I work in IT and do Terminal Server support so essentially it's the same setup. All of the time our clients who connect to us from all over the world will have issues connecting to the server. Rarely it's 100% their side or ours. It's normally a hop or two somewhere in the middle that goes down and drops them. They will say the same thing that other people aren't being disconnected. Well no they aren't cause it's not the server, their connection or yours, it's a backbone issue between us.
While we will work with the provider having the issue to try and get ETAs and offer what assistance we can there isn't much that can be done. Some times the connection comes back and is stable, other times it's not and they will experience more drops.
The problem then comes in with it's normally AT&T, Verizon, Hurricane Electric, Comcast etc...major multi billion dollar companies you can't exactly strong arm and yell out to just fix their S*)*. What do they care. They are paid billions a year for the rights to use their backbone.
Now, if the rest of the server, or everyone in your instance or dungeon etc is getting dropped, then yeah ZoS needs to try and figure it out. Again though if it's just you it's your connection or more likely something in between you and the server.

I get random disconnects usually around the Peak hours people play this game at, randomly boots me to the start up screen!!! I play the harder Vet Dungeons and this is unacceptable!
Its random, I am talking to people and have Zero issue and all of a sudden (POOF) disconnected. I have been in main battle and kicked, Sometimes My Character Goes invisible and I see a Crosshair in front of me that is never there unless this glitch happens, I can move around using the keys but cant see Myself only the crosshair, I cant interact or anything. Then eventually back to being disconnected. This happens a few times a day, I can't window out for a quick moment to look at something online without getting disconnected!
I have a top of the line computer! There is no issue with my Internet! I play all other MMOs and games just fine with Zero disconnect! I have tried every single scenario that Bethesda keeps spewing to fix the problem! The exact same information btw!!! Make exceptions, open Ports, delete certain folders, repair through launcher etc, NOTHING WORKS!
This post literally comes up all the time in the Forums yet nothing is done, ZEnimax boasted about how this was the first big Megaserver for an MMO, well guess what with that server comes problems, so FIX THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are tons of articles about how bad your server issues are!
I am royally PO at this point! I dont like waiting for a dungeon for an hour to then get kicked from the game, then I get Stuck on a really LONG LOADING SCREEN and it never lets my character into the game!!
WTH IS going on!!!
Dont bother posting bethesda, here ill do it for you --- None of it works!

ESO.exe: C:\Program Files (x86)\ZenimaxOnline\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client\eso.exe
Steam.exe: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe
For some anti-virus programs you may need to add entire folders as exceptions.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\

Its simple stop giving them money. Don't pre-order DLC anymore, stop subscribing, don't log in but once a month to see if its fixed and if its not then don't log in for another 30 days.
take away the money and you watch how fast they jump on this and fix it... but until then they laugh at you all and keep accepting your money.
I don't have an issues playing in either pvp or pve or all the other people I see playing. I think it's on your end I know for you lot it's hard to admit your own system or connection is at fault but it's funny how many, many other people in the game don't have your issues.
Usual ZOS reply : Did you check your connection ?
This is a true bummer for me. State of the game is getting me to think whether I should move on or not. I like the game but the constant issues + the state of PVP are not helping

Do like me: play the game, throw in some skyrim while waiting for the new tes game and fallout online (both games have nothing to do with zos thank god!). Best way to go really.
SameHappened since Dragon Bones released.
Fast travel, wayshrines, grouping, completing quests and talking to NPCs are the biggest cues for a disconnect.
All other online games work perfectly fine. Definitely not an issue my end (We have done everything short of switching providers).

ESO's client-server model should definitely be rewritten...The amount of data that needs to be sent on a constant basis is ridiculous and at one point even my ISP was contacting me about it because it kept triggering their protection. When a game is moving more than 1-2 megabytes a second for one client you have to wonder exactly how can a server sustain that... That's in Vivec and probably why the server crashes so often or randomly boots people.
The best part? Apparently if you miss one to two packets, it always results in a disconnect. You don't even have to miss them actually, because some routers have security and will flag them (mine starts at the 1 megabyte mark for non-HTTPS traffic and port other than the standard ones). ZOS needs to look into cutting the data sent to the clients.
Cellphones do work better than home connections, but only because they don't have any firewall or rules and cell networks usually don't either (they will just suspend your service if it triggers an alert and this is completely automated).

I'm gonna call BS on the game using more than 1-2MB/second. This is from a night of raiding...
