I’m aware that is the effect, but that is not stated anywhere in the tooltip and AFAIK has not been confirmed by the devs. Anyway, this change would give you the 30% speed increase you want, at the cost of giving up jewelry traits.

Riding speed is fine, if you really think you need more get the PVP Assault skill line. The first skill is a speed increase ability.
Once you get it you can use it in PVE zones.

It would have been nice if it did that, but it doesn't.
This was confirmed by the Devs in the patch notes when Summerset launched:

It's an RPG game with elements of immersion and traveling is one of them.
And honestly I don't think this game has travel issues; it's one of the better games where traveling somewhere isn't an issue or that time consuming.

Instead of thinking about evil developers who want to make you suffer always think about gameplay and the reasons why something might be important for it.

Only one of the zones is infamous for being a "horse riding simulator" - Cyrodil. The distance between keeps serves as a throttle to prevent defenders from respawning immediately and joining back in the fight. Because if palyers were able to reliably (camps only give one res per player and need to be replaced) keep on respawning and returning to the fight in a matter of 30 seconds no keep would be captured. Increasing horse speed reduces the effectivness of this throttle and since taking keeps is already a tough task I do not want to see it being made even harded.

You can also solve that issue by adding a respawn timer like in battlegrounds but I would rather not see that happen since even 20 seconds of looking at the death recap are pretty darn boring.

60 + Rapids is plenty fast

What they need to do for Cyrodiil is everyone gets the 60 buff so that newer characters arent left in the dust when trying to play out there. This will make Cyrodiil less of a slog for newer characters and players.

I would actually give them a tad slower than 60, say 50 or 55 so there is still an incentive to level the skill.

it's currently at fastest speed it can get without getting any rendering problems. with CP passive, rapid, u can get pretty decent speeds. Faster than that would be problematic, people would get loads of problems with a game, and complains would start. + dont forget animation would look stupid, this is not racing cars with spinning wheels , but 4 legged animal, eso has some RP side, dont forget.

I don't have "fast" mounts. Probably never will. It's not of any real value to me - I'm one who likes to "stop and smell the flowers" (or at least pick them), and right now, I can't explore and harvest mounted because after the second mount/dismount/remount cycle, I get dropped to login screen, and then it can take me an hour or more to get logged back in (so whatever "fix" seems to have happened for some of you - it isn't working for me...)

So, no opinion really....

I think there needs to be more option to expand riding speed but the core speed doesn't need to be changed. Yes, speed is crucial in PVP but it looks absolutely absurd when your mount is galloping at ridiculous speeds. And outside of PVP, there are rarely situations where you need to get somewhere as fast as you would in PVP, so I don't really see any need.

Perhaps PVP's core speed could be increased while it remains the same everywhere else?

I think mounts are plenty fast enough with the skill choices that exist.

What ZOS should work on is twofold.

1 - Fix the loading screen issue that is partly related to covering too much distance too fast (at least that's what I assume causes it). This is mostly experienced in Cyrodiil where its way out of control there, but I've experienced it in other zones such as Wrothgar, Craglorn, and others.

2 - fix the terrain clipping issue where mounts get caught up on minor elevations, plants, pebbles/small rocks, and other incredibly minor items. I would even say I would even accept having a no clip setting for most of these items and just pass through these items so that mounts work properly again.

If they resolved these two issues mounts would be plenty fast enough with the speed skills currently available.

No. Definitely not. Maxed out horse speed is plenty fast as it is. Anytime someone casts one of their speed buffs, I have to sit and wait for it to clear before continuing. If I try moving with such speed skills active, I go so fast that I have a hard time controlling where I am going and everything whips by so fast that I start getting headaches.

There is nothing in this game, for me at any rate, that requires going super fast to get to. Too bad I wasn't aware of this before maxing out my horse speeds. I think it was around 25~30 in horse speed that the speed buffs from other players started giving me issues. In hindsight I should have stopped at that point instead of taking it on up to 60.

These days I find myself on foot more than mounted anyway. Its just easier to run into battle, harvest nodes, etc without having to dismount and remount in between.

I really miss my old Ward of Cyrodill mount speed bonus,
but on the other hand I know how often I rode into the logoff screen
when going really fast for a long distance.

Therefore first repair the servers !

And then I really would like having a 30% Mount Speed Bonus when
riding on a trail and a 60% Bonus when riding on a road.

Isn't that the reason someone builds these things in the first place ?

The mounted speed also doesnt feel equally fast on all my chars, even though the mount speed and stamina is maxed out on all of them.

For some reason some chars just feel sluggish, while other seem to fly across the map.

Possibly character size difference? My Bosmer feels much faster than my Altmer, even though they technically move at the same speed.

There is a balance of the mounts speed and the flag carrier in place. If it takes 1 min to catch up now then with the increase it will be, say, 45 secs. This will throw that bit of the game off. And if you get rid of Rapid Manoeuvre and just give mounts a permanent increase then we won't even be able to move at extra speed while NOT mounted and this will slow us down on foot - not a desirable change.

The people who are using skill-change add-ons are likely the ones who caused the problem and change with the ward of cyrodiil set to begin with. ZOS just haven't come up with a better way of dealing with this problem yet. So they will abuse the system and when ZOS comes down with the nerf hammer they will quit the game, AFTER having ruined the experience for others.

And my 60/60 mount already walks too fast, I can't take a stroll through one of the beautifully designed environments without feeling like I'm in a hurry trying to get somewhere. Totally kills the immersion. Lower the speed!

That might be it, I think my Dunmer NB is a lot shorter than my Altmer sorc.
