@cpuScientist - that was brought up in the meeting and the devs mentioned they would try to get something for update 20. I will make it a point to remind them of the Repentance thing because I think it's terrible design.

Oh please no. If anything remove the Fire we have, and give templar buffs to Magic damage (holy light!). I know fire is king now, but that's just because of their stupid increase to LA damage, thus LA and blockade of fire equate to such a huge % of DPS.
I feel like all this would do is turn templar into a 2nd string DK, with a better ranged option.
Hell, if you really want to go that way, just remove mag damage completely and replace with appropriate elements: finally Warden would have a buff with a passive increase to fire, fire shall, flame bear (or more thematically polar bear) etc. But then change my war maiden set to fire too, so I don't need to decon it.
Fixed that for you!Can you guys just suggest to them and save their trouble with the useless beam buffs that their skills are flat out lacking in damage and rather than buffing their base damage, give them a proper hard CC skill in the spirit of blinding flashes

Honestly, I've never liked or understood the concept of "Magic Damage". What exactly does that feel like? Does it burn you? Well it should be fire then. Does it shock you? well it should be lightning then. Does it just physically impact you? Well...physical etc...
I feel like Magic Damage should just be trashed. Or it should always morph into Physical damage when using stamina weapons, and Elemental damage (Fire, Ice, or Lightning) if using the appropriate staff.
I haven't thought hard about this, so excuse any glaring problem it would cause, lol.

Magplars and magDKs use DW and S&B a lot, that would basically force them to use ranged weapons with their melee class abilities, which reduce build diversity a lot.
Quite a few mDK abilities do magic damage; like Inhale, Choking Talons, Stonefist and Fossilize. If they suddenly became physical damage because you are running DW, that would hurt.

Well, like I said I didn't really think hard on this, lol. I just don't like the idea of magic damage.
Dks use DW?

Another idea is to take the original Beta restoring spirit passive @Joy_Division keeps talking about and tie it to rune focus morphs. One morphs would return magicka, the other stamina. Yes that is much more convoluted and annoying than having it as a passive but it feels like complicated, obnoxious ideas are an easier sell than flat buffs.
Alternatively, you could have restoring focus reduce the cost of stamina abilities if you are worried about blockplars getting stam while blocking (even though wardens can do that with green netch). So many ways to bake some sustain into the class. If only there was a will.

wrobel promised some stamina sustain change for templars coming with update 20. he mentioned that this stamina sustain opportunity will also help out group support or sustain. so my guess is, that they add stamina steal to repentance, but nobody knows.

Can't wait for stamplar to have better sustain in... THREE MONTHS?!
I'm so tired of this minimal-effort quarterly update schedule.
Other studios make it their day-by-day job to do quality control and ensure balanced combat.
Report a bug or a major gameplay imbalance to ZOS and it MIGHT be fixed... in the next quarterly update!
It's just sad at this point lol
