Upgrading a new Set to Gold tier costs roughly 250k in materials.
How anyone could have any money in this game is beyond me (if he doesnt have the time to do the farming. Which pretty much no one over 30 has)

As somebody who is only just a couple months into the game, with my first toon About a day away from 160 CP, I’m Starting to wonder what gold is for. I use it here in there for materials, but nothing is terribly expensive so far. For people further along in the game, what do you tend to spend money on? What do you save up for? What is worth it? How does your personal economy work?
Sound like fun, I love coming home from work to go to work again.Oreyn_Bearclaw wrote: »Writs, writs, writs!
Upgrading sets is a waste IMO for little return. Only Monster sets and Weapons get the Gold treatment. Housing and motifs is the only thing I spend gold on and sometimes a specific item. Transmuting saved me alot of good as well.
The word "wast" in the same post as "housing" is really hilarious in that context. I couldnt help it but smile
I never said the word "wast" but ok.
You literally said that upgrading armor is a waste, and one sentence later that your buying stuff for your house, which is the climax of wasting money in an mmo.

As I said, I know you can farm everything and dont have to buy it. But, since my time is very limited, I much rather actually play the game than farm mats or run around billboards and vendors doing Writs. I tried it, it quite literally cost me most of my playtime (which is about 20 minutes to half an hour a day).

Spent about 17m leveling all my 15 characters to max JC the first week of launch, most I've ever spent in the past year I believe

Really? Your big argument is the fact I forgot to type an "e"? Holy Guacamole........You literally said that upgrading armor is a waste, and one sentence later that your buying stuff for your house, which is the climax of wasting money in an mmo.
I was replying to the fact I was quoted for using a word I never typed, which was "wast". Learn to read and comprehend.
Edit: http://www.getreadytoread.org/early-learning-childhood-basics/early-literacy/early-reading-and-writing-development Here's something for your trouble.
I never complained, its all good, I like that you can buy upgrademats with gold.bellatrixed wrote: »If you have addons it takes about 2-3 minutes per character to do writs and even if you only do it on one character it's still a minimum of 4k a day, plus the potential for gold mats/master surveys which can sell for a lot.
If you only play for 20 minutes a day and hate housing, chances are you don't need a lot of gold anyway, so I'm not sure what your complaint is.
<sigh> Allright, my bad, I should have phrased differently. "The older you get the more responsibility you have in Real Life, the less time there is to do the chores in mmo`s in addition to the normal gameplay".Upgrading a new Set to Gold tier costs roughly 250k in materials.

And what a silly assumption... age has no bearing on free time whatsoever. I know 18 year olds that are busier than 50 year olds and this game attracts all ages. But you have to love the high and mighty players who feel the need to justify their playtime by making sure everyone knows they aren't one of those losers with free time.
