issue with login rewards needs to be fixed: end of the month rewards are too hard to obtain

it simply isn't reasonable to expect people to log in a full four weeks within a month in order to get the big rewards.

I propose a new system: there should only be 22 login rewards total in a 30 day month, 23 in in a 31 day month, and 21 in february. the 7th reward, 14th reward, and the last 4 rewards of each month should be a big reward.

proposed examples of a "big reward" for this system include: crown crates, experience scrolls, 30k gold, 30k alliance points, 15k tel var stones, 1k crowns, 50% off an ESO+ subscription (applied to one payment of any size), or 1 piece of DLC. (please note: the value of gold, alliance point, and tel var stone rewards has been proposed under the assumption that, as this post suggests, big log rewards will be plentiful in quantity throughout the month, and easy to obtain.)

this new system would considerably reward regular players; as opposed to the current system, which discourages players from continuing to log in, because the big reward near the end of the month is, for all practical purposes, unattainable.

some rewards take 4-6 hr only, say during the weekend you can get up to 5-6 easy if you log in once in a while

Not everyone is always home every day. Especially those with families. That's the reason for OP's post. At least I think.

Yep. Some of us also have work schedules that interfere with daily logins. When you’re getting home at 5:30pm after being at work for 8 hours, you likely have enough time to squeeze in a few mins of ESO without neglecting your partner. When you’re getting home at 8pm after being at work for 12 hours? Not so much.

Given all the rewards for the month and only 2 are worth login for and they are in the first and third weeks, so not really hard to get for most!

Then try to log in before you go to work. I'm European, so for me the daily change happens at 2:00 AM right now, but I also worked in 4 shifts, so sometimes had to log in in the morning to grab my rewards (not in ESO, other MMOs).

This is the first month we have a 28-pieces reward table, so it's an experiment. Besides I don't think it's hard to log in for 5 minutes every day unless you aren't at home for some reason...

An alternative should be if you logged into the forums it'll count as a reward for that day and auto claim it while in game so you can do it from phone too and send it to your mail so its ready when you login

The whole idea of a daily login reward is to reward those who login daily.
Think its more to get causal players to log in every day.
My best reward this month was then my level 4 alt with an infinite slow horse got 1500 AP and unlocked rapid maneuver.
Crown food and potions also go to leveling alts, same with the various xp buffs.

The problem I had was it took forever to download these massive 50gb updates and if your internet is not great like mine you end up waiting 4 days to dowload the damn update lol.

For many reasons, my PC always has to be on and with TeamViewer, no matter where i go i can use it.

Last weekend was out of town i used to claim the daily reward, it took me 2 minutes a day.

That is when I would send in a ticket. Say Day One of update, "letting you know I would log in but I am downloading update." Then "It's Day Two, still updating, would have logged in" keep doing it until the update is complete and then log in normally.

Not saying it will work but it does seem from time to time Zenimax does help out when they can, so just show them that you tried. After all submitting a ticket would show you have logged in. Thing is can we submit a ticket when not in the game? Can we not contact Zenimax support through the website on our accounts? I mean the ESO asccounts.

That's not actively playing the game. There's probably a few people on the forum who don't even have ESO installed.

True but you can just login claim and logout, no activity in that either

Maybe I'm biased but I find it a little disturbing how many people act like it's the strangest thing in the world if a video game isn't your sole priority and some people aren't willing or able to plan the rest of their lives around it. I appreciate everyone's situation is different and not everyone has a job or family or other hobbies, but surely you can at least understand that for some people ESO is just entertainment - a fun way to spend some free time - and not something to schedule all your other plans around?

Imagine if a movie was only shown at 2pm on weekdays, for a couple of weeks. Sure people who want to see it could take the time off work, but is that a reasonable expectation? Or should the theatre recognise that seeing a movie is not the most important thing in their customers lives and attempt to schedule it so it's convenient for the maximum number of people? Why is a game any different?

(And yes we can, and do, just skip getting the login rewards. But IMO a reward system which is acceptable to players only because they can ignore it is not good game design.)

It's not hard if it's all you've got to do at the time. When I've got 20 minutes between waking up and needed to be out the door, and won't be home again until the next day (or later) it gets harder. Then I've got to switch the computer on, wait for it to start, open ESO and wait for it to load, put my password in, wait for it to load again and hit enter to log into a character, wait for it to load again, collect the reward and then lot out and shut the computer down, all in between doing everything else I need to get ready. It's possible but it's very annoying having to stop what I'm doing and go back to the computer for the next step, and having done it once I'd say it's definitely not worth the hassle unless you really want the final reward and can't afford to lose yet another day. (For example I wouldn't bother this month because while 100k gold is a lot it's only gold and I can get gold in other, less annoying, ways.)

But I think you're right that it's an experiment. It's a new system for them and they're playing around with numbers of days and rewards to see what works for the most number of people. Personally I wish they'd do it the way other games do where the rewards aren't removed at the end of the month so if you miss days you fall behind but don't lose out completely. but I guess they think this works better, at least for now.

I feel you, but it really does only take like 2 minutes max to claim, at least on console. Start up is so quick on console and you can skip most of the initial screens that I'm in and out in no time.

It's funny actually as I really haven't played much this month, save for writs occasionally and this weekend for the free crates, but they do encourage me to log in when I otherwise have no interest to.

What does become tedious is doing this on several accounts, some months I can stomach the repetitive act, others I only make it a few days. Really thought I was going to get tons of gold from secondary accounts, that lasted a week and I'm barely holding on for the last reward on my main lol. This 28 dayer is a mother!

I've done it before though in gtao where you login every day and have to actually do something to earn it, this is much more enjoyable. No real complaints from me.
