✭✭✭✭✭reminder. JC tempers are not just used by trial runners to min max their builds. (and those will likely use dropped jewelry anyways) they are used by crafters. both for master writs AND for furniture crafting.
at current rates, they will NEVER be dirt cheap. they will eventually be cheaper but they will still be at a minimum 3-4 times more expensive than their alloy etc counterparts. why? because it takes 10 times as much effort to get a single JC temper as it does anything else. expecting the prices to be equivalent to something that is 10 times as faster to get is like expecting that BA motif will ever cost as much as Mercenary chapters. (hint. it will not)dirty worthless casual.

I have 15M in cash and A LOT of materials AND almost all valuable sets all BIS and finished being upgraded and I still think this is a stupid design haha..
People are so okay with the slope haha.. so sad.

I am not a fan of it, but I just think it doesn't warrant 90% of the whining you see here on the forums. Golden armor is useless and so is golden jewelry. Currently paying ~40k to upgrade one piece of light or medium armor to gold is not worth it either yet I don't see people complaining.
I haven't seen any great combination of crafted sets that totally outperforms one crafted + one non crafted and if there is you can just go with white to purple jewelry and be fine.
I just don't understand what kind of expectations people had towards this that they are now disappointed. Did anyone here truly think that you would be able to make golden jewelry of your choosing 2 weeks after the patch? Can't wait to read all the whining in a month or two when all the people discover how underwhelming golden vs purple jewelry is.0 -

✭Chromium platings are currently 90-100k on PC. Prices are slowly coming down every day.
I feel really, really, really bad for console players though, since everything over there is like 2-3x more expensive than on PC.0 -

when i left console a tempering alloy was like 5 times the cost it is on pc. so0 -
Saoghal✭digging up an "old" post, but yeah the requirement to get some temper is crazy specially for gold one. I have farm for the last few days (my JC crafting is maxed) and I will get other stuff on the side and while I could get one or two Wood or Blacksmith gold temper, I think I only got one for almost 500 JC ore... Why is JC crafting more tedious than the rest? Why could'nt it be like the rest of the crafting FFS? I'm complaining and I'm an "old" player... imagine a new player that will have to level up ALL of the crafting like that and the new JC crafting too? Man the pain!1 -
greyroyceSoul ShrivenWell ZOS controls the game and they make all the decisions. Material to craft anything should not be so dam expensive.
The drop rates should be way higher then they are. Just makes the game not so much fun.
When my subscription runs out I'm not going to renew it...I'll play for free and enjoy the game more.0 -

Well its been a couple months and prices have dropped but only about 8% from the numbers the OP posted.
Wonder if ZOS realizes that jewelry is just essentially another of our equipment and even at these rates I will never go above blue on any crafted jewelry and even then only with the basic traits, trait mats are still expensive. As it is when I do a build I just find dropped jewelry to use which I can buy in purple for 2-3k, instead of paying over 70k for one crafted ring or necklace. Casual gamers are TOTALLY locked out of ever having crafted jewelry better than blue quality which as another poster mentioned isnt really isnt as good as dropped stuff anyways.
Really the drop rates and availability of the improvement materials for jewelry needs to be as good or slightly better than that of the regular equipment, since it is really just the same effect per item as our armor pieces or weapons anyways.0 -

Yes, we did pay real money for Summerset with the jewelry crafting as part of that purchase and we are not really able to use that, can we get a refund???? hehe0 -

Ajaxcat✭✭Personally I find Zircon to be really hard and expensive to get - Chromium I get from daily writs fairly often. What I see a a lot is that I refine say 100 platinum, I get a bunch of traits, a bit of Tern, and maybe (if the moon is full) 1 zircon grain xD. I'd be happier with a slightly better drop rate for that but what ever. Now if I farm rings and do manage to get some purple's and decon them I may ... maybe get 1 zircon (for 2 zircon both moons need to be full and risen). We were discussing this in guild chat the other day and it seems some people get it quite often while others (like myself) are hated by RNG. XD
It's a bit of a pita - my crafter is maxed but I think I'll probably ignore jewelry after I finish researching swift. I certainly won't be making any fancy furniture. I also noticed that the jewelry master writs don't sell that quickly although they provide a large amount of writ vouchers. Anyway not really a complaint more of what I experience - would be nice if weren't such a grind though.
