if??? ;-)
What part of giving free money gives them any indication of that, though?
"Oh, a bunch of people claimed free gold! Looks like we should sell crates for gold!"
See how that makes...no sense? The two statements are unrelated. There's nothing there testing a currency exchange, or a demand for gold-purchased crates. They'll learn that...some people have more gold now. And maybe how strong of an incentive to log in 100k gold is. That's it.
If there was a reward that let people CHOOSE between gold and crates, or a reward that gave you a limited opportunity to buy crates with gold, that would be kinda relevant. But free gold has nothing to do with selling crates for gold. At all.
mmm...
well, sorry, my intention wasn't to be contentious.
if log-ins are greater by 3x for 100k than they are for 5 free crates that does hint at, at least for me, that, 100k is 3x more valuable than 5 crates...setting the price of a single crate to be roughly 6666 gold. THESE ARE JUST EXAMPLE NUMBERS.
I think the only thing zos will be learning is how many dead accounts they can get to log in for twenty eight days to get the reward.
Hire someone to log into the game for you every day. 100.000 gold should suffice.MLGProPlayer wrote: »I already missed out on the reward. No way I can log on for 28 days.

important free stuff contenders:
- Many, many scrolls of reduce all research timers
- Not crates, just the rewards. (potions, poisons, and foods are NOT rewards - they are stocking fillers)
- Sets of Epic-level dungeon armour.
- Gold crafting materials
Your third one there.... "Sets of Epic-level dungeon armour" - that's P2W....
Homeschooling dad here - same situation usually, lol. It's like recess for my kiddos to watch me play for a few minutes, running around smashing baddies or, more often, switching my outfit.Sylvermynx wrote: »Of course, I'm retired.... so I get to do what I want to do when I want to do it....
I don't think its a good move for economy.
The only gain I've had is talking people into writs because of it. Alot of my mates don't bother but got psyched for the reward. I pointed out you do writs for one month you get that from hand ins alone PLUS gold tempers and rare mats.
If you have or farm enough mats. The last writ event decimated my mats and style stone supplies. With 15 characters, I would have to constantly farm mats and buy style stones. I don't want to do that.
An extra 100k per account won't effect the economy one bit. Not with the amount of people who have 10s and 100s of millions of gold banked.
Who's been feeding that gift horse sugar lumps? Look at that glazed, blissed-out stoner look in his eyes and the British teeth. It's at least a 100G's of dental work and carrots there.Darkhorse1975 wrote: »

Then 100k is P2W too, because you can buy gear with it...Sylvermynx wrote: »Androconium wrote: »Sylvermynx wrote: »Androconium wrote: »(Scoffs quietly at the 150 or so legendary quality items of dubious importance and value in the corner)100k is still an item to legendary quality. We're talking free stuff here. There's no pay in free.
It's still pay to win - or maybe grab to win, or log in to win. There's no way epic dungeon sets should be handed out for crowns - or for free. And when I say that, I'm also saying that I'm one who will never have those epic sets. Now, if those sets are just cosmetic, that would be fine.
Like the actual definition of P2W?I actually don't care about people having stuff I can't get myself. But I do care about the amount of angst on the forums if something like that happens - because all that angst gets in the way of finding out things I want or need to know.
That's not a selfie, I'm assuming? (Bad @name joke...sorry)Darkhorse1975 wrote: »
