ready. It's possible but it's very annoying having to stop what I'm doing and go back to the computer for the next step, and having done it once I'd say it's definitely not worth the hassle unless you really want the final reward and can't afford to lose yet another day. (For example I wouldn't bother this month because while 100k gold is a lot it's only gold and I can get gold in other, less annoying, ways.)

But I think you're right that it's an experiment. It's a new system for them and they're playing around with numbers of days and rewards to see what works for the most number of people. Personally I wish they'd do it the way other games do where the rewards aren't removed at the end of the month so if you miss days you fall behind but don't lose out completely. but I guess they think this works better, at least for now.

I find it way more disturbing that the forum are inundated with people like you who feel entitled to every little thing. The system is simple, log in = get rewards. If you have more important things to do then accept that you won't get the reward and get over it. If you want the reward, make the time to log in for 5 min a day, simple as that. Not everything in life will cater to your personal situation, nor should it. Plenty of people, myself included, won't be getting all 28 days for any number of reasons.

Dont know what’s so hard about that one... log in, get a reward. Don’t log in, no reward. Done.
That’s the concept of a daily (!) login (!) reward.

    No-one is entitled to anything.

    Free stuff is free stuff.

Thanks ZOS for giving us free stuff.

But please next month could you make it just a few less days to get the big reward? Imagine this month's rewards were exactly the same but the 100k was on day 25 it would be a lot more user friendly for people who work and have families.

The whole point of having daily log in rewards... is to log in daily to get the rewards!

I was actually surprised that we don't need to log in every single day to get the big reward at the end.

It's more than fine as it is imho.

If it is important to someone to get it, then 5 min in their life is not that much.
If they have more important things in their life, then good for them either beacuse it is either a good thing(family, holiday etc.) or because they are responsible adults(not neglecting their duties).

It is natural to have many activities in our lifes, but expecting that anything you choose to do for entertainment will offer their best whatever your situation is unrealistic. Movie theatres at my city offers better prices in weekdays altough I can't go only in weekends.

It is natural that many people will demand things for their best interests, and will say whatever it takes to achieve them.

It's not a matter of 1 minute time, but a matter of not being at home; even 1 second is not possible in that case.

It seems that ZOS prefers 30 logins with 1 minute 'play' time, than players who are not able to login every day but who actually do play the game for more than 20 hours a week.

Not really? They made a reward system with rules, how long you play for has nothing to do with it.

I know people that drive trucks all week that likely can't login, should they make it so there are only 8 rewards so everyone and their brother can get them?

    The entitlement is crazy here...

I couldn't make it so I didn't get the book. It was so unfair. What were they thinking giving away things ONLY to people who attended? I submitted a nasty letter to the organisers. Next time they should just give it to everyone on the planet.

Be ready for 31 days of log-ining in november if you want to get free Mirkmure DLC.
Not every player can get the last reward? Thats the ZoS plan, to make this reward missed as mutch players as possible, to save their goddyes and stimulate people to buy it.
Just like in TESL, 1 day missed and you'll get no legendary card. They don't care about your reason, they want you sit in home and log in every day or donate.
Funny to see all thouse comments from kids and slackers who always sit in close radius from their computer. But this is a real world and not everyone can quit all the business and go for computer with TESO installed to get daily reward. You know, all thouse people who living in real world, not a Barby'es kingdom.

It would be nice if it was log in, click and done. But for me by the time my creaky old PC finally boots up 10 mins have passed, then 4 or 5 mins to actually login. Then 2 or 3 mins to shut down. A 20 minute job. But this isn't what bothers me, it is the fact that sometimes you can't log on, full stop. In July I was on a weeks vacation, no chance to log in, luckily that month it was only 21 log-ins to get the "star prize". This month if I had gone on vacation there is no chance to get the 100K gold. OK, it is just "tough", but maybe a good compromise would be have the star prize at 21-23 days or something, but still have rewards like experience scrolls etc out to the end of the month.

I'll be on vacation in November and most likely be unable to get the Murkmire reward from the daily login. But you know what, who cares, it's a game. And the login reward is just that, a log in reward. It isn't Zos' fault that I or anyone else has real life things that prevent logging in. Zero accommodations need to be made. Sometimes you can't log in, get over it.

if you can afford to take a weeks vacation you can afford a 3-600 dollar used laptop to take with you to log into ESO. Alternatively you can use your fancy mobile phones to connect to your desktop and launch ESO, log in, collect.

In some cases a game company should take responsibility; in some cases they shouldn't. ZOS is already providing free stuff and if you can't participate 100% then that's on you.

Literally make it happen on your own terms; there are ways.

First you have folks who go on 'vacation', then people talk about work 'scheduling', neglecting your spouse/other half. 100k is small potatoes not that big of a deal to miss it.

Let us know if you feel the same way in November when the big reward is the new DLC.

That said, if Zeni - or anyone else - thinks I'm going to shove my desktop into my suitcase just to be able to log in while on vacation, they'd better be posting from the Shivering Isles, because they're raving mad.

Seeing as the majority of players have ESO Plus where the DLC is included, Not a big deal tbh. I have never bought a DLC because I never plan to play without my sub.

As for the rest of this thread full of entitlement, You all sound like whiny little brats! “I cAnT LoG iN EvErYdAy, BuT I wAnT tO bE rEwArDeD tHe SaMe As PeOpLe ThAt Do” come on man! I cant even believe this is a discussion tbh. If you dont have time, You just dont have time. Youre not missing anything thats game changing. Your character doesnt get any better, You dont get any buffs. Most of it is just junk unless its a crown crate or outfit.

You can tell whos mature or not when they freak out over missing LOG IN REWARDS when they DIDNT LOG IN. **huge eyeroll*

That defeats the purpose of having a grand prize - because few people would make the effort to log in every day once they got that, and the rest of the month was filler prizes.

Sometimes you can get the prize, sometimes you can't. It's the way the world works.

It was better when you didn’t have to log in 28 days of the month. There should be 7 days of wiggle room.

If this isn't the biggest cry over I need all the free stuff.

I barely get to play anymore. In fact I don't think I've done anything in game for about 3 weeks. I even find time to log in to get the daily reward. You sit at loading screens longer than you need to actually be logged in to get the rewards.

I actually they should make better rewards. Like have a 6 month reward. Where if you log in 170 out of 180 days you get your choice of an Radiant Apex mount of maybe just Apex, if you log in say 320 days out of 365 you get a Radiant or choice of any house or whatever.

Have those rewards and the monthly ones.

No, and guess what? I leave my house all the time.

Per the thread title: There is no "issue" with login rewards that requires "fixing" except that people understand there are two choices:

    1) Make the effort and login the required amount of days set by the system.
    2) Accept that you won't get the reward should you not be able to for whatever reason (excepting ZOS technical issues)

Neither of those choices makes you a bad person.

Not everyone is always home every day. Especially those with families. That's the reason for OP's post. At least I think.

Yep. Some of us also have work schedules that interfere with daily logins. When you’re getting home at 5:30pm after being at work for 8 hours, you likely have enough time to squeeze in a few mins of ESO without neglecting your partner. When you’re getting home at 8pm after being at work for 12 hours? Not so much.

...or prioritize being with your family/partner over 100k fake currency in a video game.

Or better yet: get your partner to play ESO with you.
