Go ahead break free.. I will wait.
https://youtu.be/f4Mc-NYPHaQ In a way its good that there is so much CC in PVE now, it trains new players how to break free and dodgeroll so when they wander into Cyrodiil they arent held down and killed instantly by the first enemy they encounter.

When did this game become such a CC fest?
In PvE every enemy is either snaring, stunning or knocking you back. In PvP it's the same. Crowd control everywhere. And the worst part about it is the buggy diminishing return / break free system. PvP is stun, stun, stun, kick, knock back, stun, stun, knock back.
Don't get me wrong, CC is absolutely necessary and makes the game more challenging. But at the moment it's make-or-break and it's no fun.
Can someone explain to me when CC got ouf of control? *pun intended*

I don't get CC'd because I'm a Stamblade and know how to use "break free".

I agree, CC in pvp/pve is bad right now. And especially magicka builds are feeling it.
A lot of the problems players are describing in this thread can be solved by adapting.
My only issue with CC in PVP is that Magicka builds have limited options for snare/root immunity. Having a plan to deal with CC is essential. Usually this means slotting a counter, but not always.
I don't have a problem with CC in PVE so I don't run any soft CC counters. The key to dealing with CC in ESO is anticipation and a mobile play style. It's easier to react if you are always moving. Almost all CCs have cues or are easy to anticipate. Like expect that Clannfear to hop on you so be prepared to block/dodge/move.
At least this isn't World of Warcraft where certain classes could keep you stun-locked until they killed you.

The imperial mobs in the Cyro daily quests are the worst. I 2-shot them all (like everyone does) and still find myself constantly crowd controlled. .

Not just them, but most NPCs. They track your CC Immunity duration as well as a skilled player does. The moment your CC Immunity is up, they put their next GCD toward a CCing Attack. You really feel it if fighting a resource (which is horribly imbalanced vs Mag).
