What's next? style page components?

At first the motifs were in the whole chapter, like the racials ones, and they even have different look base on different levels;

Then motifs are separated to books, that contains several motif item (for example sword book contains sword and greatsword);

Then books are separated into pages, so instead of getting sword book unlock 2 items, you now need to obtain each indivisual pages;

And also in clourest you can now only obtain motif book components, which requires multiples to get a single book, with a cap per day as well;

And also now several "motifs" are outfit station only.

While all these in the crown store even prior to when they are available to obtain in game.

What's next for ESO? you can only obtain style page components in game, 10 components can craft 1 style page, and you can obtain 5 components per day per account, while the whole set in crown store for 5k crown?

Yes, it's getting ridiculous, take a look at the battlegrounds motifs (fang liar and scalecaller variants), very disgusting the way they implemented them: no tradable, only obtainable from a daily and BG only, no other way to get them, separated for weight light, medium, heavy (utterly disgusting), we get duplicates even if we don't see them so the chances terribly decrease, the grind is insane.

"What's next" is what you wonder and me too, I'm feeling I'm just wasting my time with this game when I see crap like this, they really should reevaluate these kind of choices, no fun, nor rewarding, just a huge waste of time.

They will keep on encroaching to see how far they can push it before the majority of the community flares up about it. As long as people keep on spending the crowns they will keep up the bull crap.

Don’t worry about it though. Have this free crown crate for logging in............ o:)

"And it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days. The fact that the word "monetized" exists points to the heart of the issue for us: We don't want the player to worry about which parts of the game to pay for - with our system, they get it all."

I do agree that Welkynar is a little ridiculous for being in paid additional content. Jewelry Crafting is one thing, as they likely plan to spin that out into a base game addition next year. They made it difficult in anticipation of that.

But Summerset will still be paid additional content after being demoted to DLC. The only explanation I can really think of is that Welkynar will be for many players a visually unattractive style and the only way to make it anything close to desirable was to artificially inflate its scarcity to an appropriately unattractive level.

That said, even for less strenuous grinds, the 5k motif is attractive. For me the money to purchase crowns is cheaper per unit than the time needed to acquire it in-game. Then I can just focus on the things without a crown store alternative.

Well, cosmetics is what sell most for many people and cosmetics attract people to games (me included), if this game looked like crap and my characters too, rest assured it wouldn't take two seconds for me to stop playing, I would not be even here if ESO had no cosmetics customization.

Cosmetics not only are important for some, they are utmost important, do you have the faintest idea how much money some people spend in this game for cool mounts, outfits and all the jazz? When I first started, I cared a lot about getting as many full motifs as possible. Lately I couldn’t care less as I realize with the new implementation and methods, I’m just never going to get every style fully. I’ve stopped even buying motifs from traders now. If their intention was to make getting full motifs harder and/or more complicated to make me play the game more or spend real money it didn’t work. I just don’t care anymore.

I'm not looking forward to the Welkynd motif at all. That's probably going to be a decent moneymaker for people who run trials. But only if ZOS delays the crown store version. If crown store is released before or same day, many people are just going to pay in crowns or pay in gold for crown gift trade since that will probably be a ton cheaper than they will be on guild traders.

The Place by Tony Walsh Please Read
This is the place in the North West of England

It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing

From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking

Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and

So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome

And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe it

that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And that this the place where a Manchester girl

Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side

Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science

We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance

In the face of a challenge we always stand tall

Mancunians in union delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries, and health, education

And unions and co-ops, the first railway station

So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!

But we hope you forgive us – we invented computers!

And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls

And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul

And so this is the place to do business, then dance

Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids

And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did

And this is the place where our folks came to work

Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt

And they built us a city. They built us these towns

And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound

Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves

They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves

And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe

The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive

And to work and to build, to connect and create and

Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great

And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own

Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat

All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times

Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit

Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics

And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city

But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity

Because this a place where we stand strong together

With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever

And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)

Can get funding and something to help with their scheme

Because this is the place that understands your grand plans

We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere

You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer

You can live local, give local. We can honestly say

We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams

We support local dreamers to work for their dreams

We support local groups and the great work they do

So can you …help us help… local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes

Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones

‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact

That this is the place. We should give something back.

Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester.

After we collect the 20 bop fragments, which can only be obtained one at a time once a day per account, to create a single motif page, we'll need then have to farm 50 igredients that drop in vHM II dungeons, which will be capped at 5 per day per account, to create the resin to put the pieces together, which will cost about 10k from the NPC you need to bring the scraps too.

Have to agree with you here, altho I'm not a hunter of outfit styles, the outfit option addition was very welcome. I played world of warcraft where they had transmorgification for ages (which is kinda the same thing) and mix matching different set pieces just looks atrocious, and I would definitely NOT play a game which I don't enjoy visually.

Some motives are supposed to be extra rare, so they had the choice to either make the droprate extra low, or give them out in bits and pieces. They prolly figured a super low droprate would frustrate people, and went with the piecemeal approach. Which makes it a super-annoying chore to get them together, which makes them rare and valuable and epeen-bragworthy for those who do get them. Duh.

All the while having them also sit in the crown store too, taunting people to buy them, hoping someones nerve will break and they will pay for the overpriced crown store motivs because they just cannot bear grinding for them in-game anymore. Duh.
    good-good-let-the-capitalism-flow-through-you.jpg
    :p;)
I mean, what exactly about this is any kind of surprise???

As for whats next... more of the same. More super-duper rare motivs that you will have to painfully farm for month after month while the crown store is tempting you to spend your hard earned money instead. Duh.

Best we can hope for is that someday these motivs will go the same way as ther Orsinium item sets - which used to be Bind-on-Pickup, but later got changed to BoE so people could sell them in the crown store too - after a while, when something else was the "next new thing". So, maybe in a year all those BoP motivs too will switch to BoE so you can start finding them sold in crownstores... while some new BoP motivs make you despait all over again! :p;)

    Paragraphs, then sentences.

Draw out loot completion in an attempt to make content stay relevant. Add more filler to the inventory system. Make Crown Store purchases more appealing on multiple fronts.

It's a trifecta marketing choice that gives many rewards with minimal effort. At least from the Zeni perspective. Something I see no end in sight to.

I'm skeptical that this is correct; it has been my experience that once new motifs go live, there is a significant decrease in the Master Writ drops for my main crafter until the new ones are learned. Can we really be certain how the percentages are allocated?

For instance, it could be that every motif style fully learned equals .1% extra chance added to the initial 5% figure, but if you have them all, you get an extra 10%. How can we really know for sure? (Note that these figures are speculative.)

A better system that would be far less punishing would be to simply add that .1% on top of whatever players already know, instead of subtracting the 'bonus' every time a new one is released.
