That's absolutely not true. I wouldn't have a proper excuse not to transform all of my 8 chars into vampires. Prevents me from playing like I want.

Vampires shouldn't even be allowed to enter cities beyond stage 1 if this was still a TES-game. But I agree, that's only an aspect of the problem. All the glowing skins, mounts and now even weapons... I really wish to have an option to toggle off the glowing effect on these. Show me a simple imperial horse instead of the Psijik one. Would be a dream!

Let me spelll it out for you. ESO created strains to specifically let you live in daylight.

Let me spell it out for you. Reference Oblivion and Skyrim and you will see that two very different kinds of vampirism exist in the world of the Elder Scrolls (Skyrim vampires did not take damage in the sunlight, by the way). ESO did not create anything that had not already been created before as it pertains to how vampirism in Tamriel works. Why lie about something that's so easy to disprove? It's a pretty braindead arguing tactic.

Last I heard ESO is a separate game development. The decision is theirs. I stand by what I said.

Oblivion strain of vamparism can disguise themselves to stay hidden that's to clavicus vile. Skyrim there was a vampire that blended in nicely to the population

You know what I don't hear? Your ideas for balancing Werewolf...You want to make Vampirism even more OP than it is without considering how you would balance Werewolf. Being able to blend in completely while maintaining Vampirism stats makes it too powerful to balance fairly.

I do though understand the desire to look exactly how you want to, but we can't have our way completely, and Vampirism is a special case. For the record, I'll say what others have said. if you are against vampires hiding their skin, you are not allowed to use anything but the worst cosmetics.

Personally I don't use any cosmetics besides the Khajiit Ear Tufts.

Because I would know that Zos gave in to some forum users ( was going to use something harsher but it would get deleted ) that made a conscious choice to become a vampire know that it would have a negative visual effect, so if zos give into these forum users then we are on to a slippery slope of what will be next , as many have pointed out there are mechanics in the game to use .
Best idea would be to get rid of vampire and werewolf that would solve all these threads

I made a similar comment on the opposing thread.
I don't want to hide Vampirism entirely, but I'd love to be able to choose which stage my character looks like it is at - without having to be at that actual stage.

For example, most of us run Vamp at stage 4 pretty much permanently - especially PVPers - for the dark stalker passive.

Personally I don't see the point of stage 1 Vamp, you just look a bit pasty and pale.

But stage 2 I really do love - It's obviously Vamp, so not trying to hide that fact. But it's subtle enough to not totally ruin the looks of the character I originally created.

Stage 3 is still pretty OK, just a little more ravenous. Still not horrific.

Stage 4 is pretty grim though.
And I understand why they made it this way, your'e supposed to be a starving vampire who is at their most extreme.
But with so many other disguises, illusions, even plain old make-up! Surely we could get a way to disguise a stage or 2 to look less menacing.
I'd pay crowns for some specific 'Vampire Make-up' to take my Characters appearance back to the look of stage 2.

I see people bringing up "balance issues" here. Is it seriously being suggested that everyone would be a vampire without the appearance as a negative? Should we really be balancing the game through cosmetic factors?

If vampire is OP then that's a separate argument to be addressed through stats and mechanics rather than through appearances, surely.

Seriously? Forcing players to put on shiny skins if they don't wanna look like a corpse is an appropriate penalty for you? I'd understand if hiding vampirism was prevented completely but that is obviously not intended.
Again, what exactly would the disadvantage for you personally be if the vampire look was a toggle? If there is none, your answer should be "I don't want you to be happy because your happiness makes me less happy."
There are real meaningful penalties to being a vampire. Not being able to hide is not one of them.

Because it clearly seems that this is a cosmetic issue then and should put a option to hide vamp in the crown store between 2500 - 5000 crowns that way keeps everyone happy

Because I would know that Zos gave in to some forum users ( was going to use something harsher but it would get deleted ) that made a conscious choice to become a vampire know that it would have a negative visual effect, so if zos give into these forum users then we are on to a slippery slope of what will be next , as many have pointed out there are mechanics in the game to use .
Best idea would be to get rid of vampire and werewolf that would solve all these threads

Vampirism is a mandatory endgame buff that makes yoir character ugly.

In an MMO, looking cool is half the fun. Vampirism ruins that fun.

Illusion magic to hide your appearance (including vampirism) is common in TES lore. There is no reason why it shouldn't be available in this game (NPCs use it all the time).
