I dunno, but I'm expecting trials players to sell it for higher than that after the effort they are putting in to grind it.

Who knows some groups have those trials on speed runs i got enough of those centurion items to make 8 regular ones and 2 of the blue elite ones in like a couple weeks time using gold that is I'm not a raider.

Regardless of how easy it is for some groups to run it, each person is still only able to "bind" the fragments into a motif page once per week.

1.2m gold. Less than it would have cost me via guild traders, for at least 6 months if not more due to the insanity required to farm.

Alas for us poor saps who don’t have millions of gold lying around.

Right? I've got 6 million atm, but don't really care to encourage this crown store greed.

But at that price, it means I'm only cost-effective if I buy pages at under 85k, which seems low considering the grind trial players have to do in order to get the pages.

Who cares about the costs! Finally ZO$ decided to honor the Polish Winged Hussars, in a 335-th anniversary of Battle of Vienna (September 12, 1683) :D. Such a nice anniversary style motif :D .

200:1 is rare af i'd say. Even 250 is quite rare. TCE (PC-EU) set it to 325:1 and ypu can find from others for like 275-300:1 if you are lucky.

Edit: I'll just drop this here. Almost 10k views in this topic yet nobody from ZoS dares to say anything.

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/424289/the-way-you-obtain-welkynar-motif-chapters-is-a-terrible-joke/p1

200:1 was what I was finding on PC/NA, its probably higher than that elsewhere.

Still, even at 325:1, we've got:

1,950,000 gold to gift the crown store motif

Meaning individual pages should sell for 140k each. Otherwise its more cost effective to just buy a gifted motif.

Okay, that's more expensive than 85k a page, but frankly, Buoyant Armiger used to go for more than that when it first released.

Ultimately, I suspect ZOS majorly undercut people who would farm the trials to sell these motif pages, at least in the short term. And not only is it hard content, its also a frustrating grind designed to limit availability. I would have expected trial farmers to charge more, but now they have to sell under ZOS' price.

10/10 agreed. ZoS is goind freaking crazy lately. They can't do it if people don't buy from them tho, but i highly doubt that could ever happen.

85k is the price per page if you can buy the crown store motif for 200 gold per crown, as someone did in this thread.

It will obviously go up if your platform's gold to crown ratio is higher.

Someone mentioned PC/EU is 325:1, so they'll pay about 1.95 million or 140k per page.

    Heh.

People keep saying if we buy more, performance will improve.

    Hasn't happened yet.

I guess we PVPers need to buy more, right?

I said this in another thread but this is the most disgusting money-grab tactic they have drummed up yet. We can expect this for future motifs as well if it sells. And you know it will sell. So many people will either buy it or purchase crowns from someone else to get it. This is just the beginning.

That 4,500 crowrn stag mount a couple Christmases ago was about as bad :)

Problem is, even the current high price screws over anyone farming for it.

Not only do you have to endure a punishing grind - the worst grind for a motif yet - but you can't sell it for gold commensurate with the effort you put in because it has to be cheaper than the crown store price. Otherwise people will buy from crown store gifters.

ZOS put in a punishing grind and a price ceiling. They really want people buying this from the Crown Store.

Actually it caps the price, under the current crown to gold ratio.

If your ratio is 200:1, like Ive seen on PC/NA, I'd only buy pages at 85kish each.

does anyone know if the fragments will drop for example 4 to each person in the group in vCR+1 or 4 fragments to whole group in total?

If those numbers they released are per person, we might be able to get a couple pages if you only want some from guild stores soon...

Appreciate if someone played today can fill in!

Watch them break it up into individual pages in the purple quality rewards category...

Well the reward dilution in the current crates caused by the motif meant I only bought about a third of the crates I have normally bought. If they continue or raise it another tier then I guess I'll end up dropping crates altogether, they are rather unappealing as they now are.

I realize that some are fine with this, but for me it is just one more straw.
Since before "Summerset", we have had the JC grind, Summerset CE Editions not shipped, Master Writs dropping with motifs that aren't even in game yet, motifs become available only through HM grinds, overly focused on "Crown Store" cash grab, etc.

I really LOVE ESO and have played almost every day since early launch. I have subbed every month since day one.
But I find myself playing less and less, and I definitely don't spend near as much RL money anymore.

As far as the "ZoS needs the money", Zenimax Media is doing more than fine.

The whole "you can grind forever..or pay us money" thing being pushed harder is a scary trend. I noticed the same trend in Rift before it lost most of its remaining playerbase.

But what's scariest about this grind-or-pay scenario is that most people HAVE to pay. As someone who isn't in a trials guild and has to pug when I feel like doing one, I can tell you that the vast majority (>90%) of players can't do NCR +3. Period. First of all, you need to be in voip to communicate with every person, so that already eliminates most pugs out of the running. +1 or +2 is doable for the majority of pugs I'd say, but +3 is beyond reach for all but the best pugs and trials guilds.

So basically, it might as well have been cash shop only. I would have actually been okay with it. Having it in NCR +3 or above is like a giant middle finger to most of the community.

They shouldn't even be offering it on the Crown Store.

It should be 12000 Crowns, so that the motif serves as an incentive to run content rather than an incentive to buy Crowns.

I like how it is explicitly priced to where you have to buy more crowns than you need to buy it.

Can't cost 5k or 5.5k crowns, nope. Gotta be 6k

$60 bucks eh? Wow more than the game. I see what Zenimax is doing. Instead of selling more copies or DLC of a game with more work/time/money involved they just do this. So basically this is like a new copy being sold now.

I wonder if Bethesda will be scuttled now. After all why spend millions making a game when it only costs thousands if not hundreds now.

    *edit*

Tin foil hat on now. Maybe that is why Fallout76 is an online only game with no NPCs. Less coding and artwork needed so less people needed to employee. Is this the new way? Time will tell.

Most likely I am wrong but when ever I see something like this, this is what I think of, a company trying to do as little as possible and get as much as possible instead of ACTUALLY making a good game that works properly and functionally. Can't get new customers just soak p more money from the customers you have and know you can get away with.

I saw this before. It can last about 10 years or so. Eventually this method will fail. Questions will be asked where are the tens of millions instead of the few millions. I guess winning a half billion dollar lawsuit they don't really care right now.

Totally agree, that's honestly the icing on the cake here. It costs just enough that the $40 crown pack (5,500 crowns) doesn't cover it. Nope, you gotta pay $100 for the 14,000 crown pack if you don't have crowns from a sub and you want to buy the motif.
