It is annoying since the lighting in creation is questionable. I do get why it was implemented, however. Sadly it was put in to help mitigate gold seller spam early on. Why we can't have nice things...

Gold sellers certainly hate the 24hr character deletion timer. It's the single most effective weapon against them.

Nope. It's there for your "protection" in case your account gets hacked or your angry girlfriend/wife doesn't think you spend enough time with the family. She can't delete all your characters at once.

It saved me from my son deleting all of my characters on accident. He only deleted one. ( and it was able to be recovered)

What you really mean is:
Fix the character generator lighting

so that what you see IS what you get in game
race is something you can check long before getting to the chargen or fix later

Any other reason for changing the delete process benefits only the RMT

I am happy with it, implementing a character delete limit combated an issue where goldsellers were going round doing quick quests for gold, banking it, deleting the character and starting a new one.

It fixed a problem and I am happy with that. I'd rather look at my character after character creation and dwell on what I did wrong than having goldsellers wrecking the game more than they do.

I understand why the deletion limit is in place, though a simple addition of lighting options during character creation would alleviate much of the issues people have with their new character's appearance.

You can delete any character instantly - as long as it isn't more than 3 characters instantly - then there is a cooldown of 24 hours per delete. So after 1 day you can delete 1 more character, if you don't delete another for 3 days, you can delete 3.

It's a cooldown on the number of deletes per day, not a cooldown on the time between creating and deleting a character.

You get 3 deletions, then you gain back 1 per 24 hours.

I did, now I don't. I started the game with 7 nightblades and 1 DK, I now have 2 of each class (3 NB's).

Be more mindful of your choices at creation.

You can play one of your other 7-14 alts while you wait.

That, or you can pay more attention at character creation time. I've yet to hear a valid justification for needing to purge multiple characters in one sitting.

And don't you get a stack of three deletions, to start?

That's a little hard when the character creation screen is dark, often misleading about hair color, and doesn't let us see our character in movement or with any great expression.

I mean, I can't say I'm much of a perfectionist myself that I need to remake characters, but I can understand why people do when the character looks different in real play than in the character creation screen.

I have to say that I play all the way zoomed out for largely tactical reasons, and I spend more time looking at my characters' backsides than their faces (not even in a sexual way, just that is the bit of them that is in the middle of my screen most often). I actually get annoyed when Zeni put facial adornment stuff on the crown store or in crates, because I spend so little time looking at that end of my characters.

The one character I have been completely unable to get right is Lucia, she looks really angry and I have been completely incapable of rectifying her angry looks.
