Here's the thing. It may not be immediately on your end, but that doesn't mean it's 100% ZoS either. If other people aren't being kicked then the server isn't probably the issue either.

I work in IT and do Terminal Server support so essentially it's the same setup. All of the time our clients who connect to us from all over the world will have issues connecting to the server. Rarely it's 100% their side or ours. It's normally a hop or two somewhere in the middle that goes down and drops them. They will say the same thing that other people aren't being disconnected. Well no they aren't cause it's not the server, their connection or yours, it's a backbone issue between us.

While we will work with the provider having the issue to try and get ETAs and offer what assistance we can there isn't much that can be done. Some times the connection comes back and is stable, other times it's not and they will experience more drops.

The problem then comes in with it's normally AT&T, Verizon, Hurricane Electric, Comcast etc...major multi billion dollar companies you can't exactly strong arm and yell out to just fix their S*)*. What do they care. They are paid billions a year for the rights to use their backbone.

Now, if the rest of the server, or everyone in your instance or dungeon etc is getting dropped, then yeah ZoS needs to try and figure it out. Again though if it's just you it's your connection or more likely something in between you and the server.

On console, you can see entire groups of 20 or more players frozen in place all at once, every 4-6 minutes, like clockwork. It rotates, and sometimes you're the lucky one who gets to go around killing the frozen opposition players, but most of the time, you're frozen helplessly too. That is most definitely Zos's fault. I get that this is a huge, complicated game with some pretty amazing features, and it probably takes a ton of resources, but that's why we willingly pay them our money every month and support them by giving them more money for items that have no real world value. This feels more like a coding issue than server issues or connection issues, but even that should be far cleaner than it is, given the length of time they run beta on each new update on the PTS.

I Keep getting disconnected and its NOT ON MY END!!!

I get random disconnects usually around the Peak hours people play this game at, randomly boots me to the start up screen!!! I play the harder Vet Dungeons and this is unacceptable!
Its random, I am talking to people and have Zero issue and all of a sudden (POOF) disconnected. I have been in main battle and kicked, Sometimes My Character Goes invisible and I see a Crosshair in front of me that is never there unless this glitch happens, I can move around using the keys but cant see Myself only the crosshair, I cant interact or anything. Then eventually back to being disconnected. This happens a few times a day, I can't window out for a quick moment to look at something online without getting disconnected!

I have a top of the line computer! There is no issue with my Internet! I play all other MMOs and games just fine with Zero disconnect! I have tried every single scenario that Bethesda keeps spewing to fix the problem! The exact same information btw!!! Make exceptions, open Ports, delete certain folders, repair through launcher etc, NOTHING WORKS!

I am royally PO at this point! I dont like waiting for a dungeon for an hour to then get kicked from the game, then I get Stuck on a really LONG LOADING SCREEN and it never lets my character into the game!!

Long or infinite loading screens can be caused by a few different things from permission issues to add-ons. There are a few troubleshooting steps you can try listed below that can help with getting the game to load.

    Remove Add-Ons

To fully remove your add-ons, do the the following in this specific order:

    Exit the game
Navigate to C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live in windows explorer
    Rename Addons to Addons.old
    Rename SavedVariables to SavedVariables.old
Check in-game to see if the if the issues persist.

    Add Anti-virus and firewall exceptions

The application files that may require exceptions are:

    Bethesda.net_launcher: C:\Program Files (x86)\ZenimaxOnline\Launcher
    ESO.exe: C:\Program Files (x86)\ZenimaxOnline\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client\eso.exe
    Steam.exe: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe

For some anti-virus programs you may need to add entire folders as exceptions.

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\

    Repair through launcher

To run a repair through the launcher:

Start The Elder Scrolls Online launcher.
Click on Game Option on top of the News section, and click on the option for Repair.
Allow the launcher to examine all the files for the game. This will take some time.
If any files are found to have problems, the launcher will re-download those files.

Run launcher and game as an administrator

Right-click on the game Launcher and select Properties.
    Navigate to the Compatibility tab.
Check the box that says Run as Administrator.
    Click Apply and then OK.
Repeat these steps for ESO.exe, located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\Game\Client (by default).

This used to happen to me. It was my internet connection...connected through a wireless LAN card...replaced the card with another wireless LAN card...same issue...then used my phone to connect to wifi and tethered it to my computer...problem gone. Installed ESO on a new gaming laptop...no issue whatsoever....it was those worthless wireless LAN cards that were causing the problem...both were the same brand. Use a wired LAN connection, or a better wireless connection(tether your phone while its on WIFI to test)

P.S. Those wireles cards worked fine for other programs, browsers etc, but not for ESO. You may not believe its your internet...but it most likely is.

    A suggestion...

Grab a VPN (NordVPN is a good one) and try using it for a while to see if the rerouting of your internet helps at all. You can try several different locations to see if they help.

If it does, then it is a problem somewhere between yourself and ZoS servers, not specifically you or ZoS. Which BTW sucks when it happens, because getting "in between" entities to fix their servers is way harder than yourself, your ISP or ZoS since there is often no one to call or complain to.

I tend to agree. I have only a mid-range gaming computer and am hard wired to the internet through Time Warner (now Spectrum) cable 5g modem. I rarely have problems with lag in ESO although loading screens are taking longer than usual lately. Even in Cyrodiil when others are having problems I rarely do. This does point to client side problems, but I think the overall issue is a combo of both server and client. People who connect with Wi-Fi will tend to have more connectivity problems than hard wired connections.

ESO's client-server model should definitely be rewritten...The amount of data that needs to be sent on a constant basis is ridiculous and at one point even my ISP was contacting me about it because it kept triggering their protection. When a game is moving more than 1-2 megabytes a second for one client you have to wonder exactly how can a server sustain that... That's in Vivec and probably why the server crashes so often or randomly boots people.

The best part? Apparently if you miss one to two packets, it always results in a disconnect. You don't even have to miss them actually, because some routers have security and will flag them (mine starts at the 1 megabyte mark for non-HTTPS traffic and port other than the standard ones). ZOS needs to look into cutting the data sent to the clients.

Cellphones do work better than home connections, but only because they don't have any firewall or rules and cell networks usually don't either (they will just suspend your service if it triggers an alert and this is completely automated).

I found that my issues mostly subsided when I blocked Win 10 from auto updating. I could actually pvp in Vivec again.

Hello, yes....could I get you to disconnect your Ethernet cable from the back of your Router n from the wall socket and flip it round so that you are now plugging the end from the wall into the Router and the end from the Router now connects to the wall...are they now fastened securely? Yes? Good...now please test your connection again...

Long story short...method employed by IT to ensure the Ethernet plugs were actually connected...lol

as someone who has done IT:
client: yes its plugged in and turned on
me: can you physically check the cable please?
client: uh, it works now. yeh, it wasnt plugged in.
