I'll say it again, if you want the skin, find some people to group with you AFTER the event, and then farm the hell out of 'Ole Bal. otherwise, you will get ganked, and you will die. It's a pvp zone, and people are after the Tel Var stones.

Mad cause they got killed in a PvP zone by PvPers. Interesting.......

    Sadly, not an uncommon sentiment.

I don't get it, personally. I used to be very PVE only, but when I went into Cyrodiil to get my Master Angler fish, I expected to die (and I did die) because I didn't know what I was doing.

I figure, either prepare for PVP (Impen gear, burst damage, detect pot, or stealthy gear) or be prepared to die a lot and try not to get too frustrated.

*shrug* Gankers are just pvp players. If you can't deal with pvp, don't go after whatever it is you want in a pvp zone.

You essentially have 2 options: buy the scamp or find a group and get better at pvp. Not every skin is available to everyone, and that's ok.

Also, I have friends who have killed molag hundreds of times over several years who still do not have the skin. The drop rate is ridiculous.

Its a PVP zone, with no way to reliably signal that you have peaceable intentions nor any incentive for PVPers to honor that.

I suggest you prepare for PVP, either by researching a PVP build, getting a group to help you, or getting stealth gear/potions to avoid combat.

I too used to hate Cyrodiil, though in my case it was getting those Cyrodiil fish for Master Angler. But I kept coming back, for skyshards, for delve bosses, and eventually I stayed and discovered that I really enjoy PVP in Cyrodiil.

Oh come on... That is so false. While I do PvP myself I have encountered this so many times before...

You can just hold down block and heal, or run away, people will chase you for miles for an entire hour if they have to...

You can give any signal you just want to be left alone, hell try ANYTHING. They'll still look for you.

So many times i just went there to fish, encountered a group of 5 people who kept chasing and even looking for me LONG after I was stealthed in a safe spot. Stop this "don't know your intentions are peaceful" thing.

GOD FORBID YOU EVEN TRY TO MESSAGE THEM! They'll chase you for the entire day after that and Tbag you.

I even had people camp my corpse everytime they killed me to make sure nobody comes to resurrect me, they even messaged me first that I should give up waiting. On multiple occasions. When it's a 12 man zerg like that harassing 1 player, regardless of their intentions it's not exactly a sign of welcoming community. PVP or not.

Lmao people don’t read, I said gankers

Ganking, as in bursting someone down quickly by attacking from stealth is a fully intended form of PVP gameplay and its extremely common in Imperial City, moreso during this anniversary event.

You can use detect pots or magelight to spot them, stealth pots/gear to try to get around them, or get tanky/be reactive to help counter their attacks, or group up so you are less of a target.

But gankers are everywhere during the IC anniversary event. So either prepare for them or prepare to die a lot to them.

Lmao people don’t read, I said gankers

Imperial City is specifically designed for small-scale PVP, and that includes gankers. The mix of PVE with PVP encourages that. If you don't want to get ganked, don't go to a zone where that's part of the intended way of playing, and especially don't go there without a group.

Asking for people to get banned for ganking in Imperial City is like asking for tanks to get banned for grabbing aggro in dungeons. Either one is asking for bans for playing part of the game in a way that the devs intended for people to play.

If the campaign you are in is poplocked (has a lock for your faction's population and a queue) you usually will get kicked out of Cyrodiil if you log out to the last PVE zone you were in. If just disconnected for a short time, it usually puts you back in Cyrodiil.

If the campaign you are in isn't poplocked, then I usually log back into in Cyrodiil, so I dont know what happened there.

easy PvP build you (or friends) can craft cheaply: 5 pieces of impen heavy armor fortified brass, 5 pieces of shacklebreaker. those sets won't do anything for your damage, but they will give you survivability, and they will deter gankers if they realize they have to hit you for a while just to gain <100 tel Var.

There’s a million people fighting molag and I pray that I get something soon

I'm glad you found them. Getting a group to farm the centre is a good idea. Of course, it's going to be super busy now, but outside of the event it's a bit quieter (though my small party got killed by a group of AD last time we ventured to the centre).

Good luck getting the skin, and once the event is over, I do encourage you to do the quest in IC. It's not very long, but it's a nice story.

As I said: "Its a PVP zone with no way to reliably signal that you have peaceable intentions nor any incentive for PVPers to honor that. "

But I also say this as a PVP healer who runs around in Worms Raiment and tends to hold block and heal and run away when suddenly attacked, so I look nearly identical to a PVE quester except that I will go solo stealth siege your keep if you let me go...

Sorry you've had frustrating experiences. This is a player vs player zone, and so there's not any incentive for PVPers not to kill other players unless they decide not to.

If your alliance owns a good portion of the map, you can just use the transitus shrine to the closest keep (Chal for EP, Alessia for AD and Ash for DC). Save you a lot of time!

It honestly is the worst time to try and farm the skin/pet, I tried last year, because I thought that the 'double drops' would give me more of a chance. I followed a guild down to the centre and spent two hours killing Molag over and over and each time he turned into a pile of unlootable ash because there were too many people there. Then some DC players came and killed us all. Fun times.

The best thing is the extra tel var stones, you can trade them for boxes at your alliance sewer that give you the chance of getting the awesome Xivkyn polymorphs. Just farm enemies near your base's entrance and then run away when enemy players come. That's what I do. I'm not a coward though. Honest.

Honestly I’m so done with Cyrodiil. I just want to do the damn quest but no, stupid PvP people have to ruin it. No wonder why people are afraid of coming here or hate it. If I ever finish the damn quest I’m never coming back.

Imperial City is basically designed to a be a "ganker's" wet dream. In fact: I would argue this game's entire PvP system is specifically designed to favor ganking and zerging. And then they wonder why the place turns into a "ghost town" unless there is an event going on....

You would think they could figure that one out on their own.

Here is a tip for the system developers in charge of PvP on this game - getting ganked isn't fun. The only people who are going to enjoy that kind of PvP are sadistic players who simply enjoy grieving others - because it's certainly not interesting game play... on either side of the equation.

So if you intend on doing PvP on this game I would stick to battlegrounds. At least there the odds are kept more fair. This game's silly PvP works best on a smaller scale with fewer people involved - because then you actually have a chance of defending yourself and actually engaging in something that resembles combat that isn't just a lame and annoying gank-fest. But I know this advice doesn't particularly help you since you need to do Imperial City for your quest.

That place is a living hell. So unless you have a group to run with I would simply avoid it. No video game award is worth the b.s. you are going to have to endure trying to solo in that sewer (and when I say sewer I don't just mean it literally).
