I see a lot of you just want pve with no risk. That’s not what the IC DLC was about and completely contradicts the purpose of it.

IC needs a facelift, plain and simple. While new players as well as the few vets that haven't farmed the place to death still exist, there just isn't enough incentive to actually bother going back for those of us that have farmed it.

Alchemy Satchels and Hakeijos are probably the only things worth getting with Tel Var anymore since Polymorphs and Storage Chests are 1 time purchases but since this is year 3 of IC, chances are pretty high that most veteran players have already gotten those from last year's event, if not sooner. The Tel Var sets are meh at best and Key Fragments aren't worth much since Willpower/Agility/Endurace are given out for free from Random Duty Finder, Xyvkin Motifs are valueless and the Dungeon sets that were never in high demand to begin with have fallen even further down the line now that Olorime devalued SPC, even if SPC still has a place in 4 man and PvP.

The District flags also destroyed what made IC so great in the 1st place, combat between enemy players without Horse Simulators getting in the way. It was more engaging than Cyrodiil but that was completely killed off with Flags that add nothing to IC other than Tel Var bonuses, which again are more or less used only for Alchemy satchels and Hakeijos, effectively making districts useless for much of anything.

You want IC to be relevant, buff up the Tel Var sets to be worth something (Blackrose, Reaction, and Shieldbreaker notwithstanding). Have Powerful Assault and Meritorious Service affect 6 people instead of 4 (also change MS to provide something actually useful since the miniscule armor buff it gives gets eaten thru with how high Penetration values are). Rework the vaults to contain purple jewelry of TelVar sets, or even better, revamp the old 3 piece Dungeon sets, like Relics of the Ancients, and put them in the vaults. Have Bosses (both City and Sewers) drop sets native to IC as well as Xyvkin motif pages. REMOVE THE FLAGS!!!!

Im on a beeak from pvp and everthing really, until i see some beeter improvements than what they been giving. I canceled my plus membership and everything.
All I've been doing is logging on and collecting daily reward and doing a quest here and there. Almost finished cadwell gold.
Im hoping the next update will be better, and seem interesting enough to bring me back, with proper balancing and maybe the ability to change factions. Otherwise I've never really liked imperial city and this event is not going to bring me back, for some of the reasons stated.
I will however participate during witches festival since i have some toons i still need to level and about 10 150%xp scrolls to use to level quicker.

It was frustrating going to Molag as my healer. Constant healing to keep my fellow group members alive for hours while I never once got a drop from him. The few times I tried to mix in some DPS, it wasn't enough to register for a drop. Hearing all of them excited about getting this drop and that drop made me sick. Never healing in that area again.

From one PvP healer to another, there are a few things you can do to help alleviate that.

    1) Use Purifying Light...liberally. depending on your mag pool, you can see pretty large dmg tics (23.7K for mine) that count toward your dmg done.
    2) Slot Meteor (or whichever morph you use) as one of your ultis. When MB pops up, hit him with the aforementioned Purifying Light and toss out a Meteor while weaving heals. It's also a nice chunk of dmg done.
    3) Slot Radiant Oppression. That execute is HUGE, and your dmg potential soars with this. Make sure to wait until he's at about 20% before using this though, or that overly long channeling will just cut into your healing weaves.

Healers in PvP should never be pure heals. It's a way to guarantee you'll never get good (or any) drops and your kill count will be abysmally low. If your team is so dependent on your heals that you can't weave in some dps without them dying, then they need to work on their builds a bit and stop using you to supplement their terrible set-up. You deserve to have fun too and you're not just a traveling band-aid for lazy dps.

I can't speak for others, but I really dislike the massive population style of PvP. Zergs are simply antithetical to good PvP play, regardless of environment. These events only encourage more zerg play. I'll pass.

I remember the last IC event had the servers bursting. But for some reason very few seem to be participating I don't PVP so without a big group I'm easy pickings for all the hardcore PVP players. Since the event starting I've only been in 3 groups. Why is the event not as popular as it was last time?

IC was cool when it was small battles. It's essentially zergs running around now so not my thing.

Don't need the Tel Var that bad.

For me, it was simply a matter of A.) not really needing anything from IC (as a master crafter, I get my containers from writ vouchers, not Tel Var), and B.) not having a large enough group to survive the gank squads. I'm a regular PvPer, too, so I don't mind fighting other players, but it's not exactly great fun to run into the same 20-person EP group camping Molag Bal if your AD group only has 6 people. Or the full DC raid camping the flags.

Basically, with such a small area, you either needed a mega group of your own, or it just wasn't much fun. Hard to avoid the zergs in IC.

That being said, it’s fun to wipe 30+ with 4-6 people.

And right there is where PVP ends.

Those 30+ PVEers log out for the night and the server is empty again.
And your 4-6 people have to find pvp elsewhere.

Its just a bad design around tel-var thievery. No event will help IC.
    A redesign is required.

Your PvP DLC is a ghost town outside of the event regardless of how it was originally intended. A redesign could bring new life into the districts if ZoS was willing to make some changes to accommodate both parties.

Kagrenacs, fort brass, balorg. When the ballbag appears, pop a potion for the crit, lay a dot, drop an ulti and start spamming an execute. Sometimes that will work, because balorg will boost your spell damage by double how much ultimate you had.

I am talking about present not past. I have been farming TV in districts and Molag bal since event started. There are many reasons for lower turnout intact one is losing your half TV's on death.

IC needs new Gear and unique items to attract more players.

The loss rate is ridiculous and prohibitive to most pve players and even many half decent pvp'ers.

Unless you're a very competent pvp player or run in a pvp experienced group you will usually end up with LESS Tel Var during these events than at any other time of year!

IC is just poorly designed because it favors gankers(people who have less than 1k stones on them at any given time) who have the least to lose while anyone farming tel var is at the disadvantage because they have way more to lose in stones and time. i can kill a ganker 10 tens on a flag but he can keep jumping down with no penalty for dying and no stones to lose. so the ganker finally gets lucky and kills the farmer whille he is fighting a boss or another player so he banks his stones and logs off. this is why IC is a ghost town no happy medium between these two parties.

What about a loot system? When you have to loot the telvars from a killed enemy it would make ganking more difficult. Buddies could protect the killed player, revive him and he wouldn't lose stones...

To the people who are complaining about getting killed solo in IC: ESO is still an MMORPG.

Imperial City was by far my favorite DLC, but I've just not been excited about the event this year. PVP in IC seems incredibly lop-sided, with one faction having a vastly higher population than the other two, and pretty much controlling the top side of the map.

That, and I can only spend so many years farming key fragments/tel var with nothing to spend them on.

It is not a PVP DLC, it is a PVE DLC with PVP mechanics turned on. The ultimate goal of the area is farming and not PVP-ing.

I was looking forward to participating this year. But I jacked my back up and was basically on bed rest for 2 weeks. For the last few days, I can play for a bit from bed with a wireless keyboard, but only doing easy things like writs and basic questing etc. Due to my late arrival to PvP, I haven't spent much time in IC and was looking forward to a crowded experience resembling what I imagine it could have been like for IC's launch. As a broke PvPer I invested my telvar pre event to a set of imperial physique. Went down yesterday with a fellow imp physique stamblade for a mag/stamblade combo and we racked about 250k in 2 1/2 hours. These pvp zone events are like Christmas for pvpers with the stale cyrodill gameplay for 4+ years and the BG que being broken for high MMR...ZOS? Still haven’t heard anything on that...

I'm thinking about doing the same thing tonight as I have about 40K saved up right now. I'll just make sure to not head out with 10K stones solo.

I think some kind of neutral flag status would be necessary for noobs such as me ;) .
For a fixed time, can buy this time for either gold or telvars, the flag grants immunity to all pvp activities there. Cannot harm anyone, no one can harm me. Can or cannot participate in killing monsters with other pvpers, and can e.g. receive only half the amount of telvars that usually drop for pvpers. Seems a fair way to increase population inside ;).

Wow. This is probably one of the most reasonable suggestions for PVE without PVP in IC I've ever seen. Honestly - well done!

Also sounds like a great way to have a PvP spy that just tells their own faction exactly what's going on with no danger of being killed, setting up the opportunity for some kind of huge ambush.

I go to IC Sewers because of the risk/reward. I mean if I want to just boringly grind mats or gold, I'll just go grind the Senche cats.

I don't mind losing them as I find the risk/reward is fun. But I think you're right. If it were a 20% loss, there'd be a lot more turnout. And I'd be more likely to buy that Imperial Physique armor I've been mulling over.
