Did you pay more to preorder the game than you would to buy it at release? Does your copy of the game say "33 (or 35) days of subscription time included!" instead of 30?Agree 100%. We PAID for early access, either the 3-day or 5-day variety. And this is an ONLINE service that is PAID out of the subscription part of the game purchase.
I understand why you're upset. I even understand that you feel like you are missing out on one of your special pre-order bonuses (people would rage if they didn't get their mini-pets too). Keeping that in mind, the "5 days early game access" listed as a feature is not the same as "120 additional hours of subscription playtime!" You paid to get in early, not to be able to play every moment of that five days.
see this postWe want all of you to know that everyone who was part of Early Access will be granted an extended grace period until Sunday at 8AM EDT/12PM (noon) GMT before being required to transition your account to live. This will cover those who purchased ESO from an online retailer and won't be getting your box shipped in time and also gives anyone in Early Access who purchased digitally more Early Access time.
I'm not angry that it's down; I understand that's just part of playing an MMO, especially a new one.
I am, however, annoyed that they didn't see fit to warn us more than 5 minutes in advance, even though this was apparently planned. It's rude, inconsiderate. Some people took time off for this (not me, but some did).
This sounds like planned maintenance. If it is so, it would have been considerate to inform us. If it is emergency maintenance, why not say so? Why lie to us?Game servers are currently offline as we prepare for the end of Early Access and worldwide launch.

this is nothing to do with 'preparing the servers for launch'.. as so many people bought the imperial edition/early access..there isn't going to be a huge spike in subscriber numbers on the 4/4/14.
it is just an excuse because they messed something up and are trying to fix the mail bug.. or the issue yesterday where the US server was down.. which they havent really fixed yet.. they are trying to mask that behind 'we are preparing for launch..'

This would be the first time in gaming history that people have to pay for Beta access.

So while I'm continually disappointed that game companies choose to not implement modern deployment/patching systems, I'm not overly bothered by that. What does get me riled is the total lack of transparency.

To get the game ready for official launch? So tell the people for 'official launch' that the launch will be a day later because they have to fix all the bugs. Don't take it out of the time that people paid extra for.
