My NB isn't having a huge problem vs Sload's. It is rarely in my Death Recap. Strike First, Be fast, Stay mobile, have enough magicka and regen even as a StamBlade to get 3 or 4 casts of cloak off with another 3 ish after popping a magicka potion.

I've been checking out Sload's for a bit on my StamBlade. Using Sload's gave me a significant drop in WD. From around 4K to roughly 3.4k

It is rarely the cause of death on my kills the majority of which die before Sload's ticks out at 1126 per tick. Let's agree most of those kills are average players.

Then there are the above average. They typically have well crafted character builds with high mitigation. They are getting hit a little harder with Sload's. AND they are having a harder time with it maybe because their survivable build only needed X heals. Their shield or block was sufficing to be survivable until they could manage heals or a pot.

Sload's isn't alot of pressure at 1100 per tick, but when I combine it with the now nerfed into the glyph trash heap, oblivion glyph, a poison dot, high enough damage to put pressure on shields the pressure from the oblivion damage eats away at them while they continue to cast shield after shield. What I've noticed if they have a decent heal they can survive or turn the tables.

The point is I really don't think it's OP. This type of damage and the shield breaker stuff really needs to be brought mainstream for ESO. Maybe even provide a new CP nodes that let a player customize their resistances that probably should include Oblivion damage, but as long as Oblivion damage is nerfed as it is, those resistances should be less effective as well or require more points.

I think this situation is much like it was in the early days of the Warden Class. The community thought they sucked, but as the Warden players got more time under their belts there was a ton of whine in the forums. A certain vocal crowd refuses to give it time or to change their build or playstyles. For instance there's tons of healing sets. There's lot's of spells and abilities that greatly outheal 1.1k / sec. I just don't see this set as is as a huge problem once groups lean to more burst heals.

Each damage type in ESO should be EFFECTIVE. As it is now and has been for years it's all about Fire lightning being a distant second and ICE holding up the spot of neglected stepchild.

IMO the more viable options we have...the better. How many people were using Oblivion damage since the glyphs were nerfed? Sload's contributes more to the rock / paper / scissors than before it existed.

All they really need to do is make it so it's not stackable from multiple sources. If that's the only change they made to it, I'd be happy. It would still be potent in 1v1 situations, and you could have 1 person in your group run it incase you need to bully a sorc, but you wouldn't have zergs running over you with it. That, and make it so it doesn't pull NB's out of stealth, they have enough issues with Rune Cage, Haunting Curse, opposing Marks, and Whirlwind as it is.

As always, the L2P crowd doesn't get it.

Yes, sloads itself can be outplayed. There are plenty of options, like shield plus hot, dodge plus hot, etc.

If you look at sloads in a practical situation, it's a different story. Sloads doesn't come in isolation. It comes in groups.

Every battleground I played since this set exists has at least one duo or even worse, a full premade sloaded. And the second you come up against two sloads at the same time, all the counters don't work anymore.

The hots aren't strong enough to counter two sloads and the added pressure of "normal" damage kills you, except against potatoes.

Purge is only an option for magicka templars against sloaded groups. Any other class can't keep up with removing debuffs, even with efficient purge. Every purge is a gcd you can't use to put pressure on the sloader. We can start talking if cleanse would cost the same as efficient purge does now and efficient would be ramped up to 5 purges on the caster similar to templar.

But do this just for sload? The skill would become that zerg crutch it was before the cost increase.

    So, what can you do?

If you remove the damage stacking, you may as well remove the set completely, since no one would run it for fear of an unused 5piece, something which you absolutely can't afford in bgs.

If you let cloak counter it, the set would become a premade only asset due to coordinated cloak countering. In essence you'd retain its use for exactly those players that are the cause of the problem.

If you change it to mitigateable damage type, even with increased damage, you'd just have a viper with better 2/3/4s. May be an option but would mean that the set couldn't compete since you can get viper or overwhelming or similar with "free" jewellery, what with the cost of jewellerycrafting would make most people go farming instead of crafting.

Bottom line, this set is un-salvageable. Remove it, refund those who crafted it, the craft materials, and replace it with something new.

If they take out the "cloak breaking", they MUST get rid of the Oblivion damage, too.

Saving Nightblades while still screwing over Sorcs is not fair!

the fact that theres some people having that dot ticking over 10k damage and you cant stop it is kindve what makes that set broken

Max damage is 5971 over 7 seconds which is completely negated by any hot or vitality pot, but I guess 10k makes it sound more scary :D

Fought a couple of 'sloadsters', haven't died to it yet but can tell how annoying it is. Especially on a mag sorc with just healing ward to counter it.

Good thing I had about 1k hp regen, though durok was messing with that often too. So my way of countering this was pure acrobatics, kiting & dodging, spamming resto heavies for major mending before casting healing ward, it was intense, fun & annoying at the same time.

Well they need to just remove the stacking of sloads in my opinion. And if they remove the ability to pull nbs out of cloak on it then shield breaker should be reworked to. As a sorc sloads is nothing cpmpared to that but we've learned to live with a broken set so nightblades should too

lol I’m sorry but that’s not a fair comparison. Even with shield breaker being used against you sorcs can still use shields, Sloads completely takes away our ability to cloak, a Nightblades core defensive mechanic and class defining ability.

sloads isn't even that good of a set, it doesn't need fixing. it's a good counter to broken builds e,g shield stackers who don't use heal, nb cloak spammers, permablockers, misters.
what needs to be changed is how it shows up on death recap, it shouldn't be on death recap simply beacause it did 4-5k dmg over time, it rarely is main contributor to death and have no place of being on death recap unless it is.
atm, it shows on death recap only because it have higher dmg over time total value than most single target/aoe damage.
