We are currently investigating issues some players are having logging into the European PC/Mac megaserver. We will update as new information becomes available.
Player: zos please fix your game. Ive spent hundreds on useless trinkets and bobbles from your crown store to help support this game I love.
Zos: spent hundreds on useless crown store cometics and still plays daily despite how poorly this game runs update after update eh?.......Quick lets get the crown store team to make more shiny trinkets. No need to fix the game we are making money hand over fist.
ESO's game performance issues along with the steam log in issues have me looking and spending my money on other games. Infinite loading screens, extreme skill lag and random game crashes used to only be a thing in Cyrodiil, now you see it in PVE loading into Vvardenfell or loading into trials like vAA / vHRC. Getting kicked out of dungeons and trials and lagging in my own home instances? Not cool. Reading the forums and community manager responses (or lack thereof) make me think their priority is not in fixing the game or pushing patches to fix content already out there, but their priority is making sure we see what's new in the crown store / loot boxes. I've spent way too much on ESO just on housing and cosmetics because I really enjoyed this game, the skill lag + ping fluctuations + crashes + sloadscreens makes me not want to spend any more. What good is owning 17 eso houses when you can't even log in to decorate them? I also used to PvP daily but I'll spend less and less time and money into this game as it kicks me to log in screen / doesn't let me log in / gives me infinite loading screens again and again. Seeing my eso friends quitting and unsubbing, you'd think they would start working on these issues.
The game was very strong around about the homestead update. Since then.....
- Performance has become awful. Especially since this last summerset update.
- Balance, scaling, and combat enjoyment went to hell with the resource mega nerf in Morrowind. They have steadily become worse every patch since.
- My UI has not worked right since storage coffers and I have been unable to figure out if it is an add-on, the game, or what but after disabling all the ones I don't need for basic functions it still throws up messages so I just have to live with it.
- A ton of stuff has just become broken like invisible mechanics in dungeons and trials. Once it got so bad that a boss just got stuck in a loop blocking everyone's progress.
- We have had rollbacks for Talo's knows why and I don't think ZOS bothered to tell us but something must have been hella-broke.
- ZOS can't seem to stop giving us master writs for styles not in game or Jewelry ones that are about as functional as the Jewelry crafting system.
- The new endgame trials especially but to a lesser extent dungeons have had mechanics that are generally a mess and the trials have not really even been trials but just a few bosses that you can make tougher but also mostly just a mess of randomly coinciding mechanics by doing them all at once.
- Cheat engine has continued to proliferate.
It was uphill for ESO from about 1.6 to Homestead with some great improvements especially with one tamriel and homestead but it has been decidedly downhill since. The only exception to this was the quality of questing in clockwork city. I also noticed that Bethesda's whole E3 thing gave about 2 min to ESO so that was not real encouraging.
ZOS needs to step it up big time.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.
