Onslaught 1-shot build

Just had a cool idea. Onslaught refunds the cost of ultimate if the enemy dies from the blow. The new balorgh set can give up to 1000 weapon damage if you save the ultimate long enough. I'm thinking about rune-cage to onslaught for guaranteed hit, maybe throw in clever alchemist for extra shablam and you'll be 1-shotting people left and right. My only question is whether onslaught only refunds the 150 ult cost or if it will refund the amount of ult consumed because this could be really deadly.

Could also use fear, cloak, onslaught for guaranteed crit and bonus stealth damage but I don't own a cheeseblade.

Onslaught from sneak is pretty deadly already.

Sounds like a high-maintenance build, but I'm sure someone can get it to work.

Does Balorgh really give you all your charged ultimate points ? Does it not give you only the cost of that ult ?

    Very very much so.

The fear idea or petrify would work better if you are in range.

Agreed, I only mentioned rune cage because I main a storc and it can still lock someone down for a sec if they don't dodge it with the nerf but a NB could probably make the most out of this with cloak and the bonus damage they have built in.

Yes it gives weapon damage on ULT spent regardless of how much the ULT actually cost up to a 1000 bonus at the ULT cap of 500.

LOL this was not tested? It was one of the first things I thought of when I saw that set. Kudos for the onslaught though. I was thinking of some other strats with it but they assumed it was based on ultimate cost (since that what the set says but then I should have learned not to trust ZOS tooltips). :p

EDIT: no it actually says consumed. I could have sworn it said cost when I checked it some time ago but that might have changed.

Ok, so assuming it doesn´t give you the WD to the ultimate you use (need to test but in that case its destro or something for me), lets go with... Nightblade using bolstering darkness and then snipe + asylum spray + execute.

    Seems legit <3

Does the balorgh damage buff apply to the ultimate which triggered it? Or is the buff only applied to you after the ultimate has been used?

I would guess it is the latter, since the size of the buff depends on the amount of ultimate consumed, which is only known after the ultimate has been used.

From what I read the buff applies to the ultimate used as well but I have not tested this myself. It was some thread with people talking about it when still in PTS. If anyone can confirm this that have use the set themselves that would be great.

It only refunds 150 ult, not total consumed. However I do wonder if it stacks. You could get some seriously good trains going with that.

How about allowing us to rename our weapons if it affects the ulti damage when you use it? I´ll get an Asylum 2h maul, rename it "The Ragequit Inciter", get Balorgh + sheer venom + clever alchemist backbar or something. Then; Bow opening perhaps, jump in with ambush -> incapacitating strike, spam reverse slash+LA.

You can imaaaaaaaaaagine the possibilities o:)

I admire the thought that goes into this stuff but seriously don't use a one shot build. It's just not fun for people. 2 shot builds are legit though

Are you sure it converts all 500 ultimate points into 1000 damage? Knowing how ultimate works I have a feeling that you'll get power based of the cost of the ultimate.

Also they are both dodgeable as mentioned... That means shuffle have 50% to dodge your 2 shot combo.

Ok, when I saw this thread I wanted to test it. From my test it does give the buff to the ultimate used. I had no other buffs but the weapon I used and the 2p set, but the damage done with the ultimate was higher than my tooltip. Swapped the 2p for 2p of Kena to get the same base stats as with the Balorgh and that hit did the same damage as the tooltip confirming that the 2p of Balorgh did increase it.

How ever, something seems to be off with the amount that it gives me. Tried doing it with 500 ultimate consumed and then just 150 or at least close to 150. The amount given was not consistent. I got 1000 wpn dmg from 150 once and only 300 ish when at 500. And another test at 249 gave only around 300 as well. NOTE. This was tested on current PTS as of writing so the wpn dmg about might have been fixed on live. But I think its intended to give 1000 wpn dmg at 500 ultimate consumed, otherwise it would have probably given me a fixed amount everytime. Can someone with the set test on live to confirm if its fixed, broken or unintended?

Bonus stealth damage on players was removed since morrowind. However, there is still the master assassin passive which grants 10% weapom and spell damage if you are crouched or invis

I'm not on PC so I can't help, but I think I remember reading in the PTS forum that people were saying Balorgh buffs based on your previous ultimate, not the one you have just used. I assumed this was a bug and would be fixed but I don't know as I can't test it. Anyone have more information?

I've been attempting to run Onslaught on my stamblade for the resistance ignoring features. It really doesn't hit hard enough now to be that useful. I've had players in execute range and a crit doesn't kill them. And I have the skill critting for 30K against pve mobs. Add to that it is dodgeable. Balorgh may add some value to it, but I feel like more often than not, you are going to be wasting the ultimate.

That would make sense of my test. Cause I got the 1000 wpn buff after I already tested 500 ulti and didn't get it.
