Since this matter does not seem to get the attention that it should, and with White Gold Tower being one of yesterdays daily pledges, I decided to conduct some additional research and check out the Crematorial Guards that we have previously spoken about but not checked out yet.
Here are the results:

As you can see, the Guards breaths cone is at least as big and wide as the one from the Daedroths in the Imperial City and sewers, and you can get hit wherever you stand inside of that cone, even at the sides as shown in the third screenshot. The last screenshot in particular confirms that you can get hit by it even if you stand at the very edge of the breaths cone, since the person at the bottom of the screenshot does so and clearly gets damaged by the mighty Daedroths fiery breath of doom, which was definitely not the case with the player set.
I was also able to confirm during my testing that it is indeed almost impossible to outrun the big crocodiles by simply walking away from them without dodging or sprinting, which I was easily able to do when we tested the player set as shown in the first post of this thread.
So this brings me to the conclusion of my most recent research: No matter the type of NPC Daedroth, player summoned Daedroths are at a signficant disadvantage when you compare them to their NPC counterparts. If the player set Daedroth was to be buffed to have the same hitbox as well as chasing power as shown here by his NPC brethren, he would be a formidable companion indeed, and we would have one more great monster set to add to our arsenal.
Edit: Somehow it won't let me attach the images at their full size, so I have provided links to them instead.

BIG CROCODILES
I totally ignored that the Crematorial guards have the same breath animation as the set daedroth. Then all they must do, is copy paste that into the maw of the infernal breath.
Since this thread was totally ignored, I thought maybe the maw has a buggy animation. Obviously that is not true, as other daedroths have the same animation + working hit box.
ZoS don't care about combat pets, they prove it each patch...
