What will a free 100k teach us and Zos? (daily rewards)

Everybody knows it is to check whether they can have people log in daily to get the rewards. Then they can report next year 5 million unique accounts logged in daily (and logged out after claiming the reward lol).
Why do you think the grant price is at the end?
Why do you think they get back to monthly eso+ rewards, which were first abandoned with the introduction of the clown store?

First they though... no more free monthly rewards, buy it at store.
Now they think... logging in works with free daily rewards. Let's see how many will resub with free monthly reskins?

See how that makes...no sense? The two statements are unrelated. There's nothing there testing a currency exchange, or a demand for gold-purchased crates. They'll learn that...some people have more gold now. And maybe how strong of an incentive to log in 100k gold is. That's it.

If there was a reward that let people CHOOSE between gold and crates, or a reward that gave you a limited opportunity to buy crates with gold, that would be kinda relevant. But free gold has nothing to do with selling crates for gold. At all.

well, sorry, my intention wasn't to be contentious.

if log-ins are greater by 3x for 100k than they are for 5 free crates that does hint at, at least for me, that, 100k is 3x more valuable than 5 crates...setting the price of a single crate to be roughly 6666 gold. THESE ARE JUST EXAMPLE NUMBERS.

Unfortunately, that math doesn't really make any sense. There is no reason to think the value of crates and gold should be proportional to the number of people who think it is worthwhile to log on every day to get the rewards. I doubt I would ever spend gold or crowns on cosmetics, but I would log on for crates. Also, loot boxes like to target whales, not players looking for free stuff.

I make money pretty easily, average around 1mill a week without trying overly hard... and I think a free 100k is a super nice bonus. It's really weird to me seeing so many people acting like it's a drop in the bucket. For me that's a few hours I don't have to do writs and for many players I personally know it's more gold than they've ever had at once.

A+ reward IMO

I already missed out on the reward. No way I can log on for 28 days.

I guess they wanted to entice true "daily" logins for the entire month. Not sure how many people can actually manage that. I guess this is a good way to test that.

Uh.... I log in every day because I play every day. I have 9 girls doing writs, and then I go do whatever on whichever girl needs to quest.

Serious. I've logged in every day since I started playing middle of June this year. I'm not likely to change that for any reason. Of course, I'm retired.... so I get to do what I want to do when I want to do it....

[As a metric, comparison, whatever: I played WoW from early 2006 until 2013. I never missed a day logging in and doing dailies etc. on more toons than you may want to contemplate. I did the same in RIFT from 2013 to 2016, ditto. As I said above, I'm retired, so it's not a problem for me to log in every day.]

I would like to see on what players will spend their gold. I suppose, it's going to be bank\inventory upgrades.
But still, I noticed that with certain goods like tempers or crafting materials there is stable consumption rate during the season (which results in stable item sold quantity over the month).

I would probably compare the week before gold injection and the week after to see, which item prices and sold amounts would be inflated to use this information next time if similar event happens

An extra 100k per account won't effect the economy one bit. Not with the amount of people who have 10s and 100s of millions of gold banked.

Well, having this much money you obviously don't need to bother farming mats. Just buy them. The resulting gold\tempers\master writs rewards overcome your spendings manifold.

We're talking free stuff here. There's no pay in free.

It's still pay to win - or maybe grab to win, or log in to win. There's no way epic dungeon sets should be handed out for crowns - or for free. And when I say that, I'm also saying that I'm one who will never have those epic sets. Now, if those sets are just cosmetic, that would be fine.

Then 100k is P2W too, because you can buy gear with it...

I actually don't care about people having stuff I can't get myself. But I do care about the amount of angst on the forums if something like that happens - because all that angst gets in the way of finding out things I want or need to know.

Like the actual definition of P2W?
