Daily rewards: worth it?

Free stuff is free stuff, so I am not complaining, but I dont think the daily rewards have a point. Its sole purpose to be appealing enough to make people log in, even if they dont want to play, keeping them to be active players.
Let's see what we get: lots of poitions, poisons, food, xp scrolls, repair kits, soul gems, currencies and crown crates. The consumables are junk, nobody using them, only the xp scroll worth something. Currencies are nice, but the amount is so low that they dont do any difference (july rewards: 500 gold, 500 tel var stones, 3000 ap). Only the crown crates are interesting.
This is simply not enough to grab my attention. I wont start the game just to pick up these rewards. We need more valuable things. Through the month they could offer less valuable but intresting stuff, with a bigger reward at the end. Crafting materials and mats, furnitures, dyes, riding lessons, tresure maps, research scrolls, backpack and bankspace upgrades, and for main rewards we could have a few crown crates, maybe tokens.
Again, this is not a complaint, I just dont think the daily rewards fuilfill its purpose. So, what do you think? Is it ok, or its need to be changed?

Ps: sorry for my english.

I'm fine with the system as is. The standard rewards are still things I use for the most part. I trash the soul gems and the poisons and keep the rest. The tripots are decent enough. I use them in dungeons and pvp in places I would have just used hobo-pots anyway. The gold is a bit underwhelming, but still better than nothing. The AP rewards has a unique use in that you can claim it on a toon lower than level 10 to gain access to the skill line early (lv 3 rapids, drool).

Of course, the "good" rewards are a weekly thing. ZOS has even gone out of their way to highlight the ones that are supposed to be better by design. You're grabbing all the little things daily so you can get the good stuff weekly. Seems like a reasonable system to highlight crown store offerings.

Look, it is free so don't look a given horse in the mouth. They don't have to give it to you.

For myself i don't give a rats ass about these stuff. I rather have hem fixing the performance issues and gamebreaking issues.

Those are not very appealing for me, BUT for a new player those can be useful. Like level up rewards, they are like "hey, try using food" or "hey, there's an Imperial City dlc and you can buy stuff with tel var stones" etc. This isnt a bad idea I think.
Also they just cant fill all slots with useful items. Just delete the filler stuff and wait for crates. :)

I like the idea and think they are on the right track. The little dusk fox pet was nice last month. I would love to see the addition of some rare crafting items (motifs, tempers, trait items, etc). Another change I'd love is if items that are also available via crates could be traded in for crate gems. That would be nice for higher characters who don't care about crown potions, poisons, soul gems, repair kits, food. :)

For me it's the same as the crates they sometimes offer during weekend events, but now it's (almost) everyday, and still free, that's fine.

The idea is great, I like the crates and the pets obviously but the quantities of things like AP, tel stones and Gold... far too low..

Seriously how on earth does 500g help anyone.. two days horse payment wow thanks for that.. Should be at least 10k gold that would at least help newer customers afford some gear.

There is a difference, though. Crate trash can be converted to gems.

Most rewards are underwhelming and its annoying the crown store items dont stack with normal items.

Due to the monthly reward system I know I will miss the end of the login rewards this Summer holiday so I dont have any reason to login for crappy rewards the weeks before that. In a way, this system can be demotivating to login when you know you're not getting the good rewards at the end of the month.

It’s fine. Free is free. Junk is junk. Free junk is junk is free.

Whatever. It’s better than what was there 2 months ago. No need to unbalance the game by making them “worth it”.

Considering free has “zero worth” and we’re getting more than zero, it’s already “worth it”.

    Stop obsessing over “worth”.

Yes, its not apeealing for me at the moment.
I generally log in once a day any way even if I plan to play other games for the night, so for me it's mostly an added extra.

I had a lot of worries about how ZOS would handle them but I have to say the current system is reasonable enough for me, you get the unique items part way through the month with crates being the incentive towards the end, this means if someone is away from the game for a week or two they should still be able to get the special items.

I still think it's a little cheesy for a AAA MMO to have daily log in rewards but can't fight the norms these days.

Edit. As normal like a moron I clicked the wrong option. Read "is it worth it?" and chose yes without reading the follow text.

Crown crates in the end of the month is a pretty good carrot on the stick for many players, and I like that it is done fair enough - you can skip reasonable amount of days and still get them.

Everything else just is not fun. In a few other games you got as daily reward a chest. Most of time the chest has same junk as we have, but there is a small chance to have something interesting. In ESO it can be random motif, or gold temper, or some valuable herbs. Even if the chance is pretty small, it adds some intrigue and makes the system more appealing.

They are all useful things: AP, gold, repair kits, and the cosmetics are a nice bonus, so I'm glad to receive them. Also, I personally like that the rewards are more on the low-key side, because it doesn't put pressure to claim them, and it's not the end of the world if a player misses them.

Even though I have complained about ZOS in the past, the daily free login gift is generous. It shouldn't be something extraordinary everyday or it would be a loss of revenue for ZOS.

Reading through some of the comments, I already can see some people picked the wrong options.

As I've said before, I already had a daily reward, it was writs. Of course, pretty much everything in the reward system is of slight use to me, in terms of funds. I carry a maximum stack of 200 soul gems or repair kits. Using the free ones from daily rewards means I vendor the rest that I get. Likewise, I can use the potions on my leveling toons, and therefore vendor all the junk potions from loot. These are all small things, but they turn into positive cash flow.

As for the pet I might not use or the crates, I do have 15 characters so it's nice to have some options to customize them.

I like the system, it is weighted toward newer players but the longer term items are enough to get many longer term players on board. Pets and crates are always popular and who is to say mounts, outfits or outfit slots won't ever make their way into the equation, this is only the second month.

I enjoy logging to get the crates and the pet/mount. The alliance points and tel var are nice, wish it was more but as a non PVP player, I will take what I can get xD

My husband logs on claims reward and logs off. It doesn't entice him enough to play but free junk is still free so he takes it as ya never know when he will get the itch to play ESO again.

So far I like the mix and it is really nice that they put crates as a reward because so many are opposed to buying them. Wouldn't mind seeing a log-in reward exclusive mount. I also use the consumables while I level new characters so yes people do use them.

And yeah, those poll options have to have been deliberately designed to fake people out, there's no way it was accidental.

(I find the AP & Tel Var to be possibly useful, since I don't pvp. The crown tripots I'm sticking on one character so I don't have to make them any general-use potions. Crown repair crates save some gold. 500 gold is, yes, more gold. Not a lot, but hey - every bit counts. The only things that seem truly useless to me are the XP scrolls and soul gems. I don't need XP boosts, and I've got stacks of filled soul gems. But it's still no big deal. I don't expect a 'daily login reward' to always be something I care about. /shrug)
