Compensation - A Free Pet?

  • wolfsnare

I was able to play 0 minutes with 3-days pre-access. Yesterday night I started the game and the server was patched. Today I start the game and I receive a message that the server is prepared for launch.

Thank you Zenimax for selling me a "product" that I cannot use. Thank you for your support of working people who cannot play the whole day but only 2-3 hours a day on specific time. I give a sh... on your pets and your extended time period which I cannot use. I do not care about money, but I care about service. Deliver and I am satisified. Deliver not and I will quit.

You act like you can't play tomorrow when the game is launched. 3-day early access means you can log in 3 days before launch. It doesn't mean you can play 3 days straight before the game comes out, and it certainly won't wait to release after you've gotten 72 hours of game play in. Quit complaining.

No I pre - purchased and gave them my money months ago so it could be reinvested by the bean counters.

It was not a bonus or a thank you. It was incentive which by law is part of the purchase. Look it up.

What really suck about that is it's still going to lock me out of the game for ~36 hours since the giant uber limited special edition I bought has to ship. I entered the code that I got for buying the thing, it should at least let me play until it gets here.

I paid more and I'm going to get to play less.

Make no mistake, I'm sure todays downtime was scheduled. By saying in some locations it is 4/4 shows that they knew the servers must come down for that. Every MMO does it prior to launch (I don't know of one that hasn't so I may be wrong in saying every). just not usually during prime time. That's only because the server spans so many time zones its always going to be prime time somewhere.

and yes if all of us didn't have our noses to our screens playing we probably would have figured it out or thought of it. maybe they thought it was "common sense" that still doesn't mean they couldn't remind us about it days ago.

No one needs compensation.. you bought the game to play when it launches, you did NOT buy the game to just play for pre order... I pre ordered i played during some of the early access, and i am not complaining one bit.. i purchased the game to play at launch, it was just a nice bonus that I was able to get to play a bit early... Still even though servers were down part of he time I do not care, as i will state again i did not buy the game to play early i bought the game to play at launch and beyond...

sorry to say some of us have not even been able to log in let alone play for even 1 min. of the early access. and the only reason i pre-ordered the digital version was for the 5 day access, otherwise i would have just got it for launch day and had everything else anyways.

that's your statement, your personal opinion call it whatever you want, but still there are other people that bought the game in order to play earlier and wasted money.

So wait let me get this straight you paid $60 and up to only play for 3-5 days?

I paid the same thing and am playing much longer then that..

With that being said, you and others complaining purchased a game that launches on the 4th...

early access was given to you FREE you paid NOTHING for it..

Not seeing how you wasted money when you would have paid the same amount to not have early access, all you did was purchase the game earlier than the 4th of april...

Even people complain about free things.. and yes again the early access was FREE you did not pay extra to play 3-5 days early

ARE U SERIOUS, NO REALLY PLEASE.. I just want to be polite, so il'll just calm down.. soo what u are actually saying is that I paid extra money just for a pre order?! Don't make me laugh!!! this isn't like an xbox game, where u have to order it (or at least u used to when online store did not exist) here everything is ONLINE because is an MMO , so WHAT I intended to pay for was the damn early access, having said that, yes I am truly mad, but not about the service right now, just about a bunch of trolls that still stink of milk.

You ladies have got to calm down and understand that some things are just out of a person and or company's control.

They gave the early access and though some of you didn't get to play due to conflicting schedules you can not truly believe ZoS to be at fault. This launch in the eyes of seasoned MMO players has been a massive success thus far. Bug fixes and downtime are expected when dealing with a good development team.

tbh I bought the Imperium edition just so I could get the 5 days early access and the 1 month of free subscription. But mostly cause I wanted to play the game 5 days before launch so I didnt have to deal with millions upon millions of people trying to do the same thing at the same time during the launch day

I am not asking for compensation just stating that there are a lot of ppl that pre-ordered just for the early access, and normally paid more, so they don't have to deal with the mass lag and mass spam on launch day

To all of you who are argueing that pre-access was not purchased by us:

Zenimax was selling promises. They promised us a vision of a great game. They promised us major updates and balancing. They promised us good service and continuous debugging of the game. They promised us 3-day access to the game before launch.

My belief in their promises is shakened. I do not rage-quit because of a couple of hours downtime. I am also not a kid that wants to play every minute. I just want to believe that they do everything possible to fullfil their promises and to satisfy their customers. This belief is shakened by their decision to make a planned server update at EU primetime. I will endure additional shakings but at some point in time my belief in them is going to collapse and I will quit the game.

Umm how did you pay extra, the game is the same weather you purchased before or after launch....

the only difference in the game is NOT the cost of the game, but when you purchased it, you paid the same cost as everyone else who bought the game..

This thread is going nowhere as people THINK they paid extra money to play early when they paid the same cost as the people who will buy it tomorrow, the only difference is you purchased it early, not tomorrow..

What cost did you pay? I paid 79.99 ... for the imperial edition.. tomorrows cost for the imperial edition is.. 79.99 You got the early access FREE with paying for the game EARLY. And early access is just that you were able to access the game 3-5 days earlier than those who pay the same cost you paid but are paying tomorrow weather it be 1 hour you got in or even all 5 days worth you still were able to access the game earlier at the same cost as those who buy it tomorrow

Not sure how much more i can get into this considering no one agrees on this, so i am pretty sure we can all agree on one thing.. lets just agree to disagree cause all this thread is doing is getting people mad at each other for their own opinions..

Correct, that means that our accounts don't go "live" and the free 30 days of game time with no subscription starts after this Sunday at 8 am EST.

Before our 30 days would have started ticking tomorrow 4-4.

I can just see it now.

Will cost ZoS $200 to pay some devs their wages to produce another cuddle panda and that's gonna be their way to compensate millions of customers who have lost their early access.

For me game time will be the only acceptable form of compensation, that's cold hard cash for ZoS.

So much anger... does nobody feel that getting a free two or three days for free after launch (mentioned above in the thread, and here in the server status thread), before having to start their (also free) subscription time is compensation for losing at most (if your schedule was uncooperative) two days of early access?

Is it the "first one here" feeling that you're upset about losing? Because that can't be given back once the game goes live, and it wouldn't exactly be a great move to push back the launch so you can feel special.

It's not Zenimax's fault you didn't prepare for early access.

Any intelligent individual knows that with MMO launches, there are unexpected downtimes. To not expect that is to be quite frankly, a naive individual.

I took off so I only had to work Wednesday (which worked in my favor since the game was down), and thus could play the early access. What's your excuse for not doing the same?

I hope we do see utility pets and combat pets.

But I hope they are more like the jade dynasty type pets...where you have to level it up and take care of it by feeding it(as it has a food meter that goes down while its active)

And utility pet as in it will be a vanity type pet...but simply has its own bag space which you can increase through the usual in game vendors...or maybe they will run around auto looting corpses for you.

Or better still like jade dynasty you can have them sent on errands to collect things for you like crafting commodities, but only certain pets could collect certain types...and again you have to feed them to have them do this....and they collect like one item every hour.

Or maybe like star trek online or star wars or never winters craft system...where we get these companions/hirelings that go out and do missions on their own and may or may not get you something or open some special mission or get some collectable item for you.
