Yesterday has someone run ahead at the start. Good the group to stay back and let him die.

After he did did and we cleared what he pulled I told him to follow the group or did a lot. He listened.

Besides that the person your addressing isn’t going to see this message. Just FYI.

I agree on communication thing. And in my experience it always works. I even managed few times to persuade a tank to stay when we had low dps. It took time but we got through in the end.

    For the advanced player:
If someone needs the quest and they say so, give them the 5 seconds to talk to the NPC. If someone needs gear, don't run ahead and start soloing the boss so they can't get through the door or get their loot. If someone says it's their first time in the dungeon or they don't understand mechanics, take five seconds to type a few brief directions so they know what to do on their next run. If you see someone hard-casting crystal frags with a bow, take five seconds to ask them nicely if they want help with their build so they do more damage. If you don't have time to do any of these things, you should not be PUGing. Form your own group.

Good luck with that. New to the game, so most of my dungeons are new to me and I'm doing the quest (because you know, I'm sorry if I am wasting your CP500+ time but I might need the reward at the end as well as the extra XP for that quest).

3 PUGS out of 4, despite clearly saying and showing that I am doing the quest (and by "doing" I don't mean listening to the whole convo for 2 minutes but clicking the choices in 2 seconds... so in the end I don't even have a clue what the hell is going on except we are here to kill something), you still have those high levels speed running through it and not even giving you time to talk to the NPC (by the way most of the time you can't even talk to them right away as you have to wait for them to arrive/do something/talk to another NPC).

Should I also mention the end of the dungeon when everyone is leaving at once, leaving you alone which kicks you out shortly (what a great idea, whoever is the idiot that thought it was a good feature). Yeah, maybe I need to talk to that NPC again to complete my quest (especially when, as mentioned above, you have to wait one minute before you can actually talk to them).

These dungeons are the most stressful experience, you can never be sure you have enough time to talk to NPCs. I am already sick of them.

Same applies in overland grind areas. I was doing my 10 minute zombie grind in Coldharbor and had someone get angry that my max level character was "in a level 30 zone" and "ruining the xp" for their two person group. I finished the 400k inspiration grind quickly then let them know:

    1) Everything scales and there are no area levels
    2) No one owns any area of an MMO
    3) The change in xp for a third isn't "ruining" Xp. Slows it down but not like having 7 people there.

A lot of people apparently have no idea how the game works. I am polite, but if they unleash a constant stream of attacks, I point out all the fallacies in their arguement.

Same here, I was doing a soulgem run in Spellscar to fill up the few hundred soul gems I have in my bank. And someone said
    exactly the same thing.

A couple of weeks ago, I left a guild I've been with for a long time because many of the users have been inactive, with the longest being 3 years (before I stopped reading the list).

I found a new guild, recently started, and the GM was looking for new members. No dues (I don't sell because this game hates me and motifs are as foreign to me as Latin), just a guild helping others.

Last weekend, I got to run two dungeons thanks to a member of the guild wanting to run. I mentioned the only dungeon I've done was DSA... 4 years ago, and haven't done one since, so I need to do normal because I don't think I'm ready for vet.

They were shocked over the 4 years and no dungeons, but they were very open to doing normal. We found another guild member who was the healer, then we pugged for a tank.

We finally found one and she wanted to do veteran. After I explained why I was doing normal, she actually seemed very happy to help out, even giving pointers along the way. When one of our members lost connection due to a storm, she helped out again running the same dungeon.

The point of this story is to remind people not everyone is the absolute rear-end of a baboon, and good people still play.

It's a shame the "advanced" players are those who forgot what it was like to be new, or run a dungeon for the first time.

But so far, I'm going to say my experience has been positive.

Now Battlegrounds, that's a different set of abuse. My goodness, the people who run that and take everything so serious (or rage quit when they're team is losing) is laughably no different than me watching people throw their Atari 2600 controllers at their TV.

    Games may have changed.

    Gamers have not.

I've literally had groups whine because I ran ahead and killed everything. If I can kill all the adds before you catch up that's your problem not mine.

Yeah, because it's a group dungeon, and shockingly, your group might like to participate at a slower pace.

As a stam DD, I dislike using my fighting resource to sprint to keep up with party members who rush ahead.

As a healer or tank, I don't rush, period. I'm going to stay with the bulk of the group and I'm definitely going to stick with the person doing the quest. You aggro it, you can tank it until I get there.

if you're wanting to take in the whole story and be immersed, the Dungeon Finder is probably not the way to go. People of all levels, even the fellow lowbie's that have done the quest once are going to be less inclined to wait for each dialogue option to be perused.

If you're wanting to hear the story or check containers, a premade four-man with similar goals is a better way to go.

Group finder groups will generally accommodate to an extent, sometimes clearing trash adds that do not take away from your quest experience, but some of the dungeon dialogue is a bit wordy, and even the best of patience will run thin after a bit.

Notify ahead of time about the quest. Notify ahead of time about being new/unfamiliar (the one does not always go with the other, for assorted reasons), and most groups will take the time to summarize fights in chat while you listen to quest dialogue. Then it works out for all parties involved.

Of course, there will be exceptions, which is why premades will guarantee the pace you choose.

It's analogous to moving between city blocks. Most using the RDF are interested in getting to the bank at the next stop light and cashing their paycheck. If someone's wanting to take the architectural tour, that's not going to be the car you'll want to be riding in.

Not trying to be harsh, just offering some relevant advice for both parties.

I never said that I wanted to hear the whole story. I said that even going through the dialogue in 2 seconds most people are still impatient because most of the time you can't even talk to the NPC right ahead and you have to wait that they can be interacted with.

Tanks aren't needed in non-DLC dungeons so you can take your sweet time. The loot will be waiting for you when you get there

Hi there. I'm Jimmy, aka 1337NB420. I chose to roleplay as a monkeybutt, and you have no right to tell me I can't play as I like.

    It’s all good.

Vote passed. “1337NB420” has been removed from the group.

Which is why I recommend using a premade.

I have no issue with someone doing the quest or interacting with the dialogue, so long as they're taking a reasonable amount of time. I can even go so far as to tell you which are the longwinded NPC's or which ones RP walk the mile and a half to the next checkpoint.

But my suggestion stands. Often people are doing RDF for the daily XP bonus or for quick Undaunted rep gains. Accommodating as some may be, you always have a one in three chance of getting yourself an *** when you RDF.

Until they group people in tiers (which will have its own benefits and downsides), there will continue to be a chance for this to happen.

If you premade, the pace is always yours to choose.
