    Because it's my magicka sorc.
On my stamina sorc i run left <> right constantly.

    Seems pretty obvious to me.

When I play sorc and shield stacking it helps with my timing which I do in PVP. If I'm doing dungeons or trials I do a lot less shield stacking so there's is no deed.

Also the LOS everybody has already mentioned...

They think its Oblivion, trying to max that Acrobat skill

Yeah i did this in Morrowind on those acrobatic toons.

It's also fun to jump and roll dodge when enemy is using time stop so your toons is caught in mid air flip. :p

They seen it at some pro-youtuber viceo?

if they're doing it for no reason then there's no "why" to it, but when i'm PvPing at range i seem to change direction at random because then people can't use prediction to target me; they have to rely on twitch. same reason you "zig-zag" when seeking cover from a sniper in real life.

I never jump around, in any game, ever, unless it's absolutely required for some reason. It bugs the hell out of me when others do it around me, which makes me leave the area before I get a migraine at the (what seems to be to me) massive stupidity. So I leave because they're obviously having...fun...or something, so I leave them to their...fun...or something.

lol if someone told you that, they must have forgot to tell you that it makes you take longer to break free esp. when hit by rune cage, javelin, bombard, meteor, etc.

Because on Xbox, the “A” button is used for both jump and to interact with environmental features (doors, nodes, loot corpses, etc) and targeting is horrendous so all those “jumps” you see me doing in Traitor’s Vault are really just failed attempts to open a wardrobe.

Add a couple pets, npcs, or other LoS blockers and you’ve got yourself a regular pogo party!

Bingo! I play on PC but use a controller and am always hopping around when I loot or try to interact

Personally, I find sorc to be a very rhythmic class. As someone who makes music and plays multiple instruments, playing sorc kinda feels like playing an instrument. When you hit the right notes, it’s magic. Probably has to do with the timing of it all.

Jumping helps set the pace. Kind of serves as a metronome.

Personally, i jump because its something i did often in Halo and WoW and it just kinda carried over, i jump on all my toons..

Whats your reason that you "Spam jump"?

This is my FAVOURITE forum question mainly cos of the answers. Of Which I think many are intended to keep a veil of mystery about it!!

    1. Total Banter innocent joke replies.
    2. Those that 'know' about jumping
    3. Those that jump but aren't sure why but do it just in case
    4. Those that have 'always' jumped as it did stuff in other games
    5. Those who want to know as think they should be jumping
    6. Gummie Bears

From what I can understand the main reasons are to help movement, in particular on console, to help keep block up or to help timing. Many say about being harder to hit / altering hit boxes bur I'm unsure that it actually does it.

Many call for jumping in combat to cost stamina ^ if it did help targeting harder I'm sure ZOS would Do that.

Jumping a lot can be to make it harder to hit, mixing up buttons or probably a way to taunt the other player into noticing them. It can be a diversion sorts so be cautious and see if they are trying to egg you on or they are an actual target.

I jump for lots of reason

Like in normal trials where things get to easy and I get excited I start jumpin casting to mimic the feeling in real life, like cant sit still thingy

In pvp, I jump to be able to target people if they are behind rocks, or the hill is makin my line of sight harder

also when im qusting I can find myself jumpin around like the la la laaaaa laaa feeling :D

damn, I see myself getting weirder and weirder when I type these reasons

For me it's a timing thing. I know on a magsorc, the main combo rotation i do is Conjured War, Curse, Jump, Light attack, Conjured ward, Frag proc (if lucky), curse explodes, runecage, frag out, jump to execute. I know two jumps in a row is the time it takes for curse to go off. idk it's weird but it's like a rotation for me personally. On Stam sorc, always running, no jumping. Constantly buffed and major/minor expedition up with a HoT going on.
