Since this matter does not seem to get the attention that it should, and with White Gold Tower being one of yesterdays daily pledges, I decided to conduct some additional research and check out the Crematorial Guards that we have previously spoken about but not checked out yet.

    Here are the results:

    https://prnt.sc/kbr32q

    https://prnt.sc/kbr3xs

    https://prnt.sc/kbrdj6

    https://prnt.sc/kbr4vn

    https://prnt.sc/kbr5qe

As you can see, the Guards breaths cone is at least as big and wide as the one from the Daedroths in the Imperial City and sewers, and you can get hit wherever you stand inside of that cone, even at the sides as shown in the third screenshot. The last screenshot in particular confirms that you can get hit by it even if you stand at the very edge of the breaths cone, since the person at the bottom of the screenshot does so and clearly gets damaged by the mighty Daedroths fiery breath of doom, which was definitely not the case with the player set.

I was also able to confirm during my testing that it is indeed almost impossible to outrun the big crocodiles by simply walking away from them without dodging or sprinting, which I was easily able to do when we tested the player set as shown in the first post of this thread.

So this brings me to the conclusion of my most recent research: No matter the type of NPC Daedroth, player summoned Daedroths are at a signficant disadvantage when you compare them to their NPC counterparts. If the player set Daedroth was to be buffed to have the same hitbox as well as chasing power as shown here by his NPC brethren, he would be a formidable companion indeed, and we would have one more great monster set to add to our arsenal.

Edit: Somehow it won't let me attach the images at their full size, so I have provided links to them instead.

    BIG CROCODILES <3

I totally ignored that the Crematorial guards have the same breath animation as the set daedroth. Then all they must do, is copy paste that into the maw of the infernal breath.

Since this thread was totally ignored, I thought maybe the maw has a buggy animation. Obviously that is not true, as other daedroths have the same animation + working hit box.

Yep, big crocodiles  My favourite being the ones cooling themselves in the water here: https://prnt.sc/kbt7bn

I think the heat bothers them as much as it bothers us.

Yeah, when I saw the White Gold Tower daily yesterday, I checked this thread and saw that it had kind of dropped off, and since no one had commented on the guards I thought I would conduct the research myself.

I think with those findings we can pretty much rule out a bugged animation. If there is indeed a bug involved here, it would likely be a bugged hitbox. If they fixed that, the set would possibly become quite potent in PvP, which is where its main use would lie in my opinion.

Perhaps the Daedroths hitboxes were bugged once upon a time, and they fixed the ones of the NPC Daedroths, while forgetting about the player ones. This is all speculation of course, but as you said, it should be really easy to fix, and hopefully we can raise a bit more awareness of this issue now.

That is sad. I would hope that the developers would work towards improving every aspect of the game they design and take pride in. Overlooking certain aspects that do not seem important could end up in the loss of something great that would add more variety into the game. This is something that I know they are trying to do with all of the patches that added sets from One Tamriel all the way to the Summerset patch. The fans of this game also will love to see improvement in old and outdated sets. In fact, they have been doing this recently with some of the pvp sets; however, if we just let the sleeping dog lay on subjects like this then these sets and other sets like it that need a second look will be overlooked. I am sure we would all enjoy having life breathed into old sets once more. So let us help the developers make this game the best it can be and spread awareness about subjects such as this one.

Do you think it's even possible that such old sets are being looked into ?

Maybe not right away, but information is surely important for it to be looked at. Also look at first patch notes. A couple sets got revisions. So have hope and keep sharing information on it.
