Alliance Change Tokens

feel like we've been down this road before.

Alliance change tokens are a very bad idea. PvP pops are not balanced at all and a lot of people would switch immediately to whomever wins the campaigns the most....we'd be better off removing the factions entirely at that point unless we'd want too see one or two factions with virtually no pop vs a fully locked pop 24/7.

Sorry but you can still do it. If you want to be on the winning side you can just re-roll and still choose that faction. Alliance changing option is I think quite logical for people that want to stick with their main chars and experience another alliance.

    just my two cents..

i'd love to have the option to change an alliance. simply because when i started to play i started my character as a Redguard stamDK, then i realised that i liked tanking, so i switched him to a tank, along with the race change. he is also my crafter with all my motifs learned and traits researched (so no, "just start a new character" is out of the question). then i tried to improve my tanking skills and started to look around the web and found Woeler's website, where he talks about skills needed to be a good tank, like Warhorn, Guard and so. this whole process took several months, from "oh, i kind of like this tanking thing" to "ok, i need these skills to be a tank worthy of doing end-game stuff reliably". now i have an Argonian DC tank, but my allegiance lies with EP. i felt like a traitor when i went to Cyrodiil to get those skills i needed. i fought against my friends and guildmates. which sucked..

i can understand why the alliance change token might be causing a stir among players, but i would really like to have it available. i'd pay for it some good money..

I think the best option would be having it as a questline after the Cadwell's Gold!

Look since the start of the game EP and DC have had the population and have had the largest amount of exploiter's and the

most people banned for exploiting, especially in pvp.

So a 1 time faction change per toon per account, seems to be a logical step.

But in today's world logic doesn't seem to matter :(.

Is this on your list yet Zos?

Just make this cost more crowns Zos, make plenty of money, and if people want to exploit this, which has been some people argument, its more money in Zos pocket.

As a non-PvPer, I would absolutely pay $30 to switch alliances so that I could get those last two skyshards in EP that DC can't seem to unlock the gates for in any of the campaigns I've been watching for it. In fact, I would gladly end up paying $60 (if alliance change tokens were priced similarly to other change tokens) to switch to EP to get my two skyshards, and then switching back to DC just to keep my desert background in my character selection screen because I hate that snowy one.

Does AD push EP in those campaigns sometimes? Because it doesn't matter who opened the gates, as long as they are open.

Some of us have mistakes we've made in past and, with an account full of maxed out characters, can't undo. I'd love to be able to PVP with my friends but sadly, my toon that initially completed all the quests is the wrong faction. I'd love for there to be an alliance change token. Obviously, it would need to be done in a manner that won't allow for exploitation in PVP. Make it so you can only change a character once per year. If not alliance change token, then make it so when choosing a home campaign, we also choose a faction and are locked into it for the duration of the campaign.

I agree with your proposal. Sadly, I deleted 8 of my characters in the wrong faction and class (playing since beta, so certain game mechanics required a DC or AD toon to be in the veteran zones). I would ask for a class change token, so I don't have to delete and level up 4 more toons (with their PVP skills).

Im pretty sure you meant alliance change not class change.

Can you describe what this perceived issue is, @jcaceresw?

Because I’ve been playing since beta too ... and I have had absolutely zero issues with game mechanics related to Alliance choice on my DC and AD characters.

The very first purple motifs (like darwen) only dropped on the gold zone, the monster collectibles also were tied to the last 5 levels you had, so veteran zones where the way to go to get them and certain monsters from the EP zone could not be farmed in the DC and AD zones because they don't exist there.

there's so much demand on this topic. It is kind of annoying that ZOS wont make this a thing...
