Thanks for the suggestion! Flying mounts as a way to use Wayshrines, or status symbol, is a very fun and interesting idea. Unfortunately, we can't guarantee your idea will make it into the game. That being said, we really appreciate the time you took to share your idea with us and hope you will continue share any other feedback or suggestions you may have for us in the future.
Thank you very much for the response, it is appreciated! There is no question that the art team in ESO loves what they do and this would give them a new platform to have fun with.
Good ideabut the rooting the player when they get on the mount sounds okay but I might just want to use it also not to just fly from wayshrine to wayshrine but to also ride them on the ground as long as there would be an option that allows us to ride the flying mounts on the ground still and they aren't just meant to get from wayshrine to wayshrine I would be okay with it

I believe ZOS has a policy that they can't accept "suggestions"- but they can consider "feedback". They are probably already working on the idea of flying/hovering mounts (before you suggested it)- but they have to give you that response so that they don't look like they stole an idea.
@ZOS_Holden am I right about the "suggestions" policy?

The policy means that I would get no credit, mention, or reward for a suggestion. Which is 100% fine by me.
Get this dead horse out of here. Good idea though, but not gonna happen

EDIT: I re-read your post and now understand how you want it to function.... eh. I mean I guess it would be cool, and there's no reason *not* to have a function like this, but I think we may be able to find a better alternative.
That... actually would be a pretty neat and functional way to implement flying mounts. Just as "taxi service" to wayshrines... none of the troubles with -actually- flying...Unknown_Redemption wrote: »Suggested Item:

I dont see why not...SilverIce58 wrote: »Everybody wants flying mounts, but aside from gryphons and maybe a few daedra, there really aren't that many creatures that we could use to fly.
I don't think Cliff Racers are big enough sadly.

YesSpecialty Mounts JUST for free Fast Travelling?

Ancient Cliff Racer
Bone Dragons
Gryphons
Titans
Bull Netch
Gargoyl
Magic Carpets
Giant Forest Moth
Giant Torch Bug
Giant Vampire Bat
Giant Wisp

Not trying to rain on your parade, but magic carpets aren't a thing in this universe. Bone Dragons can't fly, they can probably glide, but aside from an immense source of magic they wouldn't be able to fly. Also, do you know how giant a torch bug/vampire bat would have to be to be rideable? And a wisp? Highly doubtful they can be ridden let alone touched. The cliff racer tho, could be possible.
Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of riding a creature as another version of a wayshrine, it's not a bad idea. But realistically, like I said, there aren't many creatures that can be used as a flying mount.
(Reman Cyrodiil did have giant moths with their thoraxes hollowed out and temples on its back used as spaceships, and the altmer had large sunbirds they used for space travel, but that was in the 1st era)
I am sure they could think of some things, I was just tossing out 1 second ideas.

You summon them from a quickslot and they act like a portable wayshrine. If you have it out, it would follow you around like any other assistant. And while they're at it, they can let us activate the mount "furnishing" in our house to travel out for free. The more I think about it, the more I like it.

Item Function:

- Using the mount triggers a visual mount and liftoff, similar to a momento, then enters a zoning screen.
- Upon finishing the zoning process, the player lands near the wayshrine with a second visual effect prior to dismounting.
Item Limitations:
- Upon activating the mount, your player is rooted.
- May not be used in combat.
- Porting to another player activates the current mundus visual; as they may be inside a dungeon where a flying mount can't reach.
Reasoning:
ESO's environment is not built for free flying exploration.
Allows the possibility for exciting drops and rewards from in-game content.
Allows the possibility for revenue growth with crown exclusive mounts.
Removes the outdated and trivial cost of teleporting to wayshrines.
Easy to implement.
Wonder if its possible for them to make gliding mounts instead of pure flying like Gw2
I cant even hit a skill in pvp at times without my bar greying out or being health desynched, hell even in pvp traveling to a different zone I suffer the slow frame rate per second, until zos fixes performance I dont want anything else.

No. There is no difference between the two. It is merely semantics.
I came in here wondering how this thread was still alive since the OP's idea is mounts that do not fly but have a load screen. Regardless. ESO will never have flying mounts. It is missing critical elements that make it impossible and it is far from worth it for Zos to make the necessary changes.

I LOVE the idea of having it able to be placed inside our homes and acting as a wayshrine out.

WoW devs and them caring about PvP? Absolutley not. It isn't about openworld PvP either, it's about skipping the ground-level content entirely.Sylvermynx wrote: »Facefister wrote: »Having flying mounts will effectively kill your overland, guaranteed. Yeah, because the pvp folks were and probably still are all that the wow devs care about. And that's one of the major parts of why I no longer give Blizzard any money, and haven't for a LOT of years. Flying was - wonderful. I spent a lot of time getting toons to that level so I could have flying mounts - and also had to accumulate a lot of gold for same.
And when Blizzard trashed that aspect of the game.... I quit giving them my money. A LOT of money.... seven subscribed accounts, paid six months at a time.
The only part of "overland" flying mounts "killed" was the pvp crap.
