Its a PVP zone, with no way to reliably signal that you have peaceable intentions nor any incentive for PVPers to honor that.

I suggest you prepare for PVP, either by researching a PVP build, getting a group to help you, or getting stealth gear/potions to avoid combat.

I too used to hate Cyrodiil, though in my case it was getting those Cyrodiil fish for Master Angler. But I kept coming back, for skyshards, for delve bosses, and eventually I stayed and discovered that I really enjoy PVP in Cyrodiil.

yes there is, flash block a few times. if you do that and they kill you there just a jerk

Imperial City is basically designed to a be a "ganker's" wet dream. In fact: I would argue this game's entire PvP system is specifically designed to favor ganking and zerging. And then they wonder why the place turns into a "ghost town" unless there is an event going on....

You would think they could figure that one out on their own.

Here is a tip for the system developers in charge of PvP on this game - getting ganked isn't fun. The only people who are going to enjoy that kind of PvP are sadistic players who simply enjoy grieving others - because it's certainly not interesting game play... on either side of the equation.

So if you intend on doing PvP on this game I would stick to battlegrounds. At least there the odds are kept more fair. This game's silly PvP works best on a smaller scale with fewer people involved - because then you actually have a chance of defending yourself and actually engaging in something that resembles combat that isn't just a lame and annoying gank-fest. But I know this advice doesn't particularly help you since you need to do Imperial City for your quest.

That place is a living hell. So unless you have a group to run with I would simply avoid it. No video game award is worth the b.s. you are going to have to endure trying to solo in that sewer (and when I say sewer I don't just mean it literally).

Not only that but some players even act as double agents. You'll assemble a group and get a fair amount of tel var or go down into the sewers to engage in molag bal. Suddenly 1 players goes offline and 5 minutes later you have an entire zerg trying to steal all your hard earned ***.

This is what probably pisses me off the most in PVP. Not to mention the *** that happens in open world Cyrodiil pvp. People grabbing scrolls and delivering them to their main factions. Now that's something that should honestly be a bannable offense.

Ok but seriously can there be a punishment for people ganking or camping? Like jeez I just want to get to the middle of the sewer, and I doubt anyone will group with me.

Cant people be punished for pvping in a pvp dlc zone?

    No.

Go to a dead campaign or run in a zerg and just don't cry if people pvp you.

A huge group of AD people killed me before I could do anything .-. Was going to do the surrender emote but apparently it’s kill anyone before half of them can be friendly

Considering your frustration level after a few hours of this.... you might do better to just run writs on 8 toons to save up the gold for the skin. A week and a half ago I had < 100k in the bank since late June. Today, with 9 girls instead of 1 doing basic writs, I have 425k (appx.... I'm not in game, might be off a few k either way).

Of course I don't spend it on anything just right now - each girl manages her own repairs etc - I'm just saving it up. Too bad the bank doesn't pay interest....

I'm also not saving it for anything in particular. However, when something shows up somewhere that I want, likely I'll be able to pay for it without breaking a sweat.

Oh, and the previous advice was spot on: don't try to do this during an event. That right there is what is causing you to gnash teeth. Wait until the event is over. Save a life - probably your own....

Honestly I’m so done with Cyrodiil. I just want to do the damn quest but no, stupid PvP people have to ruin it. No wonder why people are afraid of coming here or hate it. If I ever finish the damn quest I’m never coming back.

Why do PvP players have to be stupid? The one or two times someone from another faction “seemed” to be doing a quest, I left my weapons sheathed and they attacked me.

I kill on sight. If two people seem to be 1v1ing I Kill and apologize.

It’s a PvP area. Fight or go home.

As a PvP player, I've also had this happen multiple times. Eg, was in a delve once and intentionally ignored the opposite faction player who I assumed was questing, while I waited for a boss to spawn. They then jumped me as I went to leave.

I could try to find a group, but I just want to beat the quest and never come back. I seriously want the Soul-Shriven skin but I can’t bc I’m too early in the quest.

I can get anywhere on the map with stealth.

I wish I could get the Undaunted passives and monster helmets without doing what I dont like...vet dungeons.

It’s a pvp zone with elements of Pve. You have to accept that. Like others have said the easiest way to get the skin is to farm gold. I will say if you get with a group you will be slightly safer than solo. Just be careful and be aware of your Environment have mage light at the ready. Death in Ic and Cryo is an inconvenience and that’s it.

Sorry. Unsure if you are being sarcastic or trolling or what.

you asking for PvP players not to PvP in a PvP zone right.....and you don't want people to gank in the one area of the game intended for ganking that rewards ganking.

Seriously the levels of entitlement in this game astound me.

If ur a PvEer just save up and buy it if you are that mad keen for it, you can make that kinda money in a few weeks.

There's nothing cool about facerolling someone who is clearly and obviously questing in Cyrodiil especially during events.

There are actually a good number of players that respect this but unfortunately there are always going to be ones who get a kick out of beating defenceless people.

Most good pvp'ers don't do this even in pvp proper.

If you don't like PvP, don't go there. It is as simple as that.

    I don't like trials... hence i don't do them. I also don't like writs, hence i don't do them.

Its not quite that black and white.

Players often need an Alliance skill, gear or mats for their build and as such have to go to Cyrodiil to obtain.

Same as PVP players sometimes have to do PVE content to get their gear. But then you don't get ganked or facerolled or have your valuable mats taken from you in PVE :)
