This game makes millions of dollars off of every platform every month. Can we please get some new servers. I'm on Xbox and there is no reason why I should be waiting 30+ seconds waiting for the data base server to refresh when buying and selling on the trader. FFXIV was releasted around the same time and last year they got all new servers.

You guys charge $35+ for a new mount and I seen at least 100+ over the last week. I know you guys are not hurting for money. If you guys don't do something about poor game preformance pretty soon your not going to have a player base to buy the hundreds of new crown items you come out with every month.

Are you sure new servers will fix the issue ?

Could very well be a coding issues and not a hardware issue. In that case we are all S.O.L.

Searching before you post is good netiquette, especially when there's already a current thread on this.
Even on the internet, clear communication is important; it can be the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"; the difference between "knowing your s***" and "knowing you're s***".

Yes new server hardware is probably 3 or 4 times more powerful and faster than the servers they use now.

or they could improve the most consuming effects. Many abilities could just have enough to be recognized and not create a volcano of rainbows

And most likely not something new or upgraded servers would do. They are cheap and would have been an easy fix for Zos.

Yeah they are sitting on a cash cow, now is probably a good time to invest to make this game the next big hit.

The problem is getting the board members to agree to spend money on the game. I am sure zos already asked for better servers.

The problems with this game don't seem to be related to under-performing hardware, and "adding new servers" would not fix the underlying issue of all the technical debt they've built up over the years in rushing out buggy update after buggy update.

And you know what the ZoS server upgrade schedule is? You know which exact components are in the servers, as well as when they were last updated or changed?

Are there really people here that think we are playing on the exact same server hardware the game started with..?

Might have some cheap scrap metal in Brooklyn for sale. You have to dismantle and cart it away.

Do you have specs on their existing servers? Their server farm is composed of many servers. How do you know that they don't upgrade capacity as they replace failing servers? Unless you have some insider information you're just making wild assumptions. What you're experiencing might not have anything to do with most of the servers. But one single point in a very long link. There's the dozes of map server, the login server, the account transaction server, the the payment processors. And all the networking gear in between. Some of those might not be in the same data center.

If adding new servers would fix things they would have done it. Trust me. Buying a few new $10k servers is a lot of time cheaper than spending 2 times that address the problems in code. But that doesn't always fix the problem.

if they have not done it already about the only place throwing hardware at the problem would be something like Intel Black Ops custom CPU's (they did these for low latency heavy load stock trading) but it would only buy a little time because its not actually fixing the underlying software problems.....this game is a software minefield.

Something is certainly weird with the game engine when I can do 140+ fps in dungeons but get knocked down to the mid 40fps in town around lots of other players. And its not my end......i7 8700 GTX1080 game is installed on nVME ssd and I have business grade fiber internet(still usually have a 100ms ping tho.......). Thank Akitosh for Gsync or else this game's wild framerate swings would make it unplayable.
