@Sylvermynx Neither pets, nor players, prevent you from interacting with anything. There is no collision, so they're also not impeding your access to anything.

It's a visual annoyance, to be sure, but if you're aiming the right direction and close enough, you can still interact with anything that needs interacting with, and the associated UI will always be the topmost frame.

If you're having trouble targeting something, take a step forward or back. So far as Line of Sight is concerned in game, the pets are invisible.

Immovable NPC's you have to roll dodge through are a far bigger impediment than pets have been for a long time.

All of the above = water off a ducks back.

It's an MMO *shrug* people are going to do what they're gonna do.

Someone here said people nowadays are all about 'me-me-me' when in fact it's pretty much always been that way.
The average person isn't going to stop and think 'how will this affect others' in RL not to mention a game.
Some of us do automatically, but most don't. I hazard to guess the ones that don't are probably a lot happier in general ;)

Anyway, should't let these things bother you, head down; blinders on; mind your own etc, etc, and enjoy your time in Tamriel (despite?) everyone else LOL

It's a good thing you can turn of zone chat ;) I honestly can't remember if you could do that before?

You can? I have looked over and over for that setting, and all I could manage to find was a way to make the text really tiny and therfore less intrusive.

On PC, you can right click the chat tab and remove the check mark from the zone option to no longer see zone chat in that tab. I do this and then create a new tab for zone chat in case I need it, which is rarely.

What game have you been playing?!

The combat pets always block the interact prompt of NPC vendors and doors and containers and anything else that has an interact(E) prompt.
They block it if the default camera position is on the other side of the pet from the interactable NPC/object, whether you are in first person or third person view.

The only way to get around it is to literally get around it by going off to the side, if that is an option.
It's more than an annoyance. It's stupid crap the developers could have coded to avoid and gets impossible to activate certain NPCs during busy times, like the Alinor bankers behind a wall that can only be clicked from a narrow window.

Hmmm...I am very, very good at complaining. So here are a bunch of things I personally find rude, not necessarily in any particular order:

1: Not dismissing your flappy twilights when dealing with crafting or the bank.
2: Mudballing strangers outside of the event that demands mudballing. The same goes for spamming any other sort of emote on others like that bird thing. I forget what the bird one is called.
3: Gloating in any form is rude, but most especially teabagging. This is beyond rude.
4: Dueling in the middle of town, especially right next to a wayshrine.
5: Sweeping in and stealing a chest when someone is struggling to open it.
6: Telling someone they suck as a player and tossing "L2P" letters at them instead of offering constructive criticism as to how one could improve.
7: Kicking someone from a party before giving them a chance.

I probably could go on and on and on. I am easily annoyed and whiny, but this should do for now.

I mudball bots as a test. There can be various reasons but for now it seems the most common to test if a real person or not. It is a series of things I test.

I agree that pets in certain areas can be an annoyance, especially when many are out and in the way.

But some of this other stuff is just silly. Who cares if a person is standing anywhere. REALLY? How in the world is that bothering anyone? You cannot literally be mad at someone STANDING in an mmo. How dare they, get the pitchforks!

You want to talk about trolly or otherwise bad behavior? How about the folks in PvP using glitched walls to come in an outpost? That one makes my eye twitch and I instantly am on oh you gonna die mode.

One time, I was running across the Alessia bridge and this blue with a name like such and such bridge guard was chaining people off into the slaughterfish filled water. One minute I was crossing the bridge and the next I was shot off the side of the bridge and falling to my doom. Luckily, I was close enough to the edge to survive, but there was a dead body already down there and another character hopping up the side of the hill trying to get out. Not gonna lie, I wasn't even mad, just like wth just happened and why lol

And some of you think people standing are being rude or trolly. Not a chance. This is no way anyone would be like, you know what will really get people riled up? If I STAND here!!!

How does this work? I tend to get mudballed when I am doing my crafting writs, using the wayshrine, or turning my crafting writs in. The only time I was mudballed on the field is when I had someone griefing me, mudballing me over and over, seemingly desperate for my attention. I just utterly ignored them and continued with my quests. Your example of mudballing does not seem too rude to me. It is the kind of mudballing I experience that grinds my gears.

How do you do that on console....?

    Wait for the best part.

You're playing a quest, and you have to gather some resources off the ground.

Then out of no where, some random player streaks in from out of no where , literally, and steals the resource you have to pick up that's right in front of you and you can't stop them because it's in PvE zones, they take it because they too are also doing the same quest.

    How's that for common courtesy?

    FANTASTIC right!!!!?

How did they get their first? Sounds like you were the one trying to steal their resource. Where do you think they came from? Where is this "out of nowhere" you speak of, because they did the same thing you did.

People need to get over themselves. Sometimes you will be farther from a resource and someone will get it before you. Deal with it. Stop telling others to be courteous while at the same time talking like a resource they were closer to belongs to you.

They are talking about quest items, not crafting nodes. Learn to read.

This "quest item pvp" is absolutely stupid and easily fixed. Hell, they have several quests where it is fixed so everybody can access the item without fighting other players for it, but this is not universal and it should be universal to all quests.
New quests where players have to fight for objectives are unforgivable.

Don't be obtuse. It doesn't matter if it is a quest item or resource. Courtesy was not an issue there. Everyone is trying to get the objects. Stop thinking you have some right to the item and people need to defer to you.

The design issue is a problem, but that has nothing to do with the title of this rant thread.

Unsummon pets add on has become my best friend. I am one that likes to unsummon my pets in town or when urn farming. I know others pets getting in the way irritates me so dismissing them is top priority to me, and this add on is a godsend (and sad it isn't naturally in game).

I always unsummon my pets because I don't want people to know I'm using a cheesey pet build to get through maelstrom

The only times when I care about other people being in my way:

    - Trying to loot stolen goods out of containers in a building blocked by a bear's fat ass.
    - Trying to use a crafting station and it is blocked by a bear's fat ass.
    - Trying to loot a dolmen chest and it is blocked by a bear's fat ass.

The bear has too large of a hit box that it easily obscures the prompt for talking to NPCs or looting containers. This needs to be addressed. The other pets can be cumbersome sometimes, but it is easier to find a "gap" in their hit box in order to loot stuff - with the bear, it is far more difficult if not outright impossible in some situations.

Ah yes! Spamming this stuff is rude. However, I have fat fingers, a clumsy nature, and a teeny keyboard so there have been times when I have accidentally hit the wrong key and used my ultimate in the bank and other places. It is rather embarrassing when that happens, and I wind up feeling bad. So when an attack goes off once, I generally forgive it and presume the same thing happens. When attacks go off over and over, then I presume a troll is at work. I have also seen people duel for some reason in the BANK. Really, take it outside.

Because I never react to mudballers since I expect that would feed whatever troll urge is driving them to interrupt people as they go about their business. Mudballers cannot see or hear me swearing at them and wishing their eyeballs to explode from inside the game, that's just going on in my own room. I really think they should make getting married a seperate instance. Nothing like feeling happy and trying to have a special moment with someone you love irl only to have someone throw mudballs at you and spam skills just for no other reason then to ruin it on purpose. It really shows the toxic player base that is getting larger and lacks common courtesy in any sense~ :/

I can't help thinking that this is what ZOS wants. If they didn't want people to grief others they would do something about it. There's been precedent in other games to make involuntary emotes something that people can opt out of or to make certain zones "no emote/no skill" zones but ZOS refuses to do that even though they are told again and again that mudballs and skills are commonly used as griefing tools. Now it seems they are making a small change that will only affect people under narrow circumstances but still won't protect anyone from the griefers, and that says to me that this sort of antagonizing environment is what they want in their game. No idea why, unless there's somehow money to be made from a mainly hostile player base.

I must admit I do this as my usual haunt is Daggerfall and trekking between the crafting stations, provisioning boxes and wayshrines on foot adds up and gets tedious pretty quickly. But I do at least take care not to ride through people, something I've noticed a small but noisy minority seem to do deliberately. Obviously not harmful but I'm just left thinking, why do they do that? But I guess they're the same ones who pointlessly spam spells, yell in the chatbox and fight outside the wayshrines. Some people are just like that.
