When you have multiple servers in different regions, there's no need to take them down at the same times. You can take them down during off hours in their home regions... This coupled with the lack of proper in game announcements are very rookie mistakes...
Hopefully they figure things out soon.
I understand that downtime is frustrating in general, and ZOS does absolutely need to get their backsides in gear about giving people notice, but really. They are taking both servers down right now. That's a WORLDWIDE deal. I really don't know how much clearer this needs to be. It's not even hard to comprehend. It will ALWAYS be peak time for somewhere in the world.
I feel like the capsness is patronizing, but really, it's scaring me that people are complaining about this.

The fact is this whole EU primetime/US primetime bs needs to stop. I don't know about the EU but in the US pretty much all day is prime time, because everyone works different days/hours. We have people trying to play these games all the time and is the reason you can run into an American on just about any game at any time of the day.

The game's official launch is 4/4... In NA it's not 4/4, not even close. And just because there are players on at all hours of the day, does not mean there aren't prime times or peak hours... Y'know the times in which the majority of players will be playing.

So, the US lost more of its early access time than the EU and had a 14 hr downtime due to database issues yesterday. Still I don't see a bunch of threads right now saying the company is being bais towards the EU for letting them have more time. The point is people need to stop making it a US vs EU thing, and look at it as all customers are getting messed over by this down time.

Oh, this is even better. In our august wisdom (we're all IT techs apparently), we have decided that the simultaneous server update was unnecessary. ZOS, please listen to the undeniable wisdom of random teenagers, they *clearly* know your servers better than you do.

Servers host services.
People pay for services.
When the services break people get annoyed and dont pay you for anymore of your services.
