As the title says.
My first game was the pong on a console system dedicated to the one game with the paddles.
Ever since I was little and played river city ransom on nintendo I imagined how cool an mmo version would be. Always wanted to see it happen and one day it did, Ultima online was my first mmo.

Pong here too. Was there anything before that?

This is my first MMO, indeed my first online game of any kind. My son suggested it and I found it cheap on steam, was hooked in a few days and bought the extra chapter and a subscription.

I think it's just because it's Elder Scrolls really. I've played ES since Morrowind and the idea of getting to explore the rest of Tamriel was too good to miss after several years stuck in Skyrim (and Boston in FO4).

My first video game was Little Big Aventure (at least as far as I remember), it was awesome ! Damn, I want to play it now.

My first MMO was Guild Wars 1, and I played several others since. I don't really know why tho, I like the gameplay, cleaning content with guildmates, it's just fun.

First: Pitfall on the Atari 2600

ESO is my first mmo, just finished skyrim and wanted more so i tried eso, what i liked in the beginning is that i could play it pretty much by myself - did this till i was at around cp200 and then got hooked to group play. Joined a cult, erm guild, and started my first trials and now running trials with a progression team. I still like that i can do a lot of stuff alone if i wanted to as well as having fun with guildies.

I can't recall what the specific game would have been, but I began with an Atari 2600 when I was maybe two years old.

As a genre, I actually don't like MMOs. I'm very much a social creature, but I've always been focused on things like story as a gamer. I love ESO because it's the first and only MMO that I've played where the story doesn't just not suck, it's actually GOOD, and adds to the mythos of what is easily one of my favorite series ever.

I think it was "Larry the Lounge Lizard 1" about 30 years ago on my fathers first pc when I was a girl of about 12, he got the game from his brother. No idea if there was a major main quest but I loved it. Larry was adventuring in Las Vegas I think, he played slots and blackjack and maybe poker (in minigames), tried to get laid, forgot to use a condom when he got laid and got crabs, also he got into some very minor fights with bouncers or something...I learned a lot of english :D!
At the time I was secretly drewling to get my hands on a "very expensive" fantasy rpg-game though, cant remember what it was called.
I love mmos for exploring a fantasy world, developing characters, building homes and seeing others run about the world doing their thing, sometimes "uniting our forces" in group . Also I love being able to play with my huspand, sometimes fighting, sometimes just fooling around; we used to play gw2 together and Im happy I lured him to Eso too.

I played Oregon Trail on a teletype at the blazing speed of 12 characters per second.

I like most kinds of games; prefer story and gameplay over graphics, MMOs are just a portion of the games I like.

Super Mario Brothers on the original NES was my first game. My cousins had an Atari that I had played when I visited, but I can’t remember what we played.

ESO is my first true MMO, and I love the variety of different activities that we can do in pvp and pve environments. However, by far, my favorite aspect are the large battles that are possible in Cyrodiil in this game.

EA sports NBA 97 I won it in a raffle before I owned a computer.

Then lots of free demos and the games that came with windows 95 like chips challenge. I played civilization 1

This is my first MMO.... I ended up here by going through CoD 4 to Fallout 3 to Skyrim to here. People complain a lot about the dumbing down of the genre but I prefer intuitive gameplay instead of having to study rule books like people had to back in the day that pushed me away from this kind of game.

I want to say something related to Atari2600 first, but I do remember playing pong on a system with the wheel paddle thing at my uncle's house as a kid before using any friend's or my own Atari.

Learning how to kill AT-ATs on AtarI2600 Empire Strikes Back as a kid is fundamentally the same as beating vMA now, the same sort of frustration into joy.

Adventure on the Atari 2600 was my first video game. My parents bought the 2600 mainly for themselves but I ended up playing more than them.

My first MMO was Anarchy Online. My irl friends were heavily into it, and after watching them play one evening for a couple hours I was hook. Played as a Trox Martial Artist and a Solitus soldier. It was overwhelming to me at first, and I'm sure I would have given up if not for my friends.

Pitfall on a Coleco, I actually still have it and it still works.

I play MMOs for the PvP, first MMO was Shadowbane and nothing has come close to being able to satisfy the bloodlust in the way that game did.
Unless you are willing to be a mindless sycophant and/or coddle others due to their insecurities prepare to be harrased by the Orwellian enforcers on these forums. You should also try to refrain from using any words more complex than those used by a small child due to the fact that said enforcers have made it clear that their vocabulary pool is aenemic.

I notice a trend. Pong players are here because it is TES, despite being an MMO.

Stonegate, in 1984 after I got my first computer.... in b&w....

As for MMOs, I'm not all that fond of them - I like the fact that their worlds aren't static, but otherwise I just play them as a single player game; my lag's so bad I won't inflict it on others to do group content. Once in a while a friend helps me out, but otherwise....

Pong. it was the only game on the machine. First MMO was Everquest Online Adventures on PS2. LOTRO after that, then Rift, and now ESO. I mostly solo but still like the feel of a MMO. The game feels alive with real people running around.

    Same here, pong.

First MMO was Everquest Online Adventures on the ps2. Those were some fun times. I liked it because of the guild I was in, we forged some real life friendships and took down some of the hardest mobs in the game.

One quick story, an expansion came out and there was an overland boss you needed to kill to get a key to the expansion area. This boss was very hard to kill at first so most of the server was there helping each other get the key. While everyone was buffing up and getting ready, I dropped the controller and nuked the mob. It started aggro-ing everyone and it wiped probably about 70 people, including me. Was quite the site to see, and yes, everyone was pissed at me but I thought it was funny.

Pong but that was on some console thingy before home computers were really a thing. On my first real computer (Commodore 64 in 1981) I played Colossal Cave Adventure and similar games, then later the Sierra 'Quest' series of games (King's Quest, Space Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, etc). I've always very much into games that provided more freedom of choice and movement than the side-scrolling platform games and top-bottom space/race games that were the rage of the day.

I always liked MMOs for the same reason but occasionally burned out on the grind. ESO for me was just a return to MMOs fueled by a love for the ES franchise and the fact that my last burnout was long enough ago to get fueled up again :)
