How much gold do you have on average?

I don't think you would call either of the guilds I'm in with a trader a trade guild. One has a trader in Riften and the other has a trader in Coldharbor. I am currently averaging about 500k net.

Last week I spent over 400k on jewelry for research and still banked 1M for June.

add motifs to crown store and the transmog system now

The motifs in the crown store are a legitimate problem. Back when Silken Ring and Mazzatun motifs were released in-game, I farmed those motifs. It was a fantastic source of gold that rewarded skill rather than luck; took us 20 minutes to get a motif that, even two months after the motif's release, would sell for 50-100K.

Contrast that with the Fang Lair and Scalecaller motifs. The hardmodes of these dungeons (the only way to get a guaranteed motif rather than a RNG diceroll chance at a motif) are on a whole new level of difficulty. Much harder than the hardmodes of the Hist dungeons, and not many groups can farm these hardmodes reliably. Yet, after just over 2 weeks, the prices of these motifs have fallen lower than the prices that the Hist motifs had at the 2-month mark.

So these motifs are less accessible, yet are commanding weaker prices in the market. Gee, I wonder what's different this time?

Transmutation, on the other hand, is a good change. It takes the sting out of the RNG of gear acquisition--which affects player power and is not cosmetic. And it's not a cash-shop money grab by ZOS. I'm completely okay with the impact that it has had on the player economy. I'm okay with people having to shell out hundreds of thousands for cosmetic fluff. But it's unfair--and unhealthy--for combat-related systems to carry that kind of price tag. (Plus, most of the gear that people are most interested in transmuting are bound--vMA weapons, Asylum staves, monster sets, etc., and thus have zero impact on the market anyway.)

In any case, to answer the poll, I'm now sitting at around 49m, but I'm not actively seeking to make gold. Most of the inflow now is from things like trials plunder and writ quest rewards (I'm collecting vouchers for attuneables), and while I did farm the Dragon Bones dungeons hard for motifs, it was all for learning them on my crafter--I have a couple dozen extras of those motifs that I've been too lazy to sell.

I don't really buy things- at least, not expensive things. I craft my gear. If I can't craft it, I make do. My adventure character (I also have a pure crafter) is just mostly-solo DPS, so I don't feel pressure to be top-tier geared out. I really, really want a nice house, though, so I'm saving. Once I buy that house I'll probably be broke, because I just haven't figured out a money maker. As to how I make what I do have: I play a lot, I steal, I have 2 characters that do writs daily, I sell recipes and the incredibly few motifs I find (that I don't know already) on the guild trader, along with any lucky dropped gear that has a chance of selling. Small money that slowly grows, and will (eventually) get me a large(ish) house. I would really like to make more money, and/or make it faster, but I can't say I'm suffering, so I don't complain. I'm (fairly) patient, so I just let the money slowly grow, and dream, and wish. :)

Buy underpriced items and resell them at market price.

Reselling is the best way to make millions of gold each week, but it's also extremely time consuming. You need to be scouring traders and zone chats for good deals all the time.

Farming raw materials and selling them is another viable strategy to make millions of gold each week. It requires less time than reselling, but it also earns you less (especially at the moment with mat prices being so low).

I make about 2 and a half million gold a week so I got more gold then I can ever use. I buy everything that is new as soon as it comes out and I use gold as giveaways in my stream as well. I haven't checked lately but I'm guessing I'm worth around 70 million currently.

Just curious as to some examples of what you do to make the 2 and a half mil a day?

I used to make nearly 10m a week at MW launch but now I can't seem to sell almost anything since its so easy to get Motifs now with crowns or gems, motifs was my money maker mostly and also the sharpened weapons before they added the transmog in.

I started MW with about 800k, and like 100 patterns learned, ended MW with about 300m+ worth of stuff, about 1520 patterns learned, and all motifs.

Also forgot to mention I had 0 houses before MW, but after I have all 3 Faction manors all decorated and 3 large houses.

The market has crashed on everything. Motifs, mats, gear, it's all worthless now. You can still make money from them, but it takes much longer.

Of course. CCP hired a IRL economist to make EvE Online the most realistic economy in a game ever.
ZOS hires (for real, they announced some weeks ago) people with experience in betting and nickel&dime players.

One of the various consequences, are those recurring events, where for days and days every good item in a category is given away for free or close to. Result: zillions people rushing to hoard free motifs and other usually good items. The farmed quantities are so inhumane, that prices stay flat for the whole year afterwards. Until the new event, where more good valued items will be devastated.

The only thing that really killed BA motif was putting it on the crown store, even with the event going on for 2 weeks wouldn't have totally destroyed it.

As of now I have 4mln in gold just in case, around 800 of every gold tempers/kuta and around 3000 vouchers.
    Already bought:
    Every gold-based motif
    Every gold-based home
All the provisioning recipes (cipher included)
Everything you can buy with vouchers
A big deal of furniture recipes up to 20k auction cost (and some more expensive)

Right now the next goal is all the furniture recipes
