You can get more components for doing cloudrest on harder modes.

Having incentives and rewards in the game for attempting and completing harder content isn't a bad thing.

But I forgot - this is the forum where everyone wants everything for free, immediately, or it's just ZoS trying to abuse their entire family with the crown store.

Scraps that can be combined into random pages using a 10k Resin of Frustration. Perfect.

    Fixed

I thought they had learned their lesson with Glass but I guess not

Not sure I can say this right but I'll try

Its not about wanting something for free or immediately either. I only play the game for fun and being an MMO I accept there is a fair amount of grind involved. Took 478 days of play before I scored the imperial style book I just backgrounded that one and eventually it dropped so no problems with patience.

With Summerset I've pretty much hit, maybe gone past my limit for the grind. Not completed any of the motifs from it yet, nowhere near and looking at the amount of effort, effort not fun, that I'd have to invest to probably achieve them doesn't encourage me to play.

Same with jewellery smithing I'd planned to make a number of body piece sets , weapon+jewellery sets and monster sets so I could mix and match things nicely. The way it was set up meant I've mostly given up on the idea for now, getting the necessary mats for even one jewellery set is painful, to do the number I'd originally wanted would have me quitting the game forever if I tried for it out of sheer frustration

The developers seem to have gotten the idea that progress is "add another 0 to the end of the grind." when it should be about depth and breadth of play, not repeat something 10x more for effectively the same result.

I find this a real worry as I know there will soon come a point where I'll go do something else where I can have fun and get something that feels rewarding in an evening and ESO will be put back on the shelf.

Next will be word by word.
And you'll need to find them in the correct order. So you need to get the first word to drop, and then wait until you get the second word, etc.
This way, you'll have a deep lore knowledge about the style you're acquiring.
Wouldn't this be loads of fun?
    - NOT

It's a 4-5 year old MMO that has already been entirely revamped once. While I see people's points about the minimal and incremental ways to progress and achieve, it is what it is at this point.

You seriously trying to convince us you haven't figured it out even as you write out the reason?

Here's the pro-tip: store is for people who don't want to grind. But, increase the grind, this pisses people off (completionists, mostly) and they break down and buy the motif.

When we have a customer we don't want, we don't just kick them out. We raise their prices. Then continue to do so until we've priced them out.

This way, they "chose" to leave and we can say we didn't kick them off.

Just as ZoS can claim they didn't force people to buy the motifs.

Don't think ZOS would want to force old players out tho, they are the ones paying sub fee.

However, ZOS marketing certainly feel like there are more blood to suck from its customers

That's super deep but it doesn't change the fact that overhauling the reward system in the game is an expense a company won't be spending on a game at this stage in it's life cycle. I'm sorry about the truth, though.

After we collect the 20 bop fragments, which can only be obtained one at a time once a day per account, to create a single motif page, we'll need then have to farm 50 igredients that drop in vHM II dungeons, which will be capped at 5 per day per account, to create the resin to put the pieces together, which will cost about 10k from the NPC you need to bring the scraps too.

    Sounds like the Neverwinter method.

There is a difference between having goals that are attainable when you play a game daily and when you don't get anywhere when we talk about motifs as a reward for doing content. I have still not found all pages for completing glass motif on my main crafter which I have been playing since the dawn of this game....so I think your comment just show how little you really understand this game. Nobody are asking to be given anything, but over time most pages for motif should be possible to get without going to CS and simply buy those. We have a lot of achievement in this game, but when it start to feel just a very steep uphill to even complete collecting those items to get there it can backfire into that people just simply give up and leave game instead.

Not sure that people are looking for an overhaul. Just to not see it continue to degenerate on its current trajectory. If there are any adjustments to be made it would be to new drops and having them changed to whole pages. Not really that extensive or costly I would imagine.
