Honestly I’m so done with Cyrodiil. I just want to do the damn quest but no, PvP people have to ruin it. No wonder why people are afraid of coming here or hate it. If I ever finish the damn quest I’m never coming back.

✭✭✭✭✭Its a PVP zone, with no way to reliably signal that you have peaceable intentions nor any incentive for PVPers to honor that.
I suggest you prepare for PVP, either by researching a PVP build, getting a group to help you, or getting stealth gear/potions to avoid combat.
I too used to hate Cyrodiil, though in my case it was getting those Cyrodiil fish for Master Angler. But I kept coming back, for skyshards, for delve bosses, and eventually I stayed and discovered that I really enjoy PVP in Cyrodiil.49 -

1) Your divines gear makes you a sitting duck. Invest in some Impen trait armor.
2) You need food to buff your stats.
3) Detect Pots are your friend
4) If you can't buy or craft detect pots or Invisible pots, use Magelight to help.
5) Find a friend with some PVP experience who wants to tag along as a bodyguard.
6) Everyone dies in PVP. It is not the end of the world.

You don't need to do any quests to get this skin. Just defeat Molag Bal in the sewers. Keep killing him until he drops it.PS5 EU.6 -

✭✭✭✭✭The easiest way to get the skin is to buy it. Farming up 1 million gold will probably be faster and likely less stressful. Even if you do go and farm it 50 times, you still might not get it. If you do still want to farm it, the best time to do it is ANY time that isn't during this event. Yes, you get double drops but you have to deal with 10 times the population down there. Also, doing any of that farming solo will be very, very slow going. Do try to get in a group for the farming.
The short version is, if all you want is the skin, it's not bound and you never have to step foot in there to acquire it.7 -

✭✭Second the suggestion to wait til the event is over. If you want to avoid being murdered by other players, you really could not have picked a worse time to enter the Imperial City. When the event is over, you'll have much less trouble.6 -

No, they couldn't have. Imperial City was designed for PVP/PVE, during a phase of development when the devs fully expected PVP to be ESO's endgame. No, actually Imperial City rewards ganking/camping. Everytime you kill a player, you get half their Tel Var stones. Ganking is a great risk/reward tactic for killing other players to get their Tel Var. Since there's double Tel Var drops during the event, there are lots and lots of gankers. This is intended gameplay and pretty normal for Imperial City PVP.
If you want advice for dealing with gankers:Wearing Impentrable trait gear will help keep you from being crit damaged to death. When someone attacks you from stealth, try to block or roll dodge/break free as soon as possible, then self heal. If you can survive the first hits, it turns into a 1v1 duel. You might not have much luck winning a duel either, but you'll have made it through the gank.
Grouping: typing LFG in zone chat will let others of your alliance see that you want a group. You can also say something like "LFG for Molag Bal event". Keep an eye on zone chat and see if any groups form up, or join with anyone else typing LFG.4 -

✭✭✭✭✭Getting to the center of the sewer is only the first step. Even if you get there, you need to kill 3 portals with multiple waves, each with a banner boss. Then you have to kill a projection of Molag Bal (admittedly probably easier than the banner bosses). Even if you beat all of that, there is maybe a 2% drop rate on the skin.
